LIV'S POV
"Happy Thanksgiving Aves" i whispered as she started to stir, sucking her thumb. She opened her big eyes and smiled at me.
"Happy giving day mommy!" She sat up sleepily. It had been her first night without nightmares and i didn't sleep the whole night, i had watched her for hours. I chuckled and kissed her head.
"What do you want to do this morning?"
"Can we read?"
"You want to read?"
"I wanna read my books but i can't."
"Okay, how about today i read and when we get home we can start practicing your letters"
"Kay" she nodded and went to fetch her book. She planted herself on my lap and leaned into me as i started reading the grinch stole christmas to her. We must have spent an hour or so in bed until i heard everyone downstairs. I quickly bathed her and got her dressed asking if she wanted to go downstairs while i got ready. She shook her head and waited as i showered and got ready.
I carried her downstairs and smiled as she took in the decorated house. Emily always loved holiday's and it still made me a bit uncomfortable because i missed my dad and holiday's used to be spent just alone once he got sick.
"Good morning Libby!" Emily grinned from the stove as everyone sat around the dining room table "Morning pretty girl"
"Hi nana em"
"You two hungry? Breakfast is on the table"
I got Avery to wash her hands and sit at the table and sit beside Mason.
"She have any nightmares last night?"
"No" i said surprised
"Good, you both deserve some sleep"
"Yeah i didn't sleep that much"
"Why not?"
"I just haven't been sleeping lately" i shrugged "i'm going to get some food"
She smiled worried but nodded
"Mommy, uncle Teddy said i have a buttoned nose" Avery tried to look at her own nose making me laugh
"I think he meant you have a cute nose like a button-"
"Button's don't have noses"
"But they are small"
She formed an O with her lips and continued to eat her oatmeal. Emily had bought her a set of plastic princess dish ware so she didn't get upset when it fell.
"So, Liv how's work?" Big Gerry asked as he and Fitz came into the room. The Grants loved politics and we often had debates over meals, me usually winning the argument.
"Work is well great, i took a couple of weeks off though just to get Aves comfortable"
Big Gerry smiled at me and asked about his favourite politician other than his own son. Senator Davis who he had always wanted me to start dating. I rolled my eyes.
"Senator Davis is a nosey little-" Teddy started
"Watch your words" i warned Teddy
"He's not good enough for Liv"
"I would rather die before i started dating any politician"
Teddy laughed and i turned bright red remembering Fitz.
"No offence" he nodded and went back to his paper.
"Mommy you gon die?" Avery pouted
"Oh no! I was just joking Aves"
Avery knotted her eyebrows and pushed her nose up in the air towards the opposite way of me.
"I'm sorry, can you forgive me?"
Avery watched me from the side of her eye and smirked
"I guess so mommy"
"You guess so" i laughed and kissed her head.
"So, Edison?"
"Senator Davis wants nothing but my help to make him known bigger and maybe some action in the bedroom."
"Bigger?" Fitz asked and we all looked over towards him
'I'm on the senate Olivia, i make the law, i am the law' i rolled my eyes mocking him
"Like relax" i watched as he chuckled
"So i guess you won't like that he'll be at the gala next month" Teddy snickered as i rolled my eyes.
"I will probably have to work"
"No you won't" Emily came into the room "it's a christmas event and i expect you all to be there"
"Me too Nana Em?" Avery whispered
"Yes you too pretty girl"
Avery smiled and went back to her food. Eventually i looked over when everyone was done to see she was staring at Fitz who was speaking to Teddy.
"Avery" i whispered in her ear "it's not nice to stare"
"Sorry mommy" she turned red " i go play with Mason?"
"Sure sweetie"
"Thank you for yummy tummy Nana Em" Avery ran over and hugged Emily before leaving the room.
"She's so precious Liv!" Lex smiled
