Chapter 19: The Puzzle is Solved…Mostly, or Maybe Not?

One Week Later

School, and I thought paparazzi where bad. Everywhere I went guys were asking me out or asking for autographs, and girls were giving me death looks or asking for an autograph. Choir was amazing. I knew Melissa still hated me but she was a lot nicer. She and Ricky were still going out, and she had stopped cheating on guys. Lunch was even more so. Everyone wanted to sit with me, but I just sat in my usual spot with Danni and Alexa. The rest of the day went by like magic. The walk home was interesting. Danni decided it would be best if I rode on his back as we walked so we could move faster. It worked. No one came near us at all. Unfortunately Seth and the Cullen's went back to Alaska after my concert. I hung out with the guys a little bit more now that I wasn't so upset all the time. We even race through the forest. Sometimes I would make them angry by teleporting the last hundred yards or so. Danni said good bye to Alexa then we headed into our house.

"Hey Mom, Dad, we're home!" I yelled as I jumped off Danni's back. I headed into the kitchen and grabbed a granola bar. "Mom?" I said.

"We're in the living room, I'll be there in a second." She said, shortly after she came to the kitchen. "I have a surprise for you. Now follow me." She took my hand and led me to the living room. She pulled me into the center of the room then turned around to face me. "Now close your eyes. You'll get your surprise in a minute." She left the room and went up the stairs. I closed my eyes and let my arms hang limply at my side. Suddenly I felt a warm hand take my left hand. I felt some ones breath in my face . My eyes flew open and I saw Seth smiling down at me. I jumped up and through my arms around his neck.

"Seth! What are you doing here?" I asked happily as I let go.

"I decided that I would come back and stay here for a while." He said smiling back. Just then my dad and mom walked into the room. My dad smiled at the two of us.

"We asked him to come up for a while and he said he would like to stay as long as possible. He's going to be staying with us too." My dad said. I ran up and gave him a hug.

"Thanks, Dad." I said.

"Hey why don't you two go to the beach. Seth's been meaning to tell you something anyway." My mom said

"Ok, I just need to put my school stuff in my room. I'll be right back." I quickly put away my back pack then rushed back down stairs. Seth was waiting by the door. He took my hand and then we headed to the beach.

"Do you want to do a quick cliff dive?" he asked

"Sure, but I want to race you there." I said. He went into the bushes to phase and I activated my power. When he came back we took off towards the cliffs.

I beat him there. I sealed my power and he phased back. We headed to the edge and counted to three. On three we jumped off the cliff. We hit the water cleanly. I flipped so I could see the sun and started swimming up, but my foot was stuck under a rock. I pulled but it wouldn't work. I was running out of oxygen.

Seth, I need your help right now. My foot's stuck and I'm almost out of air. I thought. The edge of my eye sight was starting to go black. I felt the pressure go off my foot and someone help me to the surface. When I was able to I took a deep breath of air. I saw Seth towing me to the shore which we soon reached.

"Ivy, you're crazy. Every were you go you get into trouble." He said laughing.

"Oh shut up." I said. Luckily it was a warm sunny day. Seth put his arm around my shoulder and we walked down the beach. After a while we sat down on a log and talked.

"Ivy, there's something I need to tell you…about the night you were kidnapped." He said softly.

"W-what is it?" I stuttered. Why was I stuttering?

"Um…how to put this…have you heard all of the Quileute legends?" he asked cautiously

"Yeah, I've heard pretty much all of them." I said

"Well then that makes this a little easier. Do you remember the stories that talk about the wolves?"

"Of course I do, I'm living in most of them."

"Do you remember the one about how the wolves imprint?" he asked

"Yeah, I always wondered if it was true. What about it?"

"Well, when you were little and you got kidnapped, that night was the first night I saw you. Do you remember what Leah yelled at me for?" he asked

"Not really."

"Well…it was because I imprinted on you." He said softly

I was shocked. I looked at my feet. "You're lying." I said

"Ivy, I'm not joking."

How could this happen? "You're lying, please say that you're lying!" I yelled. When I saw him with the same look he had that night I took off into the woods. I was too upset to release my power. After a while I hid behind a tree. Suddenly a shock went through me and everything that happened that night came back. I began to claw at my chest as the pulled became stronger than ever. If I wasn't for the huge tree that I was leaning on, I would have fallen over. I let out a scream as blood went down my chest and stomach. My shirt clung to my body as more blood came out. I kept scratching, I needed to sever the pull. Suddenly Seth appeared out of no were. He grabbed my wrists and pinned them over my head as I tried to get away. I felt tears begin to stream down my face as I tried to struggle, but it was useless. Seth was too strong.

"Ivy! Listen to me! Pull yourself together. You're bleeding like crazy. You need to calm down so we can get you to the hospital." He said with his face so close to mine. I kept trying to get free. Suddenly I saw that night from Seth's perspective.

I saw me looking so scared and helpless in Leah's arms. I felt how Seth felt the moment he saw me. He had loved me right away. Then he felt happiness that he was the one who killed the vampire who had taken me.

"It's all a lie! It has to be?" I yelled still struggling

"Ivy! Why do you think you always felt the pull when I was away, why do you think that that pull went away when we were together. Why do you think you wanted to kiss me when we were on the beach!" he yelled at me.

"It has to be a lie…my dad wouldn't have sent me away because of the imprint. If anything it would have made him keep me! And even if it is true, why the heck have you been hiding it all this time!" I yelled back

"He sent you away because I couldn't leave, and he knew that you were special. He knew you would want to get closer right away once you were thirteen because of the time that I phased. Also the main reason was to get you away from a vampire infested area!" he yelled.

That's when I clicked. The dreams had gotten worse when I was thirteen, and then when I turned fourteen they got even worse. The reason Seth looked about sixteen. Because that was the age that he first phased. The pull became even tighter and I tried to get my arms free to scratch it even more. Seth held my wrists even tighter.

"Ivy, look at me." He ordered me. I felt the authority pull my eyes to his. "You need to except it or the pain will only get worse." He said. I felt my eyes start to slowly close with the loss of blood. Then Seth did something that was unexpected. He gave me a kiss on the lips. It wasn't one of the light ones that I gave him every now and then, but it wasn't forceful and hard either. It was like he was trying to get me to understand that he loved me and that he wanted me to love him back. The longer the kiss lasted the more I could feel what he was feeling. I realized that it was true, and that he did love me. I felt his body come closer to mine until our chests were touching and we could feel each other's heartbeats begin to fall in sync. I began to slowly kiss him back, but the loss of blood made me slip into unconsciousness.

I don't know what made me do it, but I did. It only took about ten seconds before she started kissing me back. But then I felt her go limp against my body. When I came back to my senses I realized that she was losing a lot of blood. I scooped her into my arms and started running to the Cullen's. She needed help fast. The way I had picked her up made it so that her left hand, the one with the promise bracelet. Her right hand fell down limp next to her. It moved a little bit as I ran through the forest, but that was from me jumping over longs and other things. Her head was lolled back as I ran. I heard her heartbeat begin to slow down. I needed to hurry or there was a good possibility she could die.
