Scott waited for me to fall asleep, and he went downstairs to talk with Stiles, Isaac, and Brian.
"What do you think Derek told her?" Brian said.
"What she told us." Scott said.
"You believe her?" Isaac asked.
"Yes. But there has to be something more that she either doesn't know or just isn't telling us."
"Maybe. What was up with how she was acting when you came?" Isaac asked, looking confused. Ariel started waking up, so Isaac carried her upstairs and then came back down. Brian waited for Isaac to come back before he answered.
"I don't know. She's never acted like that before." Brian said in a soft tone.
"That wasn't her." Scott said, kind of sad at my reaction.
"I think something big is going to be happening, and we're just too blind to see it." Stiles mentioned with a blank look on his face.
"How do we stop it?"Brian said, looking at Isaac, Scott, and Stiles.
"We need to get ahold of Allison." Stiles said, looking at Isaac.
"I've tried. She isn't answering." Isaac said, angry.
"Well if she'll answer to anyone, it'll be you." Scott said, smiling.
"I'll keep trying. What happens if she won't answer?" Isaac said, worried,
"Then we'll go find her." Brian suggested. Isaac's phone rang.
"Perfect timing." He said, answering the phone with a sigh of relief. He puts it on speaker.
"Isaac-" Allison said.
"Hey." Isaac said, smiling.
"Allison?" Scott said leaning closer to the phone.
"Is that Scott? What are you doing with them? Am I on speaker?" Allison said, angry.
"We need your help." Brian said, hoping she'll respond better to him than she did to Scott.
"With what?"
"Derek said you would know everything."
"What do you mean by everything?"
"Derek took Ashley and something happened in the time she was gone. He directed her your direction and said that you would know." Stiles said, taking the phone from Isaac.
"Stiles...that I would know what?"
"How to kill an Oni." Scott said. Allison gasps, and doesn't say anything.
"Allison? Are you there? Hello?" Isaac said, waiting for a response.
"Yes. I'm here. We can't discuss this over the phone. I'll be there in 15 minutes." Allison said before hanging up the phone.
"Can someone please explain to me what the hell are the Oni? Why do we need Allison? Why did Derek want to keep us from graduating?" Brian questions as Scott and Stiles converse amongst themselves.
"The Oni are creatures of the night. They only come out as the sun is set, and disappear as the sun rises. They have no faces, and are good fighters." Scott said.
"What do you mean no faces?" Brian asked, confused.
"They have masks, but behind the masks, there's nothing." Stiles explains.
"How does this affect us?" Brian asked, still trying to grasp this whole concept since he was a new young little wolf.
"They will kill us if we get in their way. Just like we know what they are, they know who we are. If they want something, they'll get it." Scott said, looking in Brian's direction.
"Why does Derek want to kill the Oni?" Isaac said as the thought crosses his mind.
"That's a question for your girlfriend." Stiles said, pointing to Scott.
"She said something about a fire. The fire that killed Derek's family?" Scott said, sitting down.
"Oh thought to have killed. Remember...Peter and Cora just showing up? Let's not forget about Laura..." Stiles said, sitting across from him.
"Who are Peter and Cora? Who's Laura?" Brian said, hoping they'll slow it down a bit.
"Peter, Cora, and Laura are Derek's brother and sisters. They supposedly died in the fire 6 years ago-" Stiles explained, but Scott interrupted.
"Laura was dead for sure. Ashley mentioned something about Laura wanting to come back to this world, so she possessed Ashley, but Derek wouldn't allow it so Ashley promised to help Laura find someone to live in and in return, Laura will help us." Scott said, realizing how unreal that really sounded.
"Do we trust them?" Isaac asked.
"Do we have a choice?" Scott said.
"Can we make a promise right here?" Brian said, looking at them with a serious look on his face.
"This isn't a time to play that stupid game, Brian." Stiles said.
"No, let him talk." Scott said.
"Thank you. Let's promise right now...that whatever may come of the issue that Derek was talking about, we protect the girls. No one leaves their sides and we protect them, no matter what." Brian said, looking at Isaac, then Scott, and then Stiles.
"Okay." Scott said.
"I will, too." Isaac said.
"I'm in." Stiles said. They continued talking all through the night.
