It was a closed casket at the funeral. Rarity designed the dress Twilight would be buried in herself. She said it was the last thing she could have done for her. Pinkie Pie's hair was flat as they lowered her coffin into the ground, eyes glistening with tears. The loud exploding noise of a sonic rainboom crashed and rumbled through the sky as Rainbow Dash flew as fast as she could. She couldn't go to the funeral; everypony knew she couldn't handle that amount of sorrow. Dressed in black, ponies of Ponyville stood around and sniffled. Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity all stood the closest to the descending coffin. Standing beside the group on either side, Princess Luna, Princess Celestia and Cadence each hung their heads in sorrow.
The group calmly walked once the funeral was over. They all walked, close together but quiet as ever. They walked to Rarity's boutique where they all entered one by one. Fluttershy sat down on the floor, Pinkie leaned against Flutters, her head resting against hers. Pinkie Pie always had some sort of unspoken promise to protect Fluttershy. She knew Fluttershy was timid and easily effected by things, while the others in the group could never be caught letting others make a fool of themselves.
Pinkie Pie knew, too. Why Fluttershy only spoke when she had to. Rarity calmly put her veil down on the shelf as the other calmly took their dresses off to hang them up. Breaking the silence, the grunts of Pinkie could be heard as she struggled to get her dresser's zipper to work. It was stuck near her hoof and she was biting down on the metal zipper with her teeth as she struggled.
"Need some help, Pinkie?" Applejack asked, leaning her hoof in to help but Pinkie instantly refused and kept struggling. Tears swelled in Pinkie's eyes and started to roll down her cheeks, her grunts getting louder and louder until they broke into sobs.
"Pinkie, darling, its alright! Look, I can get it for you," Rarity's horn glowed and the zipper slowly unzipped as Pinkie stood still, head hanging, flat hair draping over her eyes and her mouth hanging open to let the sobs out. The saliva dripped out as much as her tears and mucus dripped from her nose. Applejack's eyes began to water as she started to grab Pinkie near her shoulders as she hollered back at the sobbing Pink pony, "Land sakes Pinkie! Calm down please!"
"You're right!" Pinkie screamed back, her high shrill voice making Fluttershy's ears bend back, "Its because of me! I'm the one who could of helped her! I could of said something I could of DONE something!" Pinkie's hoof pointed at herself as she looked back at Applejack.
Applejack grit her teeth and held her hoof up and smacked Pinkie across the face. Pinkie's head cocked back, her hair sprawling out while tears beaded in the air behind her face now. Applejack pulled her back up to make her in eye contact with her, "Calm down, Pinkie!" Pinkie kept crying, her head cocked back just lazily hanging, her hair gently brushes against the floor. Her mouth was wide open as the loud sobs echoed through the boutique. Finally, Applejack pulled her close and hugged her. At that moment, Fluttershy broke out in tears as well. Her quiet timid sobs broke the hearts of everypony no matter what circumstances. In a matter of seconds everypony was crying. The sound of their loud reached, gasping sobs echoed louder through Rarity's store.
It lasted for 10 minutes, everypony's faces were drenched in tears, sweat and spit. Applejack still held Pinkie close, hugging her tight enough for Pinkie to make a tiny groan from the slight pain of being squeezed so tightly.
Pinkie slowly calmed down her sobs and opened and looked over to Rarity, who looked a little silly from her mascara rolling down her face. She noticed Rarity's fake eyelash was falling off. Pinkie let out a giggle. Applejack pulled back and asked in a semi-mad tone, "What're you laughin' at?"
Pinkie pointed to Rarity, "Rarity, y-your eyelash is falling off"
Rarity let out a loud "huh?" and felt near her eye and noticed Pinkie was right. Rarity blushed embarrassed and said "wh- hey!" Fluttershy started to giggle a bit. Applejack held in her giggles for as long as she could, but it didn't last long.
"heh... Rarity ah always noticed how your eyelashes are kinda long" Applejack snickered. Rarity tried fixing it as Fluttershy started laughing. Even her laugh sounded timid. Just as quickly as the crying erupted before, laughter started to fill the room. Rarity however stayed a angry for a while at all the ponies laughing at her, but Pinkie giggle snort giggle snorting was too silly sounding for her to resist.
The laughter died down after a while. Their voices now raspy from how tense their vocal chords were just shook up from the laughter and the cries.
