Chapter 19
A new Future
Riven felt a gust of wind at her legs. The cold air sent a shiver down her spine. She held her blade in her right hand, the magic which held it together hummed quietly. Otherwise it was completely silent. No birds were to hear, no sound of battle. Nothing. She just looked at Elena, her face showing no emotion at all.
She thought she would feel hatred or something like this. But the only thing, she felt was cold logic. She wanted to end this whole conflict, once and for all. She wanted to avenge the death of her comrades. She wanted to protect Ionia. She had sworn it! Elena's defeat would be the first step on her long journey, to create a new, pure Noxus.
'Violence to end the violence...to serve the greater good...', she thought, and tightened the grip around her blade. The leather knitted quietly. Elena just looked at her, smiling. Before she slowly started to clap her hands. Riven frowned, and watched her. The sound was strange, and didn't really fit in the valley.
‟What a great show. The best summoners, and champions of the League all gathered like I planned, and all of them are within my time stop. And...the show had just begun!", she said, and laughed quietly.
‟What's so funny? You should watch out a bit more...I'm not here to play", Riven growled at her, grabbing her blade with both hands. She prepared herself, to attack Elena and end her with just one swing, one wind slash.
‟Oh, yes you are, Riven! Put down your weapon, and let us talk a bit! You know...you're awake now, because I wanted it. Otherwise, you would stand around, just like everyone else", Elena replied amused.
‟Why should I? I can kill you right now!", Riven exclaimed angrily. With one swing, and a loud scream she released a devastating wind slash at Elena.
The summoner didn't hesitate, and just created a white magical shield around her. The earth around her trembled, but Elena wasn't injured in any way. The shield disappeared into nothing. She smiled at Riven. ‟I don't think you can."
‟You want to talk? About what? Your next great plan of destroying something I love?", Riven snarled at her. 'Shit', she thought, and crunched her teeth.
‟Oh, Riven. Why so aggressive? Everything had come down to this meeting. I would have never imagined that everything turned out this way..." Elena stretched her arms, and looked at the sky for a moment.
‟Tss...", Riven replied plainly. ‟So...what do you want?" She frowned, and stayed on her guard. She didn't trust this whole situation at all.
‟You Riven! I want only you! Oh, I know what you're thinking right now..what the hell does she mean by that?" Elena seemed to be in a rather good mood...or she was simply mad. Riven wasn't very sure about it.
‟Everything was set up again! Not even High Command nor Zaun's chairman knows anything about this. Our goal is close, Riven! It's just a few steps away."
‟Our goal?", Riven asked sarcastically. ‟I don't think that we have any common goals."
‟You're looking from the wrong perspective Riven. Just look at your for a moment! Once you were nothing more than a simple pawn! A simple soldier, moved around by some generals. But, now you're so much more! You're able to wield powerful runic magic, you're a champion of the League!", Elena said excited.
‟I ask you again, Elena: What goals? What do you want? What are you doing in Ionia?", Riven asked, her voice filled with anger.
‟So many questions...but, let us start from the beginning! Our goals, Riven? What are they? You want to create a new pure Noxus, I want to create a world where no weakness nor corruption exist. Isn't it wonderful? We both have rather similar goals."
‟Yeah..the only difference is that you want to use your little enhanced soldiers, and killing anyone who is weak", Riven replied sarcastically.
‟Oh, Riven! I think you misunderstood me. Weakness and corruption has many different forms. Weakness can be fought with technology for example. A broken man, without an arm...I can give him a new one, so he can fight again!", Elena said in a conversational tone.
‟It's the first time I hear you saying something about corruption...", Riven replied warily.
‟Change of interests. You know...I was betrayed by High Command. After your little escape, everything went down. They cut off any connections with me, they called their soldiers traitors, and so on..pretty interesting right?", Elena asked her, and smiled.
‟Wait...you worked for High Command! Even the soldiers were the elite. Why would Noxus throw them away like this?" Riven frowned.
