Chapter 23: The Reason of Black and a the Beginning of the End

Ivy

This was heaven. Last night was amazing. Seth and I spent half of the night 'kissing' and saying how much we loved each other. My back was against Seth's chest, and he had my torso wrapped in his arms. His head was in the space between my jaw and shoulder. I could feel his even breathing on my neck, and it made my shiver. I jumped slightly when I heard the front door open and close. I reach out to Seth's mind and yelled.

"Seth, you need to wake up, my parents just got home and my door's not locked."

He sat up like a lightning bolt. He looked around the room for his shirt. After a minute he threw me mine. Before we fell asleep last night both of our shirts had ended up on the floor. One thing we had in common, we both slept with our shirts off. I put my shirt on and he did the same then I opened the door to see my dad standing there about to knock.

"Hi dad!" I said trying to hide my surprised that he snuck up here.

"Hi, I know Seth's in there. Can I speak to him?"

"Sure, come on in." I said moving out of the way. "I need to go ask mom something anyway." I ran out of there and down the stairs. I found mom in the kitchen looking tired. "Hey mom, why is it that we wear so much makeup and stuff?" I asked. She gave a smile and patted the area next to her. I went and sat down.

"In a way it hides our true faces until we find our soul mate. As sirens we can lure people in with our looks as well as our voices. The Goth like appearance helps negate that effect. And if you hadn't noticed, we also stop aging at a certain age."

"IVY!" I heard my dad yell. I flinched. My mom leaned forward and whispered in my ear.

"I know you and Seth have been sleeping together, I'll handle your dad." We both got up and headed to my room. My dad stood there fuming.

"You and Seth have been sleeping together?"

"Um…"I shifted from side to side "You see, I've been asking him to spend the night because it makes me safe and all my nightmares go away. We haven't done anything!" I said

"Embry, she's right. Remember when we were her age? We did the same thing after the vampire attacked and I got my memories back. This is no different." My mom said putting her hand on my dad's shoulder.

"This is different!" my dad yelled

"No it's not Embry!" my mom yelled, she looked over at us. "Why don't you two go to the beach, there are something's I need to discuss with your father." She said. We both gave a nod and walked quickly out of the room. The walk to the beach was silent. We sat down at one of the picnic tables and looked out at the sea. Seth took my hand and sighed.

"Embry has always been stubborn." He said suddenly.

"What where my parents like when they first met each other."

"Well, they immediately clicked I guess you could say. It only took I think four months for Embry to propose."

"That fast?"

"Well, your mom found out about what we were rather quickly. Then after she was attacked she was in a coma for a while and didn't remember anything that happened. When she did get her memory back, it was painful for all of us. She had become one of the pack after all. Shortly after that, Embry told her he didn't want to go another day without her and then he proposed."

"That sounds sweet." I said quietly

"Their story is so much better than ours, ours is way messed up."

"I kind of like our story, even if it is a bit weird." I looked over and I saw Seth stiffen. He bolted up right and looked around. "Seth?"

"Stay right there, I'll be right back." He ran into the woods.

"Finally, I was beginning to think he would never leave." I jumped and looked behind me. She jumped forward and held my head in a lock.

"Seth!" I screamed. Seth in wolf form jumped out of the trees

"Uh uh uh, stay right where you are or I'll snap her neck." She said tightening her grip around my neck. It became harder for me to breathe. She flipped me over her shoulder and took off, it was just like when I was younger. She held me close as trees went speeding by. It felt like hours before we stopped. I looked around and saw that we were in a dark hotel room. She grabbed some duct tape and tied my arms and legs, then placed a piece over my mouth. She pointed to my right, I looked over. In that corner of the room a young man was sitting there meditating.

"He's here to make sure that you can use any of your powers here. You won't be able to call for help this time." She said sadistically

I smirked, and then chuckled softly. The female vampire slapped me across the face.

"What's so funny!" she growled. I stayed silent. It may be true that they couldn't find me by normal means, but Seth always had a way of finding me himself. A smirk lightly spread across my lips. "I'll be back soon, be careful with her." She said to her companion. Then she disappeared out the window. Little did I know, she would be back soon with something that I wanted to brutally murder her for.

When that woman came back, I tried to jump of and kick her. She was holding Alexa by her neck and covering her mouth. Alexa's eyes where wide with fear. The woman's companion held me back.

"Uh, uh, uh, if you don't behave, I'm going to kill your little friend here." She said tightening her hold. My hands were tied behind me back and the duct tape was covering my mouth. She took the duct tape off.

"Please, I beg you. Let her go! She has nothing to do with this." I said

"Oh she has everything to do with this. You see, I hate you're entire family. Your father stopped me from killing your mother and now you and your twin brother both have imprints. I'm going to kill your entire family. So do you see why I need her? She's your brothers imprint, so, to make him suffer I'm going to kill her. Actually, when your family arrives, I'm going to kill both of you in front of their eyes. Your death will break down your mother, father, brother, and you mutt of a boyfriend. While this girl's death will break down your brother even more as well as her parents." She finished, throwing Alexa over next to me. She through her arms around me and started crying.

"Ivy…what's going on?" Alexa asked. I sighed

"The female vampire who took you hates my family. When my mom and dad first met, she and her companion almost killed my mom. They say that she smelled amazing. Then when I was four, I was kidnapped by the same female vampire and her companion. And now she's back. She's tired of my family getting in the way, so she plans on killing all of us." I said as calmly as I could.

"Ivy…I'm scared…" she whispered.

"I swear, I will do everything in my power to keep her from touching you, do you hear?" I said. She gave a nod. I turned to the female vampire. I stood up slowly. "You want my blood, right? I'll give you all of it if you let her go and leave my family alone." I said

"Oh? What about you little wolf buddy?"

"He would understand." I said.

"Ivy…don't do this-"

"I have to! If I don't do it…everyone I care about will die." I looked down at her as I felt tears begin to form. The only ones who had ever seen me cry where my family and Seth.

"Ivy?" she asked

"I can' lose you guys…you're my family." I whispered. The female vampire smirked and pulled me up.

"It's too late for that, little girl." Pulled my arm back, and broke the bone. I screamed. I glared at her and tried to control my breathing as I dealt with the pain.

"You asking for it you know? Our family will find you and they will tear you to shreds. You won't get away with this." I said as calmly as I could.

"My dear child, they won't find you until I want them to. Now if you excuse me, I'll be in the next room. But before I go, do you promise to behave?" she asked. I thought about Alexa, she would torture her if I did something wrong. I gave a silent nod. The woman nodded to the man in the corner and he cut the duct tape off my wrists and ankles. I shifted over to Alexa and held her. She looked scared and vulnerable. The woman left, and that was the last we saw of her, until she decided to anger me beyond reason.
