INT. Shawn's Apartment

(Shawn and Katy enter the apartment.)

Shawn: Girl's, Maya! Well, I guess they're not back yet.

Katy: It's only been two hours Shawn, and you sent three teenage girls out on a shopping spree in New York, of course, they aren't back yet.

(Buzz Buzz.)

Shawn: It's Maya (Text) At Ikea may be back late will get dinner in the food court. Got Marie a bedroom set for $850 will have it delivered to the apartment. Still need to find bedding, some lamps, a shower curtain, and drapes. Will try to catch the 9pm train back to the city.

Katy: Ikea? The three of them went all the way out to Brooklyn without telling us.

Shawn: It's only an hour long train ride.

Katy: In NY at night.

Shawn: Would you rather I go to Ikea and bring them home?

Katy: Would you?

Shawn: After dinner maybe I'm starved and Topanga's cooking.

(ring)

Shawn: Hello?

Maya: Shiping is ridiculous can you come pick up Marie's furniture?

Shawn: Maya you know I don't own a truck

Maya: Fine I'll call Boing.

Shawn: Who's Boing?

Maya: I meant Josh

Shawn: Should I be concerned?

Maya: It's just a nickname geez.

Riley: It's a nickname you use because you like him.

Maya: quiet riles

Shawn: I don't know how to feel about this

Maya: Then don't feel anything

Marie: Who's Josh

Riley: My 17-year-old uncle that Maya has a crush on.

Marie: So are you two like a thing?

Maya: It's an innocent flirtation totally PG. Alright, Shawn?

Shawn: Hey I'm not stopping you two, but I am telling Cory and Topanga so…

Maya: Oh Please Shawn, don't tell them Topanga will grill Josh like he's some sort of criminal.

Riley: It's too late once he knows there's no going back my dad is bound to find out.

Maya: grr! I'm still calling Josh. Bye Shawn.

(Shawn hangs up the phone.)

Katy: What was all that about?

Shawn: They wanted me to come pick up the furniture.

Katy: So are you going to?

Shawn: No I don't have a truck, so they're calling Josh.

Katy: Well I'll feel a lot safer if he brings them home.

Shawn: I won't

Katy: And why not?

Shawn: There's something going on between Maya and him she calls it a "flirtation."

Katy: Oh please. Its nothing but a schoolgirl crush. Trust me I'd know if something serious was going on besides I sorta think its cute.

Shawn: Why didn't you tell me about Josh and Maya.

Katy: Really it's not that big a deal, and why does it matter to you it's not like you're her father.

Shawn: I don't know if you've noticed, but I've been the only father in her life for over a year now. So yeah I may not be Kermit, but I am her dad.

Katy: I get what you're saying Shawn, but it's really not that big a deal.

(Shawn Tears up and sits dejectedly on the couch.)

Shawn: Katy am I a terrible person?

Katy: Of course not why would you even say that?

Shawn: Because I took Marie from her dad. I know I'm biologically her father and all but getting so defensive about Maya it made me realize Landon's been that for Marie her whole life and now I've just swooped in and taken her away.

Katy: No sweetie don't think that. Angela is sick, and you were able to help out by taking care of Marie so that he can take care of Angela that's a nice thing.

Shawn: You're right. I've just wanted a family for so long I hate to see someone else lose their's

Katy: You're a good man Shawn Hunter. Now let's go get ready for dinner Cory and Topanga will be waiting for us.

Shawn: But we still have an hour.

Katy: exactly.

(Katy walks to the master bedroom, and stops at the door.)

Katy: You coming? 😉

(Shawn quickly follows Katy to their bedroom, and they shut the door.)
