INT. IKEA Brooklyn New York.

(Maya, Marie, and Riley are looking at Bedding.)

Riley: Look at this blue rolling cart wouldn't it make a good nightstand?

(riley rolls over a blue metal cart with three shelves.)

Maya: There's a night stand with the bedroom set Riley besides I have a set list of things we need.

Mire: I don't think Shawn cares what we get besides it's my room so don't you think I should decide what I want in it.

Riley: Sorry peaches but I have to agree with Marie on this one.

Maya: Oh like anyone consulted me on my room.

Riley: What? Is there something you don't like about your room?

Maya: No I just would have liked to have decorated it.

Riley: I thought you'd like the surprise.

Maya: I do. It's not about that just forget it.

Marie: Is something wrong Maya?

Maya: I said forget about it. Do you want the rolling cart or can we get back to looking at bedding?

Marie: It might be nice for my makeup, and it is a good color you think we could find bedding this shade of blue.

Riley: Of course, we can.

Marie: have you ever thought about going into interior design Riley? You're really good at this stuff.

Riley: I never thought about that mom wants me to become a nurse since I'm good at science and helping people.

Marie: But is that what you want?

Riley: No, I've always dreamed about becoming an editor at Vouge.

Marie: well it's good to dream big.

Riley: You think so Maya always says it's silly to hope for too much.

Marie: Tosh (British word for nonsense). Now let's find me perfect bedding.

(Buzz)

Maya: That must be Josh.

Josh: Hey I'm outside Ikea, where are you?

Maya: In the bedding section on the second floor.

Josh: K be right up.

Maya: Josh is here, Finally.

(Riley runs off to look at a sequin pillow that is blue like the cart.)

Riley: Look at this Marie wouldn't look so pretty on your bed?

Marie: Yeah if you find enough accessories maybe we can just get a white comforter.

Maya: Are you two even listening to me?

Riley: Yeah Uncle Josh is here.

Maya: I can't believe you two especially you Riley.

Riley: What?

Maya: Marie's been here for less than a day and you're already acting like I don't exist it's bad enough she's taking Shawn from me now you?

Riley: Maya that's ridiculous I'm your best friend. Nobody is taking me from you.

(Josh taps Maya on the shoulder.)

Josh: Hey gorgeous.

Maya: Hi boing.

Marie: You must be Josh.

(Marie shakes Josh's hand. Marie whispers to Maya you're right he is cute.)

Josh: And who are you?

Marie: I'm Shawn's Daughter Marie.

Josh: What? I've known Shawn my whole life and he's never mentioned a kid. How old are you?

Marie: 16

Josh: And you're almost my age. Why am I always the last one to know everything?

Maya: If you came around more you wouldn't be besides we all just found out last week including Shawn.

Josh: So is your mom the famous Angela everyone's always talking about.

Marie: Yeah, she is. Why is she famous?

Josh: She's not actually famous She just was Shawn's first love and he was hung up on her for a long time.

Marie: What a funny expression hung up on.

Josh: You've never heard it?

Marie: No can't say I have spent most of my life in London so it's a bit strange hearing everyone talk here.

Josh: London that must've been incredible I've always wanted to go there.

Marie: So what brings you to New York. Did you grow up here?

Josh: No I go to NYU.

Marie: 17 and already a college man impressive I'm only a junior in highschool.

Josh: I started school a bit early and then skipped my senior year because I got into their early admissions program.

Marie: I've always wanted to go to NYU. How would I apply to the early admissions program? I've always gotten good Marks in school and was a cheer leader and on the robotics team in London.

Josh: Sounds like you'd be a good fit I can give you a tour of the campus and help you fill out the application if you like.

(Marie hugs Josh.)

Marie: Oh, would you? That would be wicked!

Josh: (laughs.)

Marie: What is it?

Josh: For America wicked is a kind of outdated expression is all.

Marie: Oh, really what would you say then

(Marie pokes Josh playfully.)

Josh: probably just

(Josh is cut off by Maya Kissing him on the lips Josh doesn't back away but has a shocked expression on his face.)

Josh: Cool.

(Maya links arms with Josh.)

Maya: So, furniture?

Josh: Right is Marie moving in with you all then?

Maya: Yes, Shawn picked her up from London apparently Angela is sick, and Shawn thought it'd be nice to get to know his daughter.

Josh: I'm sorry to hear that what's wrong with your mom?

Marie: Mum is sick, and I really don't want to talk about it so can we just drop it?

Maya: I see Riley's found bedding while we've been chatting. What's the damage Riley?

Riley: With the shower curtain and accessories I think we're around $300.

Maya: Ok why don't You and Marie check out While I go Josh where to pick up the furniture. You Remember the pin Riley?

Riley: It's just your birthday, right?

Maya: Yeah just making sure see you all in a bit.

(Maya and josh walk towards the elevator.)

Josh: I didn't say anything in front of Marie, but what was that back there?

Maya: You mean the Kiss.

Josh: Yes, I mean the kiss what else would I mean?

Maya: I think I am just jealous of Marie

Josh: What do you have to be jealous about?

Maya: She's closer to your age if she gets into NYU she'll be going to school with you. She's Shawn's real daughter and even Riley likes her. I feel like an outsider in my own life.

(Maya starts crying and Josh hugs her.)

Josh: It'll be ok Maya. No one is going to stop loving you just because Marie is here.

(Maya shoves Josh off of her.)
Maya: I never said people would stop loving me. I just don't want her walking in here thinking she can steal my life.

Josh: She's not stealing your life, and I wasn't trying to make you jealous, but she's going through a lot right now, and I was just trying to be nice.

Maya: I know. Sorry for kissing you.

Josh: What did you not like kissing me?

Maya: I did I didn't mean it like that.

(Maya starts blushing and looking embarrassed.)

Josh: I know what you meant I'm just giving you a hard time.

Maya: so, you liked the kiss?

Josh: Of course, I liked having a gorgeous girl kiss me, but I wish you would have let me make our first kiss special instead of kissing me out of jealousy.

Maya: Yeah, I really messed things up, didn't I?

Josh: Just promise me you'll let me make our second kiss a special one.

Maya: You mean you want to kiss me again?

Josh: I said I was in it for the long game six months ago at the ski lodge and I meant it. You think I would leave you over one little kiss.

Maya: I don't know maybe. You did seem to hit it off with Marie.

(Josh and Maya laugh as they make there way out to Josh's truck and get in.)

Josh: I think Marie knows I like someone else.

Maya:(sarcastically) Oh really and who could that be?

(Josh kisses Maya before starting the car.)

Josh: I think you know who Now lets pick up the furniture and find Marie and Riley before Shawn gets mad at me for having his girls home so late.

Maya: About that he may have found out about us.

Josh: What, what did you tell him?

Maya: I accidently said your nickname when mentioning you on the phone.

Josh: Oh, that's not so bad.

Maya: Yeah but then he grilled me, and Riley said that I liked you and I tried to tell him it was innocent flirting, but he didn't believe me.

Josh: Great. Now I'm going to have to hear the riot act from Topanga about dating someone three years younger than me.

Maya: I know it's not like we're going to do anything Illegal besides If anything I pursued you not the other way around.

(Riley and Marie get into the truck.)

Riley: So what are you all talking about?

Maya and Josh: Nothing.
