FITZ'S POV

"Liv!" I called as i nudged her in her sleep.

"What?" She woke up franticly "you okay?"

"I'm fine"

"Why did you wake me then?" She rolled her eyes and laid back down against her pillows.

"I couldn't sleep"

"So i have to suffer with you?" She scoffed.

"Of course" i rolled on top of her and she groaned waking up slightly

"Fitz, Avery wakes up in an hour"

"One hour to make out" i wiggled my eyebrows.

"I'm going back to sleep Fitzgerald"

I kissed him quickly and laid down facing him.

"Night Livvie, i love you"

I smiled, desperately wanting to be able to say it back. I tossed and turned when he left the bed until the door opened and Avery's wild set of curls peaked through the door. I waved her over and helped her up and smiled as her cold feet met my warm feet. She slept in her bed for most of the night until she would have a nightmare or wake up alone.

"Hi bug"

"Hi mommy" she whispered clutching her Lyssy doll. She pressed her head into my neck as i smoothed out her curls.

"Did daddy go home?" She looked around.

"No, i think he might be in the shower"

She relaxed and went back to my neck, falling asleep. I thought about how much i always wanted a child, how even though Avery didn't physically come from me i loved her more than anything in this world.

"You're thinking too hard" Fitz said, he was suddenly sitting on my side of the bed. Avery had wiggled away from me

"Just happy thoughts" i whispered

The rest of the weekend i took Mason to the museum and Avery and Fitz had their own date and on Sunday for the first time in a long time Avery was okay as Fitz was leaving.

FITZ'S POV

"Sir? What's going on with you and Olivia Pope?" Cy asked as i settled into the office on Friday morning.

"Excuse me?"

"Olivia Pope, that's her name right?" He put down a picture of Liv and I onto the table. It was the day we took Avery shopping. We were holding hands as Avery was clinging to my hip.

"Cy, this is none of your business who i date-"

"Isn't the goal getting to the white house sir? You can't do that if you're-"

"Think VERY carefully about your next few words"

"I'm just saying sir you and her may have history but-"

"But nothing, Liv.. Liv is the love of my life and while i love my job i would gladly give it up to be with Avery and her. Now, in 3 years i will run for Presidency and i will have Liv by my side"

He mumbled and walked away "oh and cyrus?"

"Yes?"

"I expect nothing but manners when you see Liv again"

"Of course sir"

When i finally got home it was just after 8 in the night. I had dismissed the security details for the night as the night time details came onto their shift. It was a little after 9 when the doorbell rang. I ran down and opened the door to the two most beautiful faces i'd ever laid my eyes on. Avery sat on Liv's hip giggling as Liv laughed at my shocked expression

"Can we come in Governor?"

"Of course!" I helped Tom bring their two bags inside

"Remind me to get you a bonus for helping us pull off the surprise, thank you so much tom" Liv smiled as Tom nodded and shook my hand.

"Goodnight"

"What are you two doing here?! I was just about to leave for the airport"

"Well, traveling can go both ways" Liv smiled and i kissed her before Avery's hand found her way in between our lips

"I didn't get one yet either daddy"

"Sorry princess!" I smiled and kissed her quickly and hugging them both.

"So, Governor, show us your mansion" Liv said as she set Avery down. I nodded taking Avery's hand and showing them around the large house that was often way too lonely to live in since all of my family lived on the east coast now.

"So Aves, which room do you want?"

"Fitz, you don't-"

"It's fine Livvie"

"I want this room!" Avery spun around in the second biggest room compared to the master

"Then that's what my princess gets" Fitz lifted her.

"Nana Em coming to get me mommy said"

"She is?" Liv nodded as she pulled on a sweater "perfect, that means we can go to a meeting tonight"

"Meeting?"

"With my co workers and staff"

"Fitz- that's your thing you can-"

I shot her a look and she sighed

"Fine but i'll have to meet you there. I have a client meeting around 8"

"I'll have Tom drive you over"

"Thank you"

I said my goodbye's to Avery and Fitz after Fitz got ready quickly and Emily picked up Avery.
