Well well well…it's been a minute, hasn't it kiddies? The itch came back finally…after months of summer work and starting another year of school, but I've been catching up on Adventure Time and my new #2 show Steven Universe, ugh, so good. Anybitch, between changing my major and some family drama past few weeks, some time to unwind and dump some daydreams on a keyboard has been long overdue. This time around I want to make it more of a hobby, this is super therapeutic to me, and I'd love to see how this fantabulous epic pans out. …Geez, what is this, a blog? ON WITH THE STORY.

Also, I don't own Adventure Time, at all. I checked.

-Chapter 5, Home Sweet Temporary Home-

Spencer followed his two hosts down the ladder and through the hallway towards his guestroom for the night. Given from the torn down paintings, ripped upholstery, and a—was that a hole in the floor? He definitely thought the old treehouse could use a woman's touch…any touch would help really. Still, he couldn't deny there was a certain warmness and comforting feeling about the place…secretly he hoped he could stay here longer than a night.

"…Aaand here's the presidential suite!" Jake finished with a huff as he kicked open the rusty hinges with an enlarged foot. "Bathroom's two doors to the right, got a couple drawers here and here, bed…there, obviously, and feel free to get a midnight snack in the kitchen down…there!" Spencer had to dodge one or two of the many hands Jake stretched out to point out everything, and chuckled he finally found some humorous people again.

"Really, this is too much, I can't thank you guys enough. Honestly I can't remember last time I crashed under a roof." Spencer finished stretching tall and popping his back.

"Well I'd say it's the least we could do, saying as how you kind of saved our lives and all." Finn said as he patted Spencer on the back in thanks.

"For sure!" Jake agreed as he nudged Spencer's shoulder with a gentle fist. "You're welcome to stay as long as you want as far as I'm concerned! How bout you bro?"

"Well duh! It'd be fun to have a roomie! I'm sure I'd take some training as rent though." Finn Joked which got a chuckle from Jake and a grin from Spencer.

"Awe, you guys feel that? That's a group hug coming on! Get in here you big lugs!" Spencer swept up Finn and Jake in a bear hug which lifted them off their feet. Spencer dropped his new friends and threw his backpack to the foot of the bed. "Seriously though, thank you guys, this was very cool of you." Spencer thanked Finn and Jake with a bow with a fist in an open hand.

"Yeah no problem…what was that, by the way?" Finn questioned at Spencer's foreign gesture.

"Oh yeah, right, that's just how we showed gratitude and respect back at the monastery, old habit." Spencer snickered scratching his head.

"Well in that case," Jake bowed in response, then Finn smiled and followed his brother.

"Okay, Okay get up! You're embarrassing me!" Spencer lightly flicked both foreheads up with a smile. They were almost a little shocked from how much force came from a little flick like that. Finn was even more amazed and had to know how to get strong like his new idol. "Well kiddos, I'm about to pass out, so I'll get out of your hair till tomorrow. Thanks again, and sweet dreams you goons!" Spencer gave a small wave as he shut the door behind him.

"Jeez, should I tell Flame Princess?" Jake asked his brother with concern.

"Tell her what?" Finn looked up from his bed over to his brother.

"Let her know how hard you were crushing on Spencer back there." Jake burst out in laughter after Finn walked right into the joke.

"Shut it Jake!" Finn threw a bundled up sock right at Jake's forehead. "I just thought it was really awesome to find another human, especially one as strong and cool as Spence is."

"I know man, just kidding around. It was pretty crazy to meet another one, I wonder what the people are like back at his island." Jake nestled into his bed.

"Who knows, all I know is I have to go there…you think…you think he would train me, or at least teach more about us, humans I mean?" Finn rested his head on the bedframe in thought.

"Oh I'm sure of it, I bet he'd make an awesome sparring partner too!"

"I'm not sure if I'm that brave yet. Even old Rattleballs got the best of me, I'd hate to imagine the beating Spencer would give me if I fought him." Finn pulled his covers up to his nose to get warm.

"Whatevs, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Night Finny." Jake rolled over and immediately starting snoring.

"Tch, night brobeans." Finn did the same and drifted off to sleep.

As Spencer removed his gear piece by piece and threw them in the nearby drawers, he began to drift away in his thoughts.

'Well this has been an eventful day, whoda thunk I would've ran in to a couple other heroes, never the less heroes that aren't huge douchers.'