‟They're cowards. They're not cowards like you think...they're more...far too careful! Every secret project they start is hidden from nearly everyone. Should anybody betray them, the whole project is stopped, everything destroyed and so on", Elena explained her.
‟So..they stopped your project too, because of Brian? Because they fear the punishment of the League...right?", Riven concluded slowly, and Elena nodded.
‟Yep. They hardest punishment could be that they're not allowed to participate in a League match. You know what Demacia and even Piltover would do, about such a weakness! With Brian you have a witness on your side...so they needed to get rid of me as fast as they could", Elena explained her.
‟But, Riven you know what? Let's get back to the topic...why exactly am I here?", Elena asked, and stretched her arms.
‟Well, you said that the summoners and champions are gathered here..." Riven frowned.
‟Exactly! And that's the point! I have an offer to make you...sounds not good, right? I mean I am the person who created the chemical weaponry and so on. But, you should listen to me at first", Elena said playfully, and came closer to her.
‟I'm not interested in any offer", Riven replied coldly.
‟Listen to me, Riven. I know you don't like me at all...but, I love you", Elena said, and smiled at her, while coming closer. Riven stepped back a bit. ‟So..all I want is to give you an opportunity."
Riven thought about it for a moment. She needed more time, to think about a plan of some kind. She needed something like a tactic, as she couldn't overpower her enemy with strength nor mobility nor the magical abilities of her blade. ‟Alright...I listen", Riven said plainly.
‟Then let me get to the point...we both share rather similar goals...and I could help you. Let's just say you could easily reach the position of High General of Noxus with my help. I still have friends within the city states, and within the League. You could change the world", Elena explained her, excited.
‟Me? High General of Noxus?", Riven asked doubtfully. ‟I doubt that they would accept me."
‟Noxus accept anyone who shows strength, you know that better than anyone else. Right now most of them think of you as MIA. Missed in action. Imagine this...you come back to Noxus, followed by my elite soldiers. You could easily become a general of Noxus. High General maybe", Elena said somehow dreamily.
‟High Command would call me a traitor, and banish me out of the city. I don't think Swain would allow me to interfere with his work", Riven replied calmly.
‟I told you about my friends within High Command. They can...change things, erase things...", Elena said thoughtfully.
‟You mean...you could erase my past? And with that I mean the renegade things and so on. I would come back as a hero, a liberator of some kind? A poster child again? A new age of Noxus?" Was there something like...hope in her voice? Riven swallowed for a moment. 'No...no...no! Don't trust her...', she thought, and crunched her teeth.
‟Yep, I can do that!", Elena exclaimed, a jumped a bit on the ground. ‟We could create a new age for Valoran! A new age of Noxus domination. A new world of strength and honor, like you wished."
‟There is a 'but' right? Otherwise, it sounds too good to be true", Riven asked.
‟Hm...of course. There is always a hitch. A little problem in our way, which would deny our goal", Elena said thoughtfully.
‟Let me guess...it's the League right?", Riven asked, and frowned. Even though her mind already started to draw pictures of such a future. A Noxian leader. A world of strength and honor, like she wanted. No corruption anymore.
‟The League would interfere with our work to create a new world. So..it has to be destroyed", Elena explained plainly. ‟It's corrupted anyway...just look at me. I showed them a little bit of flesh, spread my legs, and I was in.
The League forgot about their original goal, and instead they're focusing on suppressing minor conflicts like Kalamanda. Instead of don't interfere and let Demacia and Noxus trade off, they created a magical zone, which corrupted the area for the next dozens of years. There wouldn't be another rune war, both sides know very well that another war of this kind, would end the world. Nobody has an interest in that, but it look like the League has..." Elena sighed slightly, and looked at Riven.
Riven thought about it for a moment. 'She somehow has a point with that..', she thought, and crunched her teeth. The interference of the League destroyed more land, than other minor conflicts in the past few years. Maybe the Ionian war, but that's pretty much it.
