After one week in hospital Whale had run every possible test he could run and they all said that Regina and the babies were fine. Emma had finally been persuaded to leave the hospital for a few hours at a time, but only with the promise that her parents or Henry would stay with Regina. Emma had to tend to some work, but more than that she, Ruby and David were working to make Regina's home office into a make shift bedroom for the remainder of her pregnancy.

Emma had gotten Regina to agree that the stairs were not worth the hassle and after a few months Regina wouldn't be able to scale them without help and in case of an emergency…well Emma pushed that point hardest of all, Regina needed to be downstairs. They moved her desk into the basement and moved in an old dresser of Henry's from when he was younger. Emma bought a queen mattress set and set it up opposite the fireplace. All the extra furniture was stored in the basement and Emma did her best to make the room feel as much like their bedroom as possible. Regina of course knew that Emma was setting up a bedroom downstairs, but she had no idea how much work Emma had put into it.

When Emma returned to the hospital the day Regina was allowed to come home, she quickly signed all the paper work before heading to Regina's room. Henry was sitting in the chair next to his mother's bed with a baby name book in his hands and was reading the names off rapid fire as Regina shot every single one of them down.

"Give it up kid, we'll name the second baby when we find a name that we like."

"But you won't even tell me the name of the first baby." Henry tried to pout his displeasure, but he had grown out of his puppy dog eyes and was now no longer good at getting his way through pouting.

"Guess you'll just have to wait like everyone else." Emma took the book from her son as if to signal that this conversation as in fact over. "Ready to go home?" Regina nodded and raised the head of her bed.

"Very much so."

"The nurse said they would down soon with a chair and then we can go home."

"Did you go grocery shopping?"

"You mean did I get you the latest things you've been craving? Yes, I did, because I'm the best wife ever."

"I assume that you also bought regular food for those people in the house who are not pregnant and are therefore not craving weird food."

"Of course…best wife ever." Emma seemed very pleased with herself and Regina simply rolled her eyes at her wife's enthusiasm. The nurse showed up about 30 minutes later with Regina's person items and a wheelchair for when she was ready to leave the hospital totally. Regina was ready to all but run out of the hospital room, but she knew she had to be wheeled out in the chair and that it was simply the beginning of her bed rest so she might as well get used to it. With all her things gathered up she allowed Emma to wheel her down the hall to the elevators and after riding down three floors they made their way out to the car. Henry climbed into the backseat with Regina's bag and Emma quickly helped Regina into the car in an effort to get them all out of the cold weather sooner. The trip home was drastically slower than the trip to the hospital had been earlier that week and Emma decided they had had enough excitement for a while and that a leisurely drive home, doing the speed limit, was a good way to eliminate any undo stress. When they pulled into the driveway, Regina was relived to see no other cars in the driveway, meaning her in-laws were not in her house waiting for their return. Not that she didn't love them, but she was exhausted and had no energy left that day to entertain anyone.

Henry ran inside, leaving Emma to help Regina maneuver through some of the slush that had accumulated over the last few days. Once inside Emma shut the front and started to shed the layers of warm clothes off her own body while Regina did the same.

"Are you hungry or anything?" Regina shook her head no.

"No, thank you dear. I think I'm going to go lie down for a while." Emma hooked her arm with Regina's and started to lead her down the hallway. "Then allow me to show you your temporary bedroom for the next few months." When they got to the door of the office Emma put her hands over Regina's eyes before pushing the door open with her foot.

"Ok, one, two, three. Open." Emma removed her hands and allowed Regina to finally see the completed room. Regina scanned the room and was more than a little surprised that they had managed to do some much in a week. The bed was completely made with sheet not unlike the ones that were on their bed upstairs, but these were a different color. There were pictures from their wedding sitting on top of the dresser and Emma had done her level best to make the room even smell like their bedroom upstairs. Emma caught the tearful look on Regina's face and wondered if she screwed up.

"Is it too much? I should have asked you first. I just wanted you to be able to come home and not worry about anything." Regina waved her hand to silence Emma's worried rant.

"It's wonderful." Emma beamed at Regina and quickly went over to the bed.

"There was no way for me to fit a King bed down here, but I figured a Queen bed would do ok and it seemed fitting."

