Chapter 17: The Burning Fire

I screamed as I felt a fire burning my arm. I felt her fangs get yanked out of my arm and I heard faint screams. I clutched my arm. The fire was spreading.

"Someone, please make it stop!" I cried out. It hurt so much. I rolled onto my side and began to flail. I felt warm arms pin me down. The light was getting dimmer and I could really here anything. I could vaguely hear Seth screaming at Carlisle. "You have to do it! You're the only one with enough self-control!" I vaguely saw Seth and Danni fall over holding their hand over their ears. The pain was beginning to spread more. "Someone make it stop!" I screamed again. I felt another set a fangs enter my arm. I felt a sucking sensation and the pain began to fade. By the time it was gone I was fading into unconsciousness.

I woke up and cringed. I grabbed my arm as I felt a soreness. I looked at my arm and saw that it was bandaged up. I looked around and saw Carlisle standing by the door.

"I'm glad to see you're awake." He said

"I'm not a vamp-"

"No, I took out the poison before it could change you." He said as I sat up.

"Thanks, Carlisle." I said. I got out of bed, it was hard to walk. Carlisle help me down stairs to where I was met my many hugs. I even let Seth hug me. After he was done hugging me he kissed me on the cheek. After I got something to eat everyone told me to go back upstairs and go back to sleep. When I got under the covers there was a knock on my door. "Come in."

Seth popped his head in. "Um…hey. I needed to clear some things up with you." I looked at my hands and saw that I head my gloves on so I sat up and patted the space next to me. He came and sat down. He took my left hand in his.

"I see you kept your promise. It doesn't look like you've ever taken it off." He began to take off my gloves but I pulled my hand back. "Why won't you let me take you gloves off?"

"Because I'm not supposed to show anyone." He took my hand back. "Don't worry, you mom told me the basics. I know that you're a Siren." He took off my gloves. And looked at my crest. "Did it hurt when you got it?"

"The crest? No, but that activation of my power did hurt a little." I said quietly. He lifted my hand up and then he kissed my crest. "Now I have a question for you. Why did you and Danni collapse when I was bit?"

"You didn't have your mind barriers up, they actual kind of shattered. But basically we could here you screaming and we could feel your pain." I leaned forward and gave him a light kiss on the lips.

"What was that for?" he asked shocked

"It was thanking you for being there to help."

"Thanks, now there's something I need tell you, and your brother can vouch for me, but when we could hear your thoughts you were screaming my name."

"Seth, I don't think I was. I was just screaming."

"Let me try and show you." He took my hand and he lightly squeezed it. Suddenly I saw what Seth was seeing and hearing.

Seth! Please make it stop! It hurts so much! I heard a scream. SETH!

Just as fast it started, it ended. I looked at him shocked.

"Ivy, I have a question. Would it be alright if I sleep with you tonight? Just in case the leech shows up again?" he asked quietly.

I smiled to myself. It was just like when he first spent the night. "I'd love that." I said. He climbed under the covers with me. We were face to face and so close that I could feel his warm breath on my face. "Seth?" I whispered

"Yes?"

"Do you think you could tell me about everything that happened tomorrow? Like why I have this pain in my chest?"

"I think that'll be great." He said softly. I flipped over and closed my eyes. Then I felt Seth's arms sneak around my waist. He kissed my cheek and then I fell into a blissful sleep.

I flipped and came face to face with Seth.

"Good morning, Ivy."

"Good morning, Seth." I said. I sat up and turned around from Seth. I picked up one of my shirts from the floor. I pulled off my shirt, then slipped the clean black long sleeve shirt over my head. I turned around to look at Seth. He was beat red.

"Wow, I never thought you would act so embarrassed. I would have figured you had gone out with some girls by your age." I laughed

"Oh shut up…" he said looking away in fake annoyance. I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in." I said. Danni walked into my room. When he saw Seth he looked towards me, before he could say anything I explained. "We didn't do anything. He just spent the night just in case the vampire showed up…again."

"Well ok…any way, Rosalie needs to talk to you about your album. She said it's important."

"Ok, I'll head down in a second." I walked over to Seth and gave him a hug. "You're still going to tell me later I said. Then I ran out of my room and down the stairs. I found Rosalie in the kitchen talking to my mom. "So what do you need to talk to me about, Rose?"

"You need to pack up all your stuff and get dressed in something again." she said panicked

"Why, and why are we in such a hurry."

"We got the news late. Your album was a major hit and they want you to perform in New York in one week. That's how much time we have to take care of everything and get ready for the performance. You and I have to leave within the hour to get there and start preparing."

"Ok, I'll skip breakfast for now. Mom, can you and Danni pack all my stuff while I get ready?" I asked

"Sure, now hurry!" I ran upstairs and into my room. I saw Seth still in my bed. Sorry, Seth. Can't talk right now. My mom will explain everything. I rushed around my room and found some of my nicer cloths. I ran into the bathroom and changed. I pulled my tight black strapless shirt over my head; it showed a little bit of my pale stomach. I took off my pajama pants and pulled a puffy layered skirt up my legs. It went down to about mid-thigh. I pulled on some black tights and slipped my four inch heeled boots up to my knee. I chucked my previously worn cloths out the door then I found my make-up case. I put on some midnight blue fingernail polish the dried almost instantly. Then I put on the same colored eye shadow. I put on black mascara and black eyeliner, then I tipped my eyelashes a bright blue. I put on a midnight blue lipstick then put a faint magenta blush on my cheeks. I brushed my hair back and curled it. I used hairspray to make the curls stay in place. I rushed out and found my gloves on my bedside table. I pulled them on my hands as I rushed down the stairs. I saw my mom.

"All my clothes are on the floor or in a suitcase and my make-up and hair things are in the bathroom." I found Rosalie standing by the door with a couple suitcases. "So, are you going to kind of be like my agent?" I asked

"In a way, yes. At least until you can get one. After that I'll just be your publisher." She said smiling.

"Do you have any idea how many people bought the album total?" I asked

"Last time I checked it was at about two million." She said. I felt my jaw drop

"You're joking right?" I asked shocked

"Nope." Just then my mom came down with my things. "And don't worry too much about things that you wear. Alice is going to come a couple days after us so we can get you a wardrobe for your performances." Rose said smiling.

I gave my mom a hug. "Can you explain to Seth what's going on?" I asked

"Why don't tell him when we come to watch you?" she said

I gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Tell everyone that I said bye. See you, Mom." Then Rosalie and I ran out the door. She took my things and put them in the back of her car. Then we hopped in and sped off to the airport.