‟And how exactly do you want to destroy the League? It's rather powerful, filled with summoners and champions. I don't think you alone with your little army here is enough for that", Riven asked neutrally.
‟Their precious little army is right here. General Sky, combat summoners as well as many other champions, frozen in time. Kill them off, and the trust in the League is destroyed. And without trust, it cannot exist. It's funny, isn't it? The League is powerful because it is accepted...but when this faints away, it is nothing more than a building." Elena laughed quietly.
‟The champions, as well as many of the city states summoners would be dead. The League would be responsible for their deaths...", Riven concluded, and Elena nodded.
‟Yeah. The states would call back their summoners. Why wasting resources to fight in a land, which don't interest them at all? The League would fall apart", Elena asked her, with a smile on her face.
‟Wouldn't another war occur? Without the League to hold it in check..."
‟Of course. But, with you as a leader of Noxus and myself in Zaun we would be victorious. Then we could create the new world you want so much. Strength and honor Riven...strength and honor. A continent freed of corruption of League summoners. Freed of the lies of this Demacian scum." Elena's voice sounded honest.
‟What about the persons which are close to me? Diana, Caitlyn..."
Elena shrugged, and looked at her. ‟Doesn't matter to me. As Noxus leader you can do whatever you want with them. Your servants, slaves, right hand...I don't care. What is your decision, Riven? Follow me...and gain the power to change Noxus..."
Riven looked down on the ground, and closed her eyes for a moment. Could it be? She always wished to rebuild Noxus, to come home again. She would come back as a liberator, as a strong leader. A queen in which Noxian citizens could believe in. She could change everything.
She thought about the frozen summoners, and champions. It would be so easy to kill them. A swift strike, and when the time stop fades they would be dead in an instant. She did something like this before...she assassinated an elder with one wind slash. She clenched her fists. 'For the sake of Noxus...for the future..', she thought, but doubts were already nagging at her.
She would be the one...who was responsible for wiping of the League, and starting a whole new war. 'My hands...would be stained far more...', she thought, and looked at her left hand. It shook slightly. The death of far more innocent would be...because of her. For a brief flash she saw Ardus, which looked at her. She knew what he would say.
‟You cried over our graves...and now you ally yourself with her?! Why, Riven?! What about honor? What about courage? Do you...still possess them?"
A cold blooded murderer. That's what they all would call her. Her whole adventure, her whole facing the past...everything would be in vain. She already saw Karma and Irelia, shouting at her for breaking her promise to defend Ionia, for killing Ionian soldiers.
Riven thought about Diana. Would she follow her? Would she still...love her? Her mind made up a scenery, showing her standing over Noxus, equipped with a full set of armor. Before her Diana, which turned around, and slowly walked away. Even though she wasn't a big moralizer...she couldn't watch her taking this dark path, and waging a devastating war all over Valoran. Riven was sure about that.
There was no decision to make. Hell, why did she even think about it for a moment? She wouldn't be any better. She would make a deal with the devil. Riven opened her eyes, and looked directly into Elena's, tightening the grip around her sword.
‟There is no decision here , Elena. You may have some good points...but, I will not be the one responsible for another war. The League may be corrupt...but it helped to stop far greater wars. I will find my own way to rebuild Noxus. And my first step..is to stop you. I owe this to some people...", Riven exclaimed, and grabbed her sword with both hands.
For a short moment, she believed to see some ghostly figures, behind Elena. They saluted at her. A shiver ran down her spine, as she realized that some of them wore Noxian and Ionian armor.
‟Then you leave me no choice...I offered you a way to come back...but now...", Elena sighed. She looked somehow sad, before blue magic appeared in her hands. ‟You will die here. It's not easy to kill someone you love..."
Riven suddenly felt how she lost the ground under her feet. She flew against the memorial, and moaned in pain as she hit it hard. The few ribbons on it were sent flying. She coughed multiple times, and spit out blood. Her back and shoulder blades hurt, but she still could move her arms.
