CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR

TIMMY'S DARKEST HOUR

Note-A warning this will probably be the darkest chapter I have ever written. It will largely be focused on Timmy and the events which happened to him in my story A.J.'s Doubts.

FLASHBACK TO INJURED TIMMY TURNER IN THE CELLAR AT GOLDENMILL, CALIFORNIA

Alone in the darkened cellar, Timmy was down on the ground in excruciating pain. But the broken bones did not hurt as much as Remy's cruel words and the fact he was down here alone. He had to figure out a way to get out of here. Unfortunately, the pain was too much and he passed out.

Actually, while Timmy did pass out, he did somewhat regain consciousness after a few seconds. He was in more of a semi-conscious state. Perhaps it reflected Timmy Turner's sheer will and strength. Perhaps, it was just a fluke. Regardless, it had one effect on Timmy. It allowed the small, buck toothed boy to reflect on what had just happened over the last few days.

"Your own mother wanted a girl so badly, she can't wait to get away from you," said Remy. The words ringing in his ears.

"Well, A.J.'s parents actually WANT him," another spiteful comment from Remy.

However, there were other things that his own parents said to him…,

"My dreams were shattered YEARS ago," said Mr. Turner.

"How many years?," said Timmy.

"How old are you," asked Timmy's Dad.

Then of course, there was what just happened at the campground when his parents essentially abandoned him, but not without this parting comment from his Mother:

"And they have a digital photo shop. Maybe I can alter Timmy's photos and at least make him appear in the pictures as the girl I've always wanted, but never had.

These words so sharp and painful. And so very recent. As Timmy lay face down in the dirt of this abandoned cellar, he came to a conclusion. Remy, for all of his cruelty and hatefulness, was right about. He had caused his parents nothing but misery by merely existing. He was a mistake. He was really beginning to believe everyone would be better off without him. Maybe when the Fairy Council showed him what they called the correct timeline, they were just being nice. Maybe Jorgen had been right; everyone would be better off without him.

Well, there was one good thing he could do; make sure Chester and A.J. were safe from Remy Buxaplenty, and there was only one to do that. Die down here. Once Timmy was gone, Remy would be satisfied, and the smug, rich kid would leave his friends alone. Dying down here would be easy to do. The brown haired boy couldn't move due to the broken leg and the broken arm, and he was too exhausted to move anyway. All he had to do was not say one word. Be completely silent and not draw attention. Sure the end would be painful, but appropriate. He had caused so many people so much pain, he deserved this.

Even his final resting place would be appropriate. Timmy's parents didn't need to be worried with the expense of a funeral. As they said countless times, having a child was a real drain on finances. Plus, after he passed on, his body would decay and finally there would be nothing left except his bones. And as the years went on...

"Timmy", came a muffled voice outside the cellar. At least, it sounded like the voice said, "Timmy". The voice sounded like A.J.'s. No, he was hearing things. Even then, he was still clinging to the selfish hope that he'd be saved. Timmy Turner began to drift into unconsciousness again. However, Timmy, then, heard what sounded just like some type of laser blast, and the cellar door being opened. Was he imagining that? The eleven year old got the sense that someone was down in the cellar with him.

He sensed that that someone was kneeling by him and he heard the voice again, "Timmy." It sure sounded like A.J.

"TIMMY!", said the voice much louder this time. It was A.J. What was he doing here; he shouldn't be here. Buxaplenty might come back and hurt his best friend. Well, he had to get A.J. to leave. Mustering all of his strength, the brunet rolled over on his back, despite the pain, and saw A.J., there with a medical bag.

A.J. had never forgotten the look on Timmy's face. It was a look of utter despair, pain and hopelessness. Although the link between him and Timmy had not fully established itself, A.J. knew Timmy well enough to now he was utterly distraught, and broken. And he knew something else which he was about to share with Remy.

"When I found Timmy in that cellar," said Dimmsdale's resident genius, "not only was he physically hurt; he was in despair. He had given up, and it was because of not only what you did do him, but also what happened since the Darkness came."

"I know that," said Remy.

"Yes", said A.J., "but what you may not know is that Timmy probably suspected something; he probably realized that you didn't have me or Chester hostage. However, the reason he did what you said and didn't even try to escape from the cellar was if there was even a small chance that you might hurt me or Chester, he would protect us even if it meant giving his life. And on top of that, you ridiculed Timmy's compassion for his friends and his family and even for you. Timmy's friends and godparents realized this, so you need to understand even if we start to give you the benefit of the doubt, it's going to take time, a very long time, for people to warm up to you.

Later that evening

In Dimmsdale, on the street in front of the Turners house, two boy and a platypus approached the drive where the mailbox was at.

"Okay," said Perry, "this is the entrance to Peter the Panda's old command center. This code should still be in operation."

"Is the tunnel still in one piece," asked Phineas?

Perry nodded and the trio got closer to mailbox and the platypus punched in a code. Suddenly, though, there was a female voice,

"Ah-Ha, Phineas and Ferb you are SO busted."

Timmy Turner laid in bed, somewhat tired, but still awake. He reflected on A.J.'s perception; it was difficult to hide things from A.J. Almost as difficult as hiding something from Wanda. What his best friend said was true. The one thing that Timmy could not bear is if something happened to people he cared about, and he would give his life to prevent such a thing.

A.J., seemed to have a pretty good idea of how much despair Timmy was in. He wondered if A.J. knew that Timmy had come to the conclusion he'd have been better of if he'd died in that cellar.

"Yeah, Timmy," said a voice, "I did."

Timmy turned around and saw A.J. standing before him.

There was Candace standing there. Suddenly, Phineas said,

"Quick, Perry, put in the code now. We need to get down there.

Perry complied and Phineas, Ferb and Perry the Platypus jumped into the opening.

"Oh, no you don't," said Candace who got ready to jump in behind them.

She couldn't; the opening had closed. Candace stared angrily at a figure just behind her.

"All right, Django," said the sixteen year old, "now what do we do?"

"You really know me well, A.J.," said Timmy.

"Well, I've known you a long time, plus the link has just made us...

Suddenly, there was a rattling coming in from above them. It sounded like someone was inside the roof sliding down. There WAS someone. To Timmy's shock, two boys, and what looked like a platypus, feel from the ceiling and landed on top of A.J.
