"Kagome was shocked. She couldn't even begin to believe that the jewel woke up. And for Kyoya no less. She was not going to let this continue to get out of hand. She couldn't keep letting this get out of hand. Her life was already complicated enough. And now she was going to have to put the jewel asleep. She couldn't have it attracting every demon in the area. She would never be able to finish high school in peace. She hadn't heard a word Kyoya was saying to her so lost in her turmoil, that it wasn't until Souta hit her that she could focus on the real world and not her thoughts.

"What was that for brat?" She asked her brother, her voice teasing.

"Sis, you really need to turn that thing off. Kyoya says you're going to attract very demon within fifteen miles if you don't mute it!" Souta said looking at her worriedly.

"Well if someone hadn't decided to meddle where he wasn't needed there wouldn't have been an issue," Kagome said narrowing her eyes at Kyoya. What she wouldn't give for those beads so she could put them around the smug rich boys neck. Instead she settled for placing her hands over the jewel and focusing on her powers, using the trick Kaede taught her to conceal the jewels powers.

"If you're putting my friend in danger I do have a right to know. Besides Kagome you know that the story isn't over yet. In the proper circles there are still rumors of the jewel. And there are still people who will stop at nothing to get their hands on the real item, its better that it's awake and you have control over it, than it waking up and you being caught unaware.

"What I want to know is how you managed to wake the jewel up. Who are you, how much do you actually know?" Kagome asked. This boy in front of her was too intelligent for someone who was brought up on the human side of things. He was too much like Naraku and Sesshomaru. He was too poised, to tightly wound to be trusted.

"That's for me to know. You're still new to this world. You have a lot of catching up to do," Kyoya informed her, pushing up his glasses.

Kagome sighed and rolled her eyes."Fine. But I know more than even you might think. I defeated the world's greatest threat and I can do it again. I know more about my powers, and the way the old magic works than someone who has spent his entire life in luxury and comfort. You would do well to remember as much."

The rest of the car ride was tense and silent with Souta looking anxiously between Kagome and Kyoya wondering what was really going on.

When they got to the Shrine Kagome walked away leaving Kyoya to go find her grandfather in order to get the fake jewels bought and see about other prop arrangements. Checking her phone and seeing nothing from her friends she sighed and plopped down on her bed. It's not like every day of her life would She groaned remembering her math work homework and pulled it out to work on it, already getting frustrated.

By the time her mother called her down for dinner she was sure Kyoya had left, and her guard was down. She had texted Sesshomaru and Inuyasha to tell them that were some developments they would have to all discuss at some point.

She thought about asked the demon for help with her math assignments but decided that was something she would have to complete on her own. There was no way she was going to be able to keep up with the group if she didn't learn to do the work on her own. She hadn't bothered to change so she threw off her uniform and put on sweat pants and a sweat shirt before heading down to dinner.

"Kagome your nice friend is going to stay for dinner, you shouldn't have stayed up in your room so long, there is so much you could help me educate this fine young man on!" Came her granddad's excited voice.

Kagome was shocked to find an unreadable Kyoya still talking with her little brother as he mom set the table. "Kyoya I thought you would have left by now, surely grandpa didn't guilt you into staying after you paid for those charms,"

"No, I found your grandfather's stories very useful, and he invited me for dinner so I accepted.

"Besides Kagome, I figured the least I could do for all your help with the club was help you with your math. I know you've been struggling, and your mom has agreed to let me spend the night since it's already getting so late and the drive back to my house is rather far. I will take you and Souta to school tomorrow."

Kagome just nodded her head, not trusting a word that came out of his mouth. She was already stressed out enough and she did not want Kyoya to continue intruding on her life. She had enough to deal without his meddling.

Besides he was dangerous, and not just to her sanity. She was already attracted to him, and she didn't need to complicate her life. She was content to suffer the rose's outcomes; she did not want to get her hopes up or anyone else's. Let alone drag anyone else into her problems.

A/N I bet you all thought I was dead. And the story died with me. Guess what guys! I'm back, and still just as terrible at writing as ever. Enjoy!

Edit, I have no idea how formatting works for fanfiction anymore, hopefully this time it works!
