Hi thank you for reading it means a lot. Please review!

Chapter 6

The Ending of the Chariot Race

Cornelius had just raised his arm to throw when a scream sounded. I turned around to see what happened. I couldn't see anything. The crazy pigeons from the tree's were flying everywhere. What were those things called? Half of the Aphrodite campers had fainted due to the birds. The other half was running yelling "save the hair!"

"Heroes to arms!" I yelled, it didn't work though, no one could hear.

Percy rode next to me in his chariot, he drew Riptide and got ready. I got out my knife and started slashing. I took out the bird to my right. One down, millions to go.

In the stands it was chaos. Some spectators were trying to fight, others were running. My brothers and sisters were yelling for shields. The Apollo campers had grabbed bows, but it was too crazy to shoot without shooting anyone.

"To many!" Percy yelled. "How do we get rid of them?"

I tried to think, Hercules had fought these before I remembered. He had used noise, like brass bells.

"Hercules fought them with noise, brass bell, any horrible sound he could-" that's when it hit me, Chiron's music collection. "Percy... Chiron's collection?"

"You think it will work?" he asked, of course Seaweed Brain I thought.

I handed Cornelius the reins and hopped out of the chariot into Percy's.

"To the Big House! It's our only chance!"

Clarisse had just pulled across the finish line, when she realized that she was the only one still in the race, the rest of us were fighting. When she saw us going away she yelled, "You're running away? The fight is here! Cowards!"

Percy ignored Clarisse and pushed the pegasus into a gallop. We were almost there, through the strawberry fields and the volleyball pit and then finally we were here. I jumped out of the chariot and towards Chiron's apartment. Percy grabbed a CD and I grabbed the radio.

Finally back at the track things hadn't gotten better. Chariots were in flames, wounded campers lie everywhere while birds tried to eat them. Tantalus ran through the stands in search of food yelling, "Everything's okay! Everything is under control!"

We pulled up to the finish line and Percy put in the CD. I prayed the batteries weren't dead. Percy pressed PLAY and turned the radio all the way up.

The demon birds went nuts, flying like crazy maniacs. They ignored the track and started flying upward in a huge bird cloud.

"Now! Archers!" I yelled. The Apollo archers are quite skilled. They notched five or six arrows at once, they have flawless aim. In a few minutes the ground was covered with the dead bronze pigeons.

The camp was saved, but the wreckage was horrible. Most chariots were completely destroyed lying around the track. Everyone was wounded after being pounded on by the birds. The Aphrodite campers were screaming about their clothes and hair.

"Now lets congratulate the first ever winner!" Tantalus shouted. "Clarisse La Rue!" Clarisse stood there in shock while she was awarded with gold laurels.

"And now we have to punish the troublemakers who interrupted this race." he said, glaring at Percy and I.

Tantalus is horrible. The way he saw it was the birds would have never been attacked if they were not disturbed.

"Go chase a doughnut!" Percy yelled at him. I stifled a laugh.

"Now here's your punishment," Tantalus said smiling. "You get kitchen patrol."

We spent the rest of the afternoon scrubbing dishes. What you thought I meant normal dishes? Well this is Camp Half-Blood, we are a bit different. We don't wash dishes normally we use scorching hot lava. Percy and I had to wash with protective gear so our hands wouldn't burn. The harpies were convinced that lava killed ninety-nine point nine nine nine percent of germs (point nine higher than hand sanitizer).

Tyson of course didn't mind it. He stuck his bare hands in the lava, and got to work. Today was no ordinary day in Camp Half-Blood through, Tantalus had ordered a special meal to celebrate Clarisse's victory, which means even more dishes.

There was one good side to this punishment through, I got to spend more time with Percy. It's pretty hard to talk to a guy while your wash dishes through (especially if you wash them with lava). Percy told me his dream about Grover once again (this time I listened).

"If he really found it, and we could retrieve it-"

"Wait a second, you act like this thing Grover has, whatever it is, could save camp. What is it?" Percy asked, leave it to him not to know the Golden Fleece. He wouldn't recognized it even if he got hit in the face.

"I'll give you a hint. What do you get when you skin a ram?"

"Messy?" I groaned, Seaweed Brain is so not smart sometimes.

"A fleece! The skin of a ram is called a fleece. And if that ram happens to have golden wool-"

"The Golden Fleece? Are you serious?" he asked.

"Nope, just kidding." I said, sarcastically.

"Ha ha, very funny Annabeth."

"Percy do you remember the Gray Sisters? The things they said about what you seek. Do you remember the original real story of the Fleece?"

"Umm..."

"You are so hopeless Percy." I sighed. "The real story of the Fleece is that there was two children of Zeus, Cadmus and Europa, and they were about to become human sacrifices when they asked Zeus to save them. Zeus sent a magical flying ram with golden wool that picked them up in Greece and carried them all the way to Colchis in Asia Minor. Well technically it only carried Cadmus, Europa fell off and died along the way, but thats not important."

"It's not? It was probably important to her." Percy said.

"My point is when Cadmus got to Colchis he sacrificed the ram to the gods, and hung the Fleece in the middle of the kingdom. The Fleece brought prosperity to the lands, people lived happily. That is why Jason wanted the Fleece. It could do anything."

"It can cure Thalia's tree." Percy interrupted.

"Yes," I agreed. "But, the Fleece has been missing for centuries, no one can find it."

"But, Grover found it."

"We don't have a choice. We are going there to get it. Are you coming with me to rescue Grover or not?" I asked.

A quest is coming up! Yay! Because so far this story was going nowhere. Please leave a review, Percy Jackson would appreciate it.