‟Time to get serious then", she replied, and stood up again. With a scream she released another wind slash at Elena, but without waiting Riven followed the runic energy wave, ready to attack her directly.
Elena didn't waste any time, and blocked the energy of the wind slash with another barrier. But, before Riven could attack her with her Broken Wings combination, a giant red sword appeared out of nowhere and parried her attack. The sword reminded Riven of the ‟Bloodthirster" from the Fields of Justice.
‟I am a summoner, Riven! I have a whole arsenal of weapons and magic under my control", Elena said, and with another move of her hand, Riven was sent flying again. She landed on the ground before the memorial, and slid over the ground. Luckily, the soft, muddy ground reduced the pain. Elena held the sword in one hand, while she conjured a spell in her other.
‟That's all?", Riven replied mocking, and got up again. Elena's hand was surrounded by some blue magic, and she released the spell with a shout. A beam of pure magical energy, somehow it looked much like Lux 'Final Spark' ability. Without time to dodge, Riven simply raised her sword and released another wind slash, while holding her blade before her. She knew it was able to counter magic to some degree. She closed her eyes, as the magic clashed.
The explosion sent her flying backwards again, and she hit the memorial another time hard enough to let the wooden pile tremble. She screamed in pain, and opened her eyes. She was burnt at several parts of her body, and felt a pain when she breathed in. Obviously some bones were broken. But she was at least able to move. Riven spotted Elena. Her robe took some serious damage at some points. 'One hit...', Riven thought, and slowly stood up, readying herself for another attack.
Out of nowhere another purple looking sword attacked her, apparently with no real wielder. Riven was able to parry the attack, before the sword just vanished again.
‟You're such a great warrior Riven! You're able to fight against a summoner, against a whole arsenal of weapons. You could even avoid such devastating magic. But, as I said in the beginning...your awake because I wanted it!", Elena shouted. She snipped with her fingers, and came closer.
Another weapon from the League's arsenal attacked her, this time it was a giant axe. Riven clearly saw it coming, and raised her blade to parry the obvious strike. Then she felt pain in her side. Surprised, she looked down, and saw blood at her side, where the axe hit her. 'What the hell?", she thought. The blood dripped out of the wound. Slowly.
‟You're getting slower and slower Riven...until you stand still...", Elena said quietly. Riven turned around to Elena, trying to reach her. She couldn't catch up her movement anymore. She felt a pain in her leg, and looked down. Elena's blade had hit her, and sliced over her thigh. She slowly withdrew it from her. ‟Now...you will die..."
'Fuck...I can't die like this...I can't let her win...I just...Diana...', she thought, while time slowed down for her. It was somehow like falling asleep. Things around her slowly blacked out, she couldn't move her body anymore.
‟Let us give you a hand, Riven", a voice suddenly said within the back of her head.
Riven didn't know what happened, but she suddenly saw clearly again. Elena attacked her with the sword, wanting to impale her. Riven dashed to the side, avoiding the otherwise deadly attack. She heard a surprised scream.
‟What the hell?! You're supposed to be frozen right now!", Elena shouted, and let her fly against the memorial once more. Riven felt pain in her whole back, like every single bone was about to break. She screamed in pain, and felt a few tears running down her cheeks.
‟It's up to you Riven...", the voice said again, and Riven looked up. Around her she spotted some ghostly figures, all of them wore some kind of Noxian armor. Their faces were nearly invisible, but she knew who this people were. She even spotted some other ghostly figures, which wore Ionian armor. They looked like the same, she already saw earlier.
‟You?", she asked unbelieving, and coughed more blood. She used her sword to slowly get up again. Every move she made sent pain through her body.
‟The line between death and living is thin in this valley, Riven...let us give you a hand for the last time, before goodbye...we don't have much time...avenge us...then live! Live a happy life! We all count on you", the ghost said. His facial features reminded her of Ardus.
‟Wait..", Riven started, but the ghosts already started to disappear. With her disappearance, Riven somehow felt something like new found strength. The pain slowly drifted away, and was replaced by something she would describe as...wrath?
