Sarah

I went to her house preparing myself for the 'stay away from our little girl ' speech while also worried about Mariana. What are people saying to her? Is she going to be ok? I just can't believe this is happening. Mariana doesn't deserve any of this, not saying anybody does. 'A whore?' i thought getting pissed all over again. There are tons of girls in our school sleeping around and they never get called that yet Mariana who has slept with one person gets slammed with it.

Whatever Stef and Lena say to me today i need to bring this to there attention. This can't go without being solved and they are the perfect people to go to with this. First of all they are her parents and second Lena is the school's vice-principal who personally handles stuff like this.

"Listen before you yell at me i get that you have every reason to tell me to leave you're daughter alone. I know we probably should have waited but it just happened" i said and they looked at each other in shock.

"How old are you again?" Stef asked confusing me.

"Seventeen" i said and they both laughed.

"You sure... you act like you're twenty-five" Lena said and i was relieved that they are joking.

"Yeah i was raised to act older" i commented which is so smiled at me.

"You have always been really respectful and from what we see you make her happy. As for the matter of her sneaking out we don't want it to happen again but it prove that you are human" she said.

I laughed nervously this is going way better than i ever dreamt it would. Her moms are a whole lot cooler than my parents.

"That doesn't mean do it again. I do still have a gun, keep that in mind…." Stef started.

"Stephanie… don't threaten to shoot her." Lena warned.

"If you do anything to make her unhappy…" Stef warned and Lena pinched her.

"I wont... i promise. I would never dream of hurting her. Actually there is something i need to talk to you guys about" i said and they both sat down and Lena signaled to the chair across from her.

"What's going on?"Lena asked.

"Some girls at school are picking on Mariana" i said and i know i under exaggerated the situation. I'm sure what they are saying are worse than even Jess heard. Before me and Mariana got together she put her underwear in Chases pocket. Later she found many pairs of underwear in her situation wasn't taken care of properly. Yes she shouldn't have done it but that isn't ok for him to get away with. Now clearly she is being harassed and something should be done about it.

"What are they saying?" Lena said getting protective.

"Some girls overheard that me and Mariana…. well you know and well told people and some girls are calling her a…. whore" i said awkwardly and they both looked shocked.

"Do you know which girls?" Lena asked and i shook my head no.

"What's going on?" Mariana asked coming downstairs. I could tell immediately she was crying. Her eyes were red, she changed into pajamas and had her hair up in a sloppy ponytail. She looked so beautiful.

"Nothing honey" Stef said but Marianas glare was on me. I turned to them and they nodded. I went over and hugged her.

"You ok?" i asked and she didn't answer. I turned her around so i'm facing her moms.

"Let me talk to her" i mouthed. I know she is more likely to talk to me if i can get her alone. Knowing this too both moms nodded.

"Five minutes" Stef commanded giving me a warning glare.

"What?" she asked confused and both her moms left.

"Sarah what's going on?"

"Honey what happened at school today?' i walked her over to the couch.

"It's nothing…" she went to deny it but i stopped her.

"No… please talk to me" she sighed as if surrendering.

"Kelsey and Chase knows that we had sex somehow the whole school knows." she said and i rubbed her back.

"Did they say anything to you?" I asked and she looked down shaking her head.

"Mariana" i said she's so obviously lying to me.

"No really they didn't say anything" she said and i can't tell if she's lying this time. Considering that i don't know i decided to drop it for now.

The next day we were walking down the hallways trying to ignore the looks we were getting. I didn't tell Sarah what they said yesterday in hope that this could all resolve by itself. it's high school they will move onto the next drama soon, right. Besides she told my moms and now i have all three of the worried. Lena is the vice-principal and i'm surprised that i haven't heard either Kelsey or Chases name over the intercom. Granted it is only second period and mom has a meeting this morning so maybe she hasn't gotten to it yet. I don't want her to, it will only make things worse.'

"Aww finally the couple i've been hearing about…." some jock i don't know the name of said. "I'm surprised i haven't seen your sex tape yet" he said and i winced. Before i knew what was going on Sarah punched him. I didn't see that coming, Sarah has never been one for confrontation let alone giving a guy a black eye.

"Ow fuck" he yelled and our science teacher intervened.

"What is going on here" he said stepping in between Sarah and the injured perv.

"All of you to the office now" he said walking us to my moms office.

Mom didn't look happy when she saw us but looked a little relieved that neither me nor Sarah were hit.

"Can someone care to explain" she said looking at me and Sarah.

"Yeah that psycho punched me" he said covering his wounded eye.

