Mariana

I went to my locker surprised to see that Sarah wasn't there waiting for me. She's normally already here. Oh well maybe she lost track of time in Art and is still cleaning up. I put my books in my locker and headed down to the art room. Just like I thought she was still cleaning up.

"Hey… lost track of time" i asked and she glared at me. Is she mad at me?

"No just wanted to finish up what I was working on" she said continuing to clean up without even looking at me.

"Are you mad at me?" i asked.

"What do you think?" i asked which only made her madder.

"Really Mariana? Figure it out yourself" she yelled walking out of the art room.

"I'm sorry but i just…" I said but she just flipped.

"Make up your mind, Mariana. You have to figure it out for yourself" she yelled and walked away. I sighed, this is our first fight and i have no idea what i did to get her mad.

Brandon walked up behind me," Man that didn't sound good. What did you do?"

"No clue" he laughed. I'm glad he finds my bad day amusing.

"Yeah that happens, good luck. Do you need a ride?"

"Thanks"

Sarah

I should have saw that coming. When I called her gay she looked confused. It's pretty obvious that despite everything she still isn't sure about her sexuality. I never thought a girl raised by lesbians would have such a problem with it. Doesn't she feel right with me? Does she really like that Zac boy? How could she flirt with him like that?

I heard a knock on the door and went to go answer it. Mariana stood at the other side of the door.

"How did you get here?" I asked and she walked in without my permission.

"Brandon gave me a ride"

"What happened to school and home only?" i asked bitterly and she just shrugged.

"I can make an exception. We need to talk" she said and i glared at her.

"Listen i'm sorry… In study hall you weren't mad at me what happened since then?" she asked an i sighed. I guess to her this does seem completely out of the blue.

"In art i went to your class to have you go to the bathroom with me and i saw you and that Zac guy flirting" i said and she looked surprised.

"What? I wasn't flirting… You weren't even there" she said getting frustrated.

"Oh don't turn this around on me" i said and she laughed humorlessly.

"Oh of course i was flirting since i'm the schools whore… right?" she yelled and i winced. I didn't mean for her to take it that way and i hate that she is using that word on herself. She better not believe that.

"No i don't mean it like that… You know I don't think that of you" i said.

"Than why would you just assume i was flirting?" she said and i felt bad. I shouldn't have assumed anything she's right i wasn't even there.

"I shouldn't have… i'm sorry. I didn't jump to that conclusion because i thought that. I just was…"

"Jealous?" she asked smiling teasingly.

"Yeah… jealous" i repeated ashamed.

"You have no reason to be jealous. Ok, I love you and i want you and only you" i said closing the space between us.

"I know it's just… you acted confused when i called you gay today and it made me think you were doubting us. Than it looks like you and Zac were…"

"We weren't flirting" she denied but i'm still not entirely convinced.

"Do you like him?" i asked and she looked shocked.

"What?"

"I won't get mad if you say yes… i just need to know"

"Honey nothing is going…"

"I get that nothing is going on between you two but do you like him?" she looked confused, awkward and embarrassed. She bit her lip and started playing with the ponytail around her wrist.

"Mariana would you consider yourself bisexual?" Normally I wouldn't make a big deal over dating a girl who is bisexual but if her being bisexual is making her doubt us I need to know. Her feelings for Zach are making her confused like she was less than a month ago.

Mariana

"I don't know… but i know i love you and thats all that matters. I would never do anything to hurt you" I said honestly. We kissed and i led her to the bed. I gently pushed on the bed and fell on top of her. She pulled back and i looked at her confused.

"Brandon" she explained and it took a while before i realized what she meant.

"You left him… waiting for you remember?"

"Right… crap" i kissed her and got off of her.

"I love you" i said kissing her again before running out the door to a probably impatiently waiting Brandon.

"Well that took long enough" he commented.

"Moms will be home soon"

"We will be home before them" and thankfully we were.

Stef

I came home after a shorter shift than i normally have to find Lena just starting dinner.

"Hey honey… how was your day?" i asked going over and kissing her.

"Eventful" she sighed and i know i'm about to hear something i don't want to hear.

"What happened?"

"Well when Sarah said Mariana is being picked on she was under exaggerating…" she started.

"...Some kids at school are making jokes about them making a … porn video" she said the last two words quietly, awkwardly and i can tell she feels uncomfortable. Porn video? What the hell is wrong with students? I thought people were generally more accepting than they were when i was a teenager. How could this go without being reported for this long? Thats sexual harassment and technically they can go to jail for it.

"What?" was all i managed to say through.

"Yeah supposedly they were walking down the hall when a junior boy asked when they were going to film it and Sarah punched him." she said. Sarah punched him? Good for her. It's nice to know she is sticking up for Mariana.