‟I don't know what happened to you Riven...anyway..then I kill you in the old fashioned way", she said rather calmly, and started to conjure another spell.
‟It ends here Elena...", Riven grabbed her blade with both hands, her voice echoed with might. For a moment it felt like she didn't have full control over her body anymore. ‟You...are...beyond... redemption."
She charged at Elena, releasing another devastating wind slash. The magic cut through one of Elena's spells, and was only blocked by a quickly summoned barrier of her. Then Riven was in range. She swung her blade over her head, and hit her with pure force. All runes glowed, as she just cut through the magical barrier. With one swift strike of her weapon she sliced over Elena's chest.
The summoner had an expression, like she didn't believe it. She looked down at her body, saw how the blood streamed out of the deep wound. She looked back at Riven. Her mouth moved, but no words came out. Slowly her body fell on the ground. She was dead.
‟It's over...", Riven whispered. Her blade disappeared into nothing, before she fell on her knees. She looked up for a moment. She felt a drop of rain on her cheek. 'I...did it..', she thought, before she fell into the mud and everything turned blacked.
‟How is her condition?"
‟It turned better. But, I can't say for sure how it will be, when she awakes."
‟I want to her."
‟She needs some rest right now."
‟That's why I want to be with her. We're...far more than just friends."
‟Alright, if you insist."
….
‟How long is it now?"
‟Three days."
‟Pretty long don't you think?"
‟What do you think? Using such strong magic, and fighting against a nearly High Summoner..."
‟What now?"
‟Just let her rest."
Riven slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was blurred. She laid on something comfy. A bed or something like this? Most likely. She heard two faint voices, talking with each other about something she didn't understand. The only thing she understood clearly was something like: ‟She is fine..." Then she heard the sound of a door, which was closed.
'Where am I?', she thought. Slowly her vision returned, even though she still felt strange. She looked at a complete white ceiling. There was the voice again: ‟She is awake!" Riven tried to get up into a sitting position, and tried to recognize where she was. Every part of her body hurt. She felt some bandages wrapped around her chest.
She felt something heavy on her thighs, and looked down. A silver haired person laid on them, sleeping. She knew this hair, and clothing. Then she was back completely. ‟Diana!", she said loudly, and immediately got up. She got punished by pain in her chest.
‟Riven! Lay down again...Soraka patched you up, but you're ordered to lay here for a few more days!", the voice said again, this time worried.
Riven started to look around in the room. It looked like she lay in something like a medical room. A few other beds stood around, everyone separated by some white curtains. She spotted some medical equipment. The last thing she saw, was a person who sat on a chair, right next to her bed. He wore a long blue robe. His face was clear to see. A scar divided it into two halves.
‟Welcome back, Riven", Sky said, and smiled at her.
‟Sky? Where am I?", she asked, and coughed a few times. It felt like she didn't speak a word for at least a week. Her mouth felt dry.
‟Wait a moment..." Sky grabbed a small glass, filled with water and gave it to her. Riven drank out of it, and it felt better now. ‟You're in the Institute of War right now."
‟How..? What happened?", she asked, and looked down at Diana, which slept like a stone. She had dark circles around her eyes, like she didn't sleep for days. ‟Diana?", she asked quietly.
‟Don't worry, Diana is fine. She was up for days now", Sky said calm, and smiled. ‟Well, what happened is a question I wanted you to ask. But, well let me give you a short briefing for the last days."
‟Days? How long did I sleep?", Riven asked surprised, and slowly let herself fall back on her pillow again, while looking to Sky.
‟A whole week", he answered, and chuckled slightly as he saw Riven's surprised face. He turned serious again after a moment. ‟Before I start...I have one question for you...what exactly happened between you and Elena? We found you unconscious beside her dead body. The whole area looked like two High Summoners had a battle. The ground was filled with magical energy. If a summoner channeled that much energy, it would be enough to destroy a small village."