"You certainly went to an awful lot of trouble for a room I'll only be stuck in temporarily."

"Correction. We'll be stuck in temporarily. I already claimed my side of the bed." Regina sat down on the mattress and looked at Emma with a soft smile.

"You don't have to move down here too."

"You know we do not sleep well when we aren't in the same bed. So until those girls are born this is our bedroom. Besides this way my work on the nursery is still super top secret." Regina smiled after taking off her shoes she got comfortable on her "side" of the bed. Emma leaned over and kissed and her nose before leaving the bed totally.

"Before we get too comfy, I have one more errand to run, but I'll be back soon and I'll grab dinner on my way in."

"What else could you possibly have to do in the middle of a day you already took off from work?" Emma smiled like a kid keeping a secret.

"You'll see. Just rest while I'm gone, Henry will get you something if you need it." Emma was out the bedroom door and Regina heard the front door shut not long after. Regina hated how tired she had been feeling that last week, but she stopped fighting it, knowing that rest was the only thing she could do to protect herself and her daughters. She didn't mean to fall asleep, but when she woke up it was because Emma was knocking on the door.

"Darling we live here, you don't need to knock." Emma only stuck her head in and smiled. "You have to shut your eyes."

"I will do no such thing, you know I detest surprises and in my condition they aren't a good idea."

"Humor me Gina." Regina sat up with her back against the headboard and waited patiently. She felt Emma take a seat on the bed and just as she was about to ask what she was waiting for she felt a very distinctive sensation. Someone, or rather something was licking her face. Emma had never been partial to licking, at least not Regina's face so Regina eyes immediately shot open and when she focused on what was in front of her Regina found herself face to face with a German Shepard puppy.

"Emma. Darling. Who's puppy is this?" Emma knew that tone. It was sickeningly sweet and dripping with venom. Emma was in trouble. Which was what she had expected.

"Yours. Well ours, but yours. Before you get super mad and file for divorce, please hear me out. You are going to be stuck in bed for a while and Henry will be a school, I'll be at work so it was either a dog or my parents hanging out with you on their days off." Regina rolled her eyes knowing that Emma was very serious. Taking another look at the puppy she reached up to scratch his ear which of course made the puppy in question very happy.

"Does it have a name?" Emma smiled wide, knowing that she had most definitely won.

"He doesn't, I figured you could name him." Emma set the puppy on the bed and he immediately started trying to climb all over Regina. He eventually managed to pull himself up onto her bump, then immediately flopped down with his head resting on Regina chest. Even Regina couldn't hide the grin that spread across of her face.

"Apollo."

"Like the god?"

"One and the same."

"I like it, but why Apollo?" Regina smiled as she pet the head of the puppy that seemed very content to take a nap on her extended belly.

"He is the god of many things, two of those things being light and darkness." Emma stopped Regina's hand with her own. "You aren't dark anymore."

Regina nodded her head silently before adding, "he is also the god of knowledge, music and healing." Emma leaned over and kissed Regina's forehead.

"Healing sounds much better." Regina agreed tearfully, "indeed it does." Regina waved her hand over the puppy's head and Emma shot her a confused look.

"What did you just do?"

"Now he knows his name and he is housebroken. I can't be getting out of bed every hour because he peed on the carpet now can I. We still need to teach him all the basic things and whatever tricks Henry can come up with, but this saves us some time and hassle."

"So you like him?" Regina looked up and smiled.

"I do, I love him almost as much as I love you and you both seem to have an affinity for falling asleep on my breasts." Emma rolled her eyes and scratched the dog's head, "watch your step there buddy, that's my territory."

"Perhaps you and Henry should go get some supplies for him?"

"Yeah, I have some in the car, but we can go pick up dog food and some toys for him. You two will be ok for a while till we get back?"

"I believe I'm stuck here until he wakes up so maybe we'll both take a nap." Emma nodded and kissed Regina quickly before leaving the room. Regina settled back into her spot and the puppy quickly burrowed into Regina as much as he could and Regina had to laugh.

"You know what little man? I hate surprises, but I think you and I are going to get a long very well, so you a one of the few surprises I actually like."
