Daniel was looking out over the Tel Aviv skyline from his office when a knock at the door woke him from his thoughts. He didn't know the woman's name but she smiled kindly 'Ari want's you in his office'

'Now?'

She nodded and Daniel glanced at his watch, nodded and wandered out and up to one of the top offices in the building. He was shown in quickly to the massive office and sat down.

Daniel leant back in the chair and Ari narrowed his eyes 'You look nervous?'

'What did you expect?'

'I simply asked you to my office'

'You never ask me your office. I have dinner at your house with your family every single week, then afterwards you and I go outside, have a cigar and talk about 'business', you haven't called me to your office for over four years'

Ari sighed and shook his head, looking resigned 'It's about Jade. She is my only Grandchild; I don't know if you understand just how important she is to me. Elena is the only child me and Rebecca had, and she chose to stay with some of her mother's family in Seattle, that was her choice, she's a grown woman. She was already five months pregnant when she came over here, and it was the first we heard about it. Elena hid out here until she was just about to give birth and then we woke up one day and she was gone… she'd gone back to Seattle. I didn't get to see Jade being born, I didn't get to hold my granddaughter in my arms, I didn't get to see her first word, her first crawl or her first steps. Do you realise what that did to me?'

Daniel nodded slowly, knowing there was nothing to say. Ari never spoke about Elena, or at least if he did it was never when Daniel was around. Even when Jade had been Israel, they had never mentioned Elena once.

'Daniel, I missed out on Jade growing up, and I don't want her to be hurt again. Elena left her as a child, and when she came here she nearly went home in a body bag. If these pictures of you two… 'together'... it is going to absolutely kill her. I am giving you this under the strictest confidence'

Daniel narrowed his eyes in confusion as Ari slid a manila folder over the desk 'what is it?'

'Despite the fact that you had sex with my only Granddaughter, I trust you and I know that you don't want these photos leaking either. This is a list of everyone who was on surveillance the night the photos were taken. It was someone on there that has been blackmailing you. Do what you want with this information'

Daniel blinked and tapped the folder 'so you are giving me a free ride on this?'

Ari nodded, standing up sharply 'pretty much. I'm the Deputy Director, I've sanctioned it. Now, off you go'

Jade was wearing a grey maxi dress and black jacket, her hair in a long side plait and she was doing Faith's hair as her daughter ate her breakfast at the table when Luke came in holding CJ and wearing a pair of jeans and a black polo top, his son happily pulling at his hair.

'Daddy look, Mummy is doing my princess hair!'

Luke furrowed his brow, looking between the two of them with confusion as Jade explained 'a French plait, it's what the princess has on that cartoon she watches, keep up Luke'

He quickly stuck his tongue out at her 'Right, well of course. Faith are you going to be a good girl today?'

His daughter gave him a look that was identical to the one Jade usually gave him 'of course Daddy, I'm not a baby'. Luke shook his head in exasperation as the doorbell went off, and he walked with CJ to open it. Grace and Carrick were there and Luke looked grateful 'come in, come in. Have you had breakfast?'

'We're fine dear, stopped off on the way over for coffee and food, are you ready to go?'

'Just about, Jade's finishing off Faith's hair and then we'll go. This little guy is going to need a long nap after lunch because he's being grizzly already, but everything should be alright. I dunno how long we'll be but-'

Carrick cut him off 'we've both got the day off and we're happy to help, don't worry about how long you're out'

It was close to two hours later when Jade and Luke were stood outside a little room at their Social Worker's offices, and after a pause they entered. It was a small room filled with light and the soft gurgling of the two little babies in the cot at the end. A female social worker smiled kindly at them, her voice quiet 'I'll just outside, if you need me then just motion to me and I'll see you through the window and I'll be right in. Is that okay?'

They both nodded and she left, though she watched them through the window.

Charlotte and Jackson had a slightly darker skin tone than Luke and it matched Jade's quite closely. They were dressed in little white onesies and lying beside each other. Jade and Luke both felt a similar swell in their chests for the little babies with their wisps of dark hair on the top of their heads.

Luke picked up Jackson and Jade held Charlotte.

In unison the babies both started grumbling and whining, but as Luke and Jade hushed them and rubbed their backs, both quietened down and nuzzled into them. They glanced at each other and didn't have to say anything, the smiles saying everything.

Thought I'd bring the mood back up a bit
