I know this is REALLY short but I didn't have a lot of idea's. But I hope you still enjoy!

Chapter 5~Death and Bonds

My eyes fluttered open and I was blinded by a bright light. I blinked until my eyes adjusted and I realized I was in a hospital room. I quickly sat up as I remember being hit, and I clutched my head as a pain shot threw my skull. I felt a hand grip my shoulder and I looked over to see Seijuro.

"Sei..." I said, my voice cracking as if I hadn't spoken in ages. My eyes widened. "How long have I been out, and where's Sasha?" I asked scared.

"You've been out for about a month...you still have a few broken bones but luckily your skull was alright, although you suffered from a concussion." He said, I could see he was on the verge of tears, but I needed to know.

"Sei, what happened to Sasha?" I asked scared. I saw a tear slide down his cheek, but he quickly wiped it away.

"Shade...she's...she died. When you where hit, you hit your head on the window pretty hard and the rolling didn't do to much damage...but Mom...the car hit the driver door. As the car rolled she was bounced around a lot...when the emergency vehicles showed up, the other car had drove off and the quickly sent both of you to the hospital. But Mom...she died before they got to the hospital. They tried to revive her, but nothing worked..." We were both full out crying now. I pulled him into a hug to comfort both of us.

"Sei...I'm so sorry..." I whispered. He just gripped me tighter.

"Do you...do you think we'll be okay?" he asked quietly. I thought for a minute.

"I don't know."

I had been discharged from the hospital a few weeks ago, and Sei and I had gone to Sasha's funeral, it was a pretty ceremony. Seijuro had started closing himself off to me and police had been asking me questions, they didn't know if it was an accident or on purpose. The night after the ceremony, Sei and I were sitting across from each other on his bed in silence. After a while I spoke.

"Sei, you've stopped talking to me, why is that?" He stayed silent.

"I'm sorry Sei, I really am. If I had never come here, she wouldn't have taken me out that day and she wouldn't have died...so I'm sorry, and if you want I'll leave..." I said quietly.

"...That's not what I want. I'm still just trying to get my head around it...it still just seams like a bad dream..." he said quietly. I took his hands in mine.

"Do you trust me?" I asked

He looked up "Of course."

"Then, if you want, I can do something that will connect us, are you alright with that?" I asked

"...Yeah."

I stood up and grabbed a pair of scissors and walked back.

"This may be a bit painful." I said. He gave a nod.

"How do you know how to do this?"

"If it ever becomes necessary, I'll tell you. But for now, let's focus on this." I said quietly. I unbuttoned my shirt a little bit and pulled the right sleeve down so the top part of my chest was showing. I took a deep breath before continuing. "Use the scissors to car your initials on my chest, and then I'll do the same to you. Let's start with that..." I said.

"How will this create a connection?" he asked, I gave a small smile.

"I don't really know, all I know is that it works." He shakily picked up the scissors and held them for a second. I took his hand in both of mine. "Sei, I trust you. With this we'll be able to help each other no matter what." I let go of his hands and loosely wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Are you ready?" he asked. I gave a nod. He wrapped one arm around my waist and then he pulled me closer and then he readied the scissors. I readied myself for the pain. When he started cutting into my skin, I gasped and held on tighter. It burned, but I told myself that I would do this, for Sei. After he was done, I had slight tear tracks on my cheeks, he gave me a small kiss on the cheek then unbuttoned his shirt. He set his hands on my waist. I set one hand on his shoulder, and I took a breath. Then I started cutting my initials. When I was done, I pulled away and took his hand. I rubbed my finger over my wound and drew a symbol over his hand.

"Here, do the same thing." He gave a nod. After he was done. I walked to the bathroom and grabbed some medical supplies. I cleaned our cuts and covered them up. I pointed to the symbol on his hand.

"Don't wash that off until after noon tomorrow." he gave a nod.

"So when will this thing kick in?" he asked

"Noon tomorrow." I stated with a smile. He rolled his eyes.

"I should've guessed that."

"Now come on, let's get some sleep." I said puling him down onto the bed "It's been a long day." He gave a nod, and soon we both fell asleep.

Again, I'm sorry this is short, but it will be longer next time. you wanna know why?

Did Sasha know something was going to happen? Did she die? Does it have anything to do with Shade's father or just a coincidence? Is this what made Seijuro change or is that later? I know, a lot of questions but hopefully the next chapter can answer some. I'll just have to wait and find out. Please continue. Thanks

Me~I'm glad ^.^, no Sasha did not know that that was coming, as for Shades father? Maybe, maybe not. Nothing's set in stone yet. As for Sei's past, I'll give you the cannon rundown if you want.

Hey, just found your story and I am loving it so far! I cannot wait until she gets better at bball and becomes their manager...maybe she will even pick up her own sport to play during the off season from basketball (I think it would be really cute not only having Sei supporting her but when they get off to middle school the Generation of miracles all coming to watch her beat everyone's but because of her observation skills!) But aside from that I can't wait until she meets the GoM and the eventual her and Sei being a couple. I am currently watching KnB and am in the second season so I do not really know his backstory but I am hoping that whatever cliff you just hung that everyone is okay! can't wait for your next update and looking forward to reading your response to my review next chapter!

Me~Why thank you Tamani, and no, she will not be picking her own sport. Also, in the case of KnB I don't think there really is an off season. She'll be meeting some of the member next chapter (YAY!), and sadly not everyone was okay...but it's a part of the story and it's important. And I'll give you the cannon rundown as well if you want.
