FITZ'S POV

I stared down at Liv as she slept half on me, half on the couch. She had let down another wall when she had moved onto me. It amazed how the years apart had only made me love her more. I pushed back her loose strands from her face and watched her scrunch up her face as she woke up. She smiled and moved off of me but stayed close.

"What do you want to do tonight?" She asked yawning a bit still tired from her nap.

"A night in with my girls" i smiled as she raised an eyebrow.

"Your girls huh" i nodded as we heard little feet shuffling towards us. Avery came out of her room with messy curls, she climbed onto the couch and laid right across Liv's chest.

"Hi baby, how'd you sleep"

"Good"

"You want to take a bath? Fitz said he wants to stay in"

"Bath" she nodded and reached for me as i stood. I smiled and lifted her easily kissing her as we walked off towards the bath.

"Fitz you don't have to bathe her, you must be tired. You can relax" Liv said as i listened to Avery as she spoke about her second week of school. Liv was standing in the doorway of Avery's bathroom.

"It's okay Livvie"

"Hey! That's what i used to call mommy!"

"Yeah?" I smiled as i helped her into the bath

"Uh huh" she laughed "mommy can you play music?"

"Sure" Liv nodded and turned on some music and i watched in awe as Avery started singing loudly. Liv smiled and nodded as i looked at her.

"I'm going to go straighten this mess" Liv pointed to her curly hair that was in a bun on top of her head before i could argue she was gone down the hallway.

I sighed and turned back to Avery who was watching me.

"Do you love my mommy?"

"Yes" i answered honestly

"Do you love me?"

"Of course i do sweetheart"

"promise?"

"I promise" she smiled and i quickly washed her hair watching as she clutched my arms as i bent her over revealing she was scared of the bath. She was quiet the rest of the bath until i helped her out and got her dressed in a onesie and combed out her hair on the bed. She smiled to herself

"Mommy's singing"

"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows as i heard nothing

"How about you colour me a picture for my office Aves?"

"Okay" she nodded and walked over to her little desk that held crayons and a stack of paper.

Liv's door was opened and i listened to the soft music fill the room. She wasn't singing a happy song though but i watched as she hit the high note with such ease. She was almost done straightening her hair which still a bit longer than her shoulders. She jumped a bit as i pushed the bathroom door back.

"Avery's done?"

"Drawing me a picture" i sat down on the edge of the large tub.

"What?"

"Your voice"

"Is it bad?"

"Of course not Livvie, i just haven't heard you sing in a very long time"

"Hmm" she finished up her hair and cleaned up the counter before turning back to me.

"Your mom is taking Avery for the day tomorrow to a real tea party. Avery's excited"

"So we can talk?"

"I have to go into the office for a bit but you can pick me up if you want?"

"Sure" i smiled and pulled her towards me. She held onto both of my arms and stood in between my legs.

"I love you"

"Fitz-"

"I just thought you should hear it" i smiled as she tried to look away

"So, what are we getting Avery for her birthday?" I asked

"We?"

"We, i mean the big present"

"She really wanted a puppy"

"A puppy is a great idea!"

"Shh" she smacked my arm "don't ruin the surprise!"

"Right" i nodded and smiled "I know a guy"

"You know a guy?" She laughed

"You're dating a governor baby, of course i know a guy" it slipped before i realized "liv-"

"I'm not seeing anyone else, are you?" She whispered looking down scared of my answer. She was right she was not the same woman i had fallen in love with. She wasn't confident when it came to herself or someone wanting her.

"Of course not Livvie"

"But that doesn't mean we're together, you still haven't asked me to go steady"

I laughed as Avery came into the bathroom and showed me a colourful picture.

"Mommy showed me how to draw those stick people" she smiled proudly

"I love it, thank you sweetheart"

"Welcomes"

The rest of the night was spent watching movies and relaxing until Avery's bedtime.

"See you tomorrow princess"

"You're going home tomorrow" she pouted slightly

"Yes" i decided i would clear my schedule for Thursday and surprise her and Liv at swim class.

"But you'll be here until bedtime?"

"I promise" i nodded and kissed her head as Liv switched spots with me

"Prayers baby" Avery recited her prayers with ease and Liv kissed her nose

"I love you Avery" Liv said seriously as she tucked Avery back into the bed

"I love you too mommy"

She rolled over and stuck to her side of Liv's bed.

"I'm going to head home, i'll be back to drop you to work" i smiled as Liv walked down the hallway

"Okay" she nodded

"See you tomorrow"

"See you tomorrow" she hugged me and waved goodbye