"Can we start from the beginning please" she said.

"We were walking to study hall together and he comes up to us and said that he's surprised he hasn't seen our sex tape yet" i said the last three words in a whisper. Mom looked completely shocked.

"I didn't say that" he lied. "The whores lying for attention"

"Excuse me we don't use that language…"

"You're just taking her side because she's your daughter and because you are just like her" he said and i just sat back surprised at how bold he can get. Did he just call my mom a whore?

"I will not be spoken to like this. You are suspended for two weeks i'm calling your mom to pick you up in the meantime please head down to the main office" she said and i could see that she was pissed. He left mumbling something to himself about this being stupid. I looked over at Sarah and i never saw her so pissed. She didn't return my look and i turned my attention to my mom who is calling his mom. She hung up and looked at me.

"You guys ok?" she asked looking worried.

"Yeah" she responded but she still looked like she could punch someone else. Mom looked at me and I nodded.

"Unfortunately Sarah i do have to give you a week worth of detentions. He will be suspended. As for right now, Mariana, you need to tell me all the people who has been saying stuff like that to you" she said struggling to stay professional. I looked over at Sarah and she told me to tell her.

"Kelsey, Chase and a couple of other creeps" I said and Mom gave me a look asking me to specify.

"I don't know there names… i think they are older" I explained and gave her a quick description and Sarah was able to figure out who they were. Out of two boys and a girl she was able to tell mom all but the girl.

"Are you ok to go back to class" she asked and i looked at Sarah mama would either come home with us or mom would and either way we won't get time to talk alone and we need that now. If we go back to class we have study hall together and we can talk there. Besides i only have world cultures next and he will probably show us a video and Sarah has art. It's actually better to stay.

When we were out in the hall we both burst into tense laughter.

"Nice punch" i said high-fiving her.

"Yeah it's a shame he is suspended we won't get to see his eye all pretty colors tomorrow" she said laughing.

"To be honest i'm surprised you punched him, i would have been surprised if you just yelled at him" i said and she gave me a fake offended look. In all honesty though if it didn't involve me she would have just ignored it and let it go. Then again i would have punched him and the situation would just be reversed.

"Yeah well i was pissed nobody talks to my girl like that" I pulled my bottom lip into the mouth in an attempt to keep me from smiling like an idiot. 'My girl' thats the first time she called me that and i like it.

"Miss Thing are you blushing?" she teased giving me a sassy look. I want to kiss her so bad when she does that.

"Shut up" she laughed content with herself as i gave the teacher the note from my mom explaining why we are fifteen minutes late.

After our laughter died down Sarah finally mentioned what was making the conversation tense.

"Why didn't you tell me?" she asked and i looked down.

"It's just high school perverts…" i said and she looked around the room surprisingly no one was looking at us. She grabbed my hand and rubbed the back of it with her thumb.

"Honey what they were saying wasn't ok." she said.

"I know… it's just it doesn't always make it better to tell people" i said and she gave me a saddened look.

"Well you have me and even if it won't make much of a difference it's always better to talk about it and i'm always here to listen." she smiled and i smiled back.

"Besides i could have punched that Chase boy than, he isn't my favorite person" i laughed.
"i have no idea what you saw in that asshole" she said and i looked down. I don't either .

"Neither do i" i said quietly.

"It's a good thing you realized that you are gay because you have a terrible taste in men" she said and something didn't seem right about the statement. I just smiled and tried to find a way to change the conversation.

The next period Zack from the play came up to me. We were good friends for a while after play but in the last couple of weeks have been talking less and less.

"Hey you ok?" he asked and i gave him a confused look.

"Even a play nerd like me overhears stuff like the rumors about you… what they are saying isn't right and i wanted to make sure you are ok." he said and i smiled. It's nice to have someone in this school other than my sibling, friends and Sarah that doesn't think i'm a whore.

"I'm fine… just going with the flow" i said. He smiled awkwardly at me.

"Well you are really nice and sweet and you don't deserve that." he said and i feel like he's flirting.

I laughed nervously,"Thanks"

I glared at the blank paper pencil in hand trying to come up with an idea to draw.

"Maybe you should draw your little girlfriend naked Mr. Davis is enough of a creep to give you a good grade for it" some druggie whispered in my ear and walked past laughing. The idiots in my grade are no more mature than the idiots in Marianas. I raised my hand and asked to go to the bathroom. I will stop by Marianas class and get her to go to the bathroom with me.

I looked in the window and instead of getting her attention i saw her and Zac obviously flirting. I turned and walked in the opposite direction.