‟I can't really tell...she asked me to ally myself with her, what I refused. After that...I don't remember very clearly..." Riven closed her eyes for a moment. She remembered the ghosts of Fury Company and the Ionians, which helped her out. She heard stories about such spirits...which took over a person, to help them out or something like this. 'Guess that happened to me..', she thought.
‟Whatever you did Riven...but with that force you could kill a High Summoner. Anyway...", Sky waved, ‟After the time stop faded, we defeated the remaining forces. Diana was the first one who realized you weren't there. I sent out troops, which finally found you. After that we instantly teleported you back to the League. You know the rest...Soraka patched you up...you were pretty much..well..'fucked up' is the correct description for it." Sky laughed quietly, before he looked at Diana, for a short moment.
‟She watched over you the whole time. I think she didn't sleep well during the whole week, if she slept at all...", Sky added. His voice sounded warm. ‟More than friends, huh?"
‟Eh...yeah...", Riven blushed a bit, and looked back to the ceiling. Sky laughed quietly.
‟Kinda interesting", Sky said, grinning before he returned to his more serious attitude again. ‟Anyway...the next days will be a bit stressful for you. Even though Brian, Vi, Caitlyn and Irelia already spoke with the council, you will be asked a few questions as well...I leave you both alone now." He nodded in Diana's direction, which moved slightly obviously waking up. He gave Riven a short salute, before leaving the room.
Diana blinked a few times and yawned shortly. She turned around her head, looking in Riven's direction. Her eyes widened slightly. ‟You're...awake...", she said quietly. Riven simply nodded at her with a smile. Forgetting everything, Diana nearly jumped on the bed, moved up to Riven's face and kissed her. Riven returned it with passion, and closed her eyes.
Then she tasted something salty, and opened her eyes slightly. Diana cried a few tears. ‟Hey..hey... no need to cry now", she said, smiling at Diana. She stroked out a strand of her messy hair hair. The make up around her eyes, was a complete mess. Seeing Diana like this..Riven didn't have a fitting word for it, but she know that she didn't want that other persons cry because of her. The last person who should do something like this was Diana.
‟I am supposed to say something like that...", Diana replied with a wavering voice, and slightly punched against Riven's shoulder. She pressed her head gently against Riven's chest, and a few more tears ran down her cheeks. ‟I...was so filled with worries about you...when I found you, and saw that much blood in the mud...you didn't react for a whole week..." Her voice failed her, and she started to sob quietly.
Riven put her arms around Diana, pulling her closer to her, ignoring the slight pain in her chest. ‟I'm not easy to kill...she tried it multiple times", she replied, and smiled down at Diana. She held to her, stroking over her head and back, slowly calming her down. She wiped away her tears, and just let her relax in her arms.
It took her a while to calm down again. Diana looked up again, her eyes were tear-dimmed, but she was able to smile a bit. ‟I told myself not to cry...I told me that..." Her voice was sill wavering slightly.
‟It's okay now...it's okay...", Riven replied, with a warm smile on her face. Diana moved up a bit, and looked into Riven's eyes. There was no need for other words, as their lips did all the talking for them.
A few days later...
The last days were stressful, just like Sky had told her. High Summoners visited her, and asked her different questions reaching from how she was able to handle Elena, a person who was nearly a High Summoner herself. Riven was pretty surprised by this fact. Then they asked her questions about this corruption within the League, her escape from Zaun, well pretty much her whole adventure starting when she joined the League. She didn't remember how often she repeated the same story over and over again.
Sky visited her regularly, and informed her about what was going on outside of her room. He told her, that the League started something like a purge within the League, controlling nearly every summoner, inviting them to the Reflection Chambers and so on. They already caught a few of Elena's accomplice, and that was just the start.
Another trial was already in motion, concentrating on Noxus and Zaun's interventions in this whole thing. Even though Sky told her, that the chance of punishment for both of them was pretty low. Like an eel they tried to get out of it. Riven wasn't very surprised about that, and simply accepted it.