He loosed the bandoliers off his chest and removed his magic weapon from the holster (that's what she said). He placed it next to the bed as it fell with a suprising amount of weight that produced a very loud thud. Sitting on the side of the bed and kicking off his boots, he sighed with relief as even a bed as old as this one was better than anything he's slept on in days. With the final step before bed, he placed his hand on his chest, and just like with his staff, his shirt and jeans glowed with pale blue runes while the fabrics morphed into a loose t-shirt and pajama pants with lightning bolt designs down the sides.

Falling down flat on the bed a smile crept upon Spencer's face. Good fight, new friends, warm bed, and the promise of new adventures around the corner.

'Jeez, this turned from a long-term recon run into a nice vacation. Who knows, maybe I'll just stay longer…boats take FOREVER to build, I'm sure, heh.' Spencer chuckled as he was growing more and more excited to see what new things he will see on this mission…after all, it's been a while since he's been to Ooo…like, a LONG time…

Finn slowly rose out of his bed with lazy eyes, being led downstairs by the scent of Jake's famous breakfast. Remembering all that happened yesterday, he smiled as he eagerly thought of all the trouble they can get in now that Spencer's around. He rounded the corner into the kitchen to find an empty table and Jake slaving over the stove, humming to himself.

Finn's face fell with the idea of their new friend ditching, without even saying goodbye. He shuffled over to the table and plopped down to await sweet, sweet breakfast food.

"Well hey there sleepyhead! How many eggs you want?" Jake asked his brother while he turned his head.

"Hhm, three I guess." Finn said dejectedly while playing with a fork.

"Trés it is! What's got you down in the dumps brosef? Jake asked as he flipped an omelet in the air.

"Spence left, didn't he?" Finn asked, almost aggravated at the idea.

"Huh, no! He took off out the door at dawn saying something about early morning training…what do you want in your omelet…Finn?" Before Jake turned to ask again, he was answered with the door slamming and Finn taking off over the hill, still putting his shorts on.

After about 20 minutes of trekking through the nearby woods, Finn came upon Spencer mediating in a clearing. The crazy part was that he was perched on a floating ball of electricity balanced on the tip of the same spear that dispatched the bandit leader. He was shirtless and wearing a pair of blue gi pants with a black belt (whatever Goku wears, except blue, don't look at me funny).

Spencer had a look of Zen and concentration as he bumped his fists together, and as a small thunderclap erupted, 5 smaller orbs of blue electricity started circling him in a helix. His hands fell back to his legs as he continued meditating.

Finn stood dumbfounded at the display in front of him. The amount of skill and concentration to pull this off, he couldn't even imagine.

"Enjoying the show there, amigo?" Spencer asked as he rotated on the ball to face Finn. Spencer cracked his neck as he continued,

"Just came out for an early morning exercise and wanted to chill out for a while, join me?" Spencer grabbed one the rotating orbs and let arcs jump to his fingertips, then let it float back in to position.

"…oh, yeah, sure!" Finn walked over to the proverbial totem pole of awesomeness Spencer sat upon and sat cross-legged next to it. A few minutes of comfortable silence passed as the two enjoyed each other's company. Finn kept shooting glances at Spencer, still deep in concentration, as if waiting for something to happen.

"So…how do you do this…like, is something supposed to happen?" Finn fell back on his hands as he looked up at Spencer.

"Well…not really. You just kind of space out and let your mind take a load off. Once your body is relaxed, the mind will follow. Just take it as time to take out the trash in your noggin. You feel me?" Spencer opened one eye and glanced down at Finn as he finished talking.

"Hhm, yeah, that makes sense. I always thought it was way more complicated, thanks there, sensei." Finn said with a smirk. Spencer chuckled at Finn's quip, Thank Glob he found funny people.

A rustling in the trees behind them made Finn jump up and look behind them, while Spencer rotating around in his position.

The source of the noise turned out to be an 8 foot black bear, with a pale blue eye, and a deep red scar over its left eye. Finn drew his sword and dropped into a defensive stance. Spencer cracked his knuckles and said with a smile,

"Well Finn, how about a spar?"

BOOM! Damn that felt good. Tell you what, the sense of accomplishment after writing some magic and putting it up for all the world to see (or despise) is a great feeling. ANYHOO, thanks for stopping by kiddies, and commentary would be awesome, and as always, have a splendidly day.
