NEW CHAPTER!

AN PLEASE READ!

OK I wrote this here story ages ago. But I want to have it done. So that's what I'm going to do. Keep in mind how ever that I lost the original ending to this. It's in some worn out note book, possibly unintentionally junked as a result of it being so unreadable. Or lost in box somewhere feeling all sad. Also keep this in mind, I have also found many plot holes and such when rereading the published chapters. ( and goodness the pacing is aweful XP ) My highschool safe sure did make a needlessly complex story here!

I'll keep moving forward to the best of my abilities. So if something doesn't make sense, yeah blame my high school-self when she cooked up this story. In any case feel free to point something out if it's a problem, chances are I missed it. I'll do my best to adjust/change or even remove the problem. Thank you for sticking with me.

Alright time to do something rare, update a fanfic. So, let's dust off our old reading glasses and charge up our batteries, 'cause this here is gonna be a bumpy ride!

Donatello and Leonardo both new this, but they didn't know how their parents died and why. They were lied to and told it was an accident. It has been years that Splinter's been hiding this secret from them, but now he fears that it would be catching up to them. Splinter waits in the kitchen patiently, he knows he has to tell them what happened. For the sake of Donatello.

He hears footsteps and a tired yawn. His heart beats faster. Leonardo walks into the kitchen.

"Hey, Dad. Sorry, I overslept, I'll just get ready for school and- "

"No need." His father interrupted, "There is something you must know…"

...

"You're worried this isn't just a random act? Dad, what are you talking about?" Leonardo asked.

"No son, it seems like it is an attack from The Foot."

"What is the foot?"

Leonardo was lost. They shouldn't have fallowed Casey. They stuck their necks out and paid the price. Simple, but now Splinter was telling him this was false.

Splinter was sitting in the living room next to his son. He was looking down at his hands and took a deep breathe. There was something he had to unload and now was the time. He pulled a paper from his pocket.

"This symbol, it is similar to the one worn by The Foot. I think your brothers drawing is a little inaccurate, but this is undoubtedly the Foot."

Leonardo looked at the paper. He still didn't understand. The Foot, The Purple Dragons, what difference did it make?

"The Foot has a history with your family, and I mean your biological family. The same is true for Raphael."

"How is that? Who are they anyway?"

"I'm getting to that, your father was a reporter, remember?"

"Yes, and mom was a social worker, that's how she meet you right? When you ran the orphanage?"

Leonardo was listening playing along, but it was a haze, nothing connected. He waited for his father to go on.

"Your father was working on a story about the Purple Dragons. He told me that they were expanding, and wanted to know why. Most of his work centered around crime in the city. He wanted to work with the youth, that's how he meet your mother, you know.

But when he was working on the Purple Dragon's story, he discovered that there was another group, a foreign group from Japan, that was starting to organize them. This group is known The Foot, and they are a powerful ninja clan. Leonardo, they discovered your father was uncovering them. They...they were the one's that had your father and mother killed. They left you here with me to protect you and your brother."

"What?" Leonardo shouted.

He stood up shocked.

"Leonardo, you have to listen to me. Do you see why we must handle this carefully? We can't trust the police to believe us. Your father also tried to seek help but I suspect The Foot had an influence on them too."

"What? Why? Why would you...I mean why did you keep this from us?" Leo looked at Splinter in disbelief.

"I didn't want you to know about them. I wanted to bury that past away. Your mother left you and your brother with me so you could live on." Splinter pleaded.

Leonardo stood shaking, with rage or confusion he couldn't tell, but the truth seemed absurd. It wasn't an accident like he was led to believe, his mother and father wore murdered. Now those same people had his brother.

His heart was racing. Leonardo looked at Splinter like a stranger. All this time, he had withheld important information of his true father and mother. But now wasn't the time to feel anger. He slowly sat down, straighten up, and inhaled. Your brother needs you. Don't be anger, don't lash out.

"What about Raph? His biological family was killed too? How?"

"His mother, Linda Bly, well he only had his mother, she worked with him on the story. She was a photographer, and she...well I should show you."

Splinter went up stairs to his room with Leonardo following. Once in the cluttered bedroom Splinter took out a box hidden underneath this desk.

"She took these photographs. The Foot found out and well..." Splinter took out a negative, and held it against the light. The insignia of the ninja revealed itself.

"That's the same marking the ninja had."

"Then it's just what I fear. The Foot is after us again."

The springs of the old mattress squeaked when Leonardo sat on the bed. Had it just been a coincidence, or were they targeted? They were they ones who went after Casey. The Purple Dragons were looking for the masked vigilante, not the children of a reporter who ages ago gave them trouble. They weren't targeted, no. Then why take Don? To use him as bate? To kill him?

The whole thing didn't make sense.

"I don't think they know who we are. They may have just taken Don to get to Casey." Which means Donny must still be alive, " They can't know that Don is connect to dad. They must think they have some random kid."

Leonardo became hopeful again. He must be alive, if they plan to get to Casey right?
