Mariana
She was sitting on the couch her knees pulled into her chest and she looked lost in thought. I put down my glass of water and went over to her and sat down. I put my arm around her shoulder and just sat there for a bit.
"Honey please talk to me. What's wrong?" i said and she looked at me.
"Everything" she said.
"Why is it that my entire family other than Jess and Sierra don't care about me enough to even hear my side of things before judging me and throwing me out on the street. Why is it that they couldn't just love me like they are suppose to?" she said and i tried to think about what to say. What is there to say in this situation?
"I'm so sorry, i know that this is hard on you. I can't imagine what you're going through right now but i'm always here for you . " i said . She turned around and hugged me and started crying. I rubbed her back and just held her.
"I love you" i said .
"I love you too"
"I found an apartment close by that doesn't cost much" she announced and i couldn't believe what i heard. She never even told me she was looking for her own place.
"You are planning on leaving?" I asked and she just shrugged.
"I thought that went without saying. i can't live here forever, Mariana. I have been here for a little more than two weeks i know i'm overstaying my welcome" she said and i just looked shocked.
"Honey they aren't like that they won't just kick you out." i said.
"I know i need my own place though… it's not that far away only like two blocks away. It won't cost that much and i'll find a job and make it work. Maybe if my parents see i can handle all that they might let me see Sierra without me sneaking her. She's bound to rat me out soon, i'm shocked she hasn't yet" she said.
"So you are actually going to move out?" i asked getting upset.
"Yeah but I'll be at school and we will hang afterwards i just won't be sleeping on your couch is all" she said.
Moving day
I put a box of art supplies on the table and looked around the not half-bad apartment. It needs some major redecorating but it will look so much better when she hangs her art gallery on the walls.
"Well it doesn't look that bad."she commented.
"Once you hang all your pictures up it will look better and i know the first picture we should hang" i said giggling.
"No we are not hanging the painting of me" she said and i pouted.
"But i thought it was good definitely my best work" i joked.
"Yes it was a great painting of a stick figure, Sierra could have done better" i opened my mouth in mock offense.
"Besides we totally traumatized you're sister" she said and i laughed.
"Callie will get over it" i said thinking back on that day.
I walked up behind her and put my head on my shoulder and looked at the painting she was working on.
"Aww i love it… what's it suppose to be" i said tipping my head sideways to try and figure it out.
"Abstract" she laughed. "I don't know either, just got bored"she admitted.
"Oh can i paint something?" i asked and she shook her head.
"Paint? You can barely draw" she teased.
"I'll have you know i draw the best stick figure you'll ever see" i told her and she laughed. She laid down on my bed.
"Fine paint me like one of your french girls" she joked and i laughed so hard.
Callie walked in and heard that and looked awkwardly away.
"Sorry… thank god she's dressed" she said leaving and i laughed harder. I painted a bad stick figure and showed it to her.
"Wow… i appreciate being given hair it makes my head look less unproportionate to my body." she commented and i giggled.
"You're giggly today" she said kissing me and i blushed.
"You're face is so red" she teased.
"No it's not" i denied and she dipped the brush in red paint and whipped it across my face. She put away the paint so i won't do the same to her and smiled evilly.
Sarah put on pandora bringing me back from my thoughts. She grabbed my hand and pulled me to her so i will dance with her. A song i don't know the name of played and she started to dance like no one was around. I laughed and decided with her being as bad as she is i can't possibly look worse than her. As we danced badly we attempted to sing along but only ended up getting about half the lyrics. I pulled her to me and kissed her.
"Whoa there is not the standard three feet in between you two" Stef said announcing her arrival . I rolled my eyes and stepped back.
"Much better Ms. Thing" she said and Sarah gave me a look of 'don't worry there will be plenty of time for us.' With Sarah having her own place we will get a lot more privacy and more time to break that three feet rule.
"Well it doesn't look to bad, you have enough to make this more liveable" Lena said. Ok so the apartment itself wasn't the best but they are right with some major changes here and there it won't be bad. Some new sheets, her art on display and some other minor stuff, it could look great.
"We have everything here?" i asked. Getting her stuff up here took longer than i thought but knowing her sister was getting an apartment Jess brought down all of her stuff from the house.
"Yeah we can start to fix this place up a bit" Mom said and i smiled.
I opened up multiple boxes of art pictures and started decorate a little. One picture, a drawing, stopped me. It was a drawing of her family all together obviously drawn by a toddler. I went to go give it to Sarah when writing on the back caught my eye.
Come home mommy i miss you was written in crayon in handwriting of a two year old. I felt a tear roll down my cheek my heart hurting for both of them.
"What's wrong?" Lena asked noticing the tear. I showed her the picture and message and wondered if Sarah ever saw it. There's a good chance she never even thought to turn the paper over. I know reading that would break heart, maybe it's best to not show her. After All there isn't anything she can do to get Sierra back. She's not her birth mom, she's only a teen and her parents haven't done anything (at least to my knowledge) that would even justify them taking Sierra from them. No point in breaking Sara's heart over something that can't be changed.
Sorry for the wait it took a long time to come up with how to continue it. Next update won't take as long i promise. Only one or two more chapters.