I shook my head in disbelief,"What's being done about it?"

"Well he got a week of out of school suspension and unfortunately Sarah has a week of detention" she said and i could tell she is mad.

"He should get more than a week technically he can go to jail for that" i yelled .

"I know… but Sanchez won't listen to me. She's not even giving Chase and Kelsey or any of the others anything because technically she doesn't have proof because it didn't happen in the hallways so she can't find it on the cameras and the witnesses won't tell us anything" she said shaking her head.

"How could a school let something like that happen without punishment?" i said furious.

"Technically they can't do anything without proof or we will have a lot of angry parents to deal with. Trust me i wish it was different but we can't prove it so we can't do anything" she said frustrated.

"We need to talk to her make sure she's ok" she said.

"Of course after dinner"

Lena

Once dinner was over we asked Mariana to stay downstairs.

"I'm fine can we just drop it" she said.

"You're just like your mom" i commented since Stef does the same thing and she knows it.

"What?' Stef said glaring at me.

"No we have to talk about this and for the record thats the same thing i tell your mom" i said and both Mariana( for having to stay downstairs) and Stef (for the comment) groaned.

"I don't do that" Stef denied and i nodded my head yes to Mariana who smiled.

"Why didn't you tell us what they were saying to you?" i said making sure not to sound accusing.

"Wouldn't have made much of a difference" she said shrugging.

"Mariana when something like that happens you need to tell us even if we couldn't make much of a difference" i said putting air quotes around much of a difference.

"First of all it can and will make a difference and we need to know that" i said.

"You need to talk about stuff like that it doesn't work well to just keep it to yourself" Stef said.

"Talk to Sarah if you don't feel comfortable talking to us" i said and she got up.

"Ok got it can i go now" she said getting up to leave.

"No we still need to talk about this." she sat down frustrated. "Honey, what all did they say to you?"

"Pretty much what that guy said… it's high school they will stop talking about it once they get new drama" she said but i can tell she's trying to convince herself that.

"Honey you don't have to let them get away what they are saying… it's sexual harassment and it's not ok and we don't allow that at our school" i said. She shrugged.

"Yeah well a lot of these things our school doesn't allow goes without anyone interfering" she said bitterly and i can't blame her. Our school prides itself on having a no tolerance for bullying policy but we know a lot situations goes without punishment.

"I know Mariana and trust me if i could change that…"

"You're the vice-principal… you can change that" she yelled.

"Mariana we don't speak…"

"No she has a point" i said looking at Stef. " There are a lot of cases that get dismissed because we don't have proof or because the witnesses won't admit to seeing or hearing what happened. Yes the school isn't perfect and yes we don't try to stop these things that happen but sometimes honey we just can't. It kills me because i know that there are so many cases that aren't even reported because the person being bullied or the witness assumes that it's high school and as soon as they find a new drama it will stop. The thing is it might stop but without interfering the just find someone else to do it too." i said and she looked down.

"Some cases might go without punishment but i guarantee it will if you don't say anything" i said and hugged her.

"Sorry"

"It's ok… let me know if this continues" she nodded and we dismissed her.

Stef sighed,"I miss the days were calling someone stupid was bullying"

"So do i, man we have to be crazy to bring in another child into this house" i said putting a hand over my stomach.

"Yes we are crazy…" she said kissing me and laughing. "Hopefully by the time he or she is having drama everybody else will be out of the house"

"We should probably tell them" i said knowing it's been almost two weeks since we figured out and we still haven't told our kids.

"Yeah family meeting tonight?" she asked.

Stef

"Brandon, Callie, Mariana, Jesus, and Jude everybody come downstairs. Family meeting" i yelled up to them getting an annoyed look from Lena.

"I could have done that" she said rolling her eyes.

"Than why didn't you?" i asked.

"Everybody front and center" i said in my best 'running a military 'voice.

"Were not running a military, Stef" she said.

"Of course not they would be better behaved if we were" i said and the kids all looked at each other confused before sitting on the couch.

"Ok ignore you're crazy mom. We have some good news " she said .

"Mama is pregnant" I said taking her hand.

"Oh my god!" Mariana said and immediately hugged us both.

"Thats great, congratulations" Callie said smiling.

"I'm not going to be the youngest anymore" Jude said. "I can't wait until he or she is born"

"Well i think you're crazy but i'm happy for you guys" Brandon said and Jesus agreed. I smiled at her and hugged her. Sure we might be a little crazy to bring another child into this house but i know we are going to be one big happy family. After all we really are becoming a modern day brady bunch.

Hope you like it. So i know i was saying only a couple more chapters but i really like this story and from what i see you guys do too so i'm going to continue it further. Scar and love or hate should be up soon.