And as if summoners weren't enough as visitors other champions visited her too. Of course Caitlyn, Vi and Irelia were the first ones, who asked her the exact same questions like everyone else. Diana visited her regularly too, even though she was rather busy, and summoned to the Fields nearly every day.
After about another week, Riven was finally allowed to leave the medical wing, fully recovered. And this evening would be something special again. She was dressed in her usual clothing, without any armor pieces. Her hair was open, and her sword laid safely within her room, as she wouldn't need it.
Her goal was the park behind the Institute. The same park where she first tried to summon her blade, the same park where she and Diana became friends. 'Out of this little thing...so much started..', Riven thought, and stepped in the nightly magical gardens.
She didn't need to search for long. Sitting under a tree and leaning against its stem, she spotted Diana which didn't wear any armor, just like herself. She had closed her eyes, her arms behind her head. Riven sneaked up to her, and just laid her head on Diana's thighs.
Diana opened her eyes, somehow surprised and looked down at her. Riven just grinned. ‟Did I scare you?", she asked amused, while stretching her legs.
‟Not even slightly", Diana replied, amused. Her hands gently stroke over Riven's arms and shoulders. ‟A peaceful evening...huh?"
‟Yeah..and no worries for tomorrow...at least for now. I mean it could be that the Void starts an attack tomorrow, and we need to go there, saving Valoran again and so on...you know the procedure", Riven clattered the whole thing down. Diana laughed quietly.
‟Oh, yeah I forgot about that", she replied amused. ‟So...what do we do now?"
‟Huh..we both have still something to do right? You're trying to convince the Solari, I will create a new Noxus...you know that's not something we can do in one day." Her voice sounded kidding. She purred quietly, as Diana's hand wandered between her breasts.
‟Not? I thought you would be promoted to High General tomorrow morning", Diana replied in the same tone, and grinned broadly.
‟Yeah, yeah that's right." Riven laughed lighthearted. ‟What about our relationship? I mean most people know about it anyway..."
‟Yeah, no need to hide it. Half of the League already knew it anyway...and unlike you I'm not a good actor."
‟Sounds good to me. Hate to play something like this for the whole time...", Riven said, and looked up in the night sky, which was filled with stars. The moon was again not to see. ‟You invited me here...for what?", Riven asked, and looked in Diana's shimmering silver eyes. Unlike their first meeting...they now looked just happy, filled with joy.
‟I thought we could watch the night sky again...oh, and by the way this time the other way around, just like you wanted." Diana's voice sounded amused. Riven got up a bit, and looked in her eyes, smiling.
‟You're right about it.." She moved her head a bit closer to Diana's, which bit her underlip in anticipation. ‟I love you..Diana...more than anything else."
‟I know...and I love you too, Riven..." They kissed under the light of the moon, enjoying each other lips, and touches.
Then they lay there under the tree, watching, laughing, kissing, and sharing moments with each other until late in the night, when the stars already started to disappear again. It was then, when they both peacefully fell asleep, embraced with each other. A new day would await them. A new day and a new future...in the League of Legends.
The End
Author's Note
So...yeah. This is it. The end of my very first English written fanfiction. At this point, it feels strange to end it, because I started to really like this pairing halfway through the story. Even though in the beginning I was doubtful about it too. Could such an unusual pairing really work? Well, for me yes it worked out good. It's up to you to decide ;P
Anyway...I hoped you enjoyed the story. At this point a big thanks to every reader out there! Without you I wouldn't have the motivation to keep on with the story, keeping on writing and so on.
Oh, and a big thanks for everyone who sent me a PM, wrote reviews and so on. I take every criticism very seriously, and tried my best to improve things like this. (But, I also appreciate every positive review. Those are the best anyway.. :3)
I will maybe revisit some of the older chapters, and rework some of them. No changes in the story, just changes in the style of writing, correcting grammar issues and so on. I still have my issues with it, but at least I don't have issues with writing English texts anymore. (Yay it helped me! :P)
So yeah..that's it! See you again in another Fanfiction! :D
