Hey everyone, happy Friday, time for another update. So I know I left you in a cliffhanger, love doing that, so let's see what's gonna happen to Cole now. Enjoy. :)
Chapter 14: Unknown Location
The sun shined brightly across the desert, the Sea of Sands. Three shadows casted across the sand dunes as three helicopters flew across the sky. Attached to the middle one were four long cables connecting to a silver capsule with a circular window over a face. A person was inside the capsule. Inside was a teen with thick black shaggy hair and bushy eyebrows, but couldn't see his eyes as they were closed. He was also muscular for a teen his age and has the power to perform Spinjitzu and his element, Earth.
Cole.
General Ross peered through the small window of the helicopter to smirk as the Hulk was still unconscious from the sedative. Soon we'll see the power in you. he thought and felt the carrier lowering its altitude. They were almost at the base.
Out on a square landing pad, four soldiers caught the swaying capsule as it landed and unlatched it from the carrier to move aside to allow it to land itself while the escorts flew away. Sand blew in all directions from the rotar blades as the helicopter landed and the engine whined as the pilots were killing the engine. A ramp slowly opened lowered from the back of the transporter and Ross walked down with Blolsaky by his side. The general headed for the capsule as it was loaded onto a cart and looked at the soldiers to nod and they began to push the cart into a small bunker with the doors shutting behind them to a platform. Suddenly, the floor clanked and began to desend into the ground by an elevtor on an angle.
As the elevator desended, Ross kept looking at the capsule with the unconscious teen inside. How was it possible for him to have that power and survive? The general looked away as the elevator stopped to gaze around the base. Deep under the sand, the base was unknown than the Ninjago Special Forces center in Ninjago City. Soldiers in camouflage and scientists in lab coats buzzed around the main floor while heading for the upper or lower floors. The walls were lined with pipes around the main floor while they disappeared down the maze like halls. The base had everything a base could have. Conference rooms, bunk quarters, medical bay; everything.
Ross had to admire the work that has been put into the Forces and followed the crew off the elevator. He walked up to the capsule again and peered through the glass to see the teen still unconscious. But then, the teen groaned and slowly stirred his head. He was starting to gain consciousness. Good. the general thought. He averted his gaze away to his men and crossed his arms. "Get him prepped before he gains conscious." he commanded. "I like to see him getting used to his new home."
...
Cole groaned as he slowly opened his eyes to a bright light and quickly shut them from the intensity. He slowly slid his eyes open again and felt them adjusting. Once his vision adjusted, he found himself in a room with steel walls. He furrowed his brows and felt his throat was dry and his head swimming in pain like he was clubbed in the back of the head. He reached up to rub his temples, but felt that he couldn't move his arms or legs. Curious, the black ninja looked at his arms to see them stretched out and cuffed by metal bars that looked like he was restrained to the table he was lying on that was raised up on an angle; like he was standing almost. He looked down to see himself no longer in his black shorts but a pair of grey sweatpants and his black tee shirt and his legs were cuffed too. He began to struggle, but the metal felt cold and began to panic on his surroundings. "Where am I?" he wondered.
The sound of a door opening made Cole lift his head up to see who was responsible for his abduction. He remembered being in the Misty Forest until he passed out from a sedative. He felt his muscle tensing up as a man he doesn't know walk in with another person he slowly recognizing, but still fuzzy on his appearence. "You're in the Ninjago Special Forces base." the snow-white haired man answered. "I'm General Ross and this is my lieutenant, Blolasky."
Ross? Blolasky? Cole wondered. Why do those names sound familiar? The black-haired teen looked around his surroundings and then his restraints. "What do you want with me?" he demanded. "And why do your names sound familiar?"
"That first question is confidential, Hulk." Ross retorted. "And for the names, my lieutenant here is the founder and helper of the Nanomeds with his partner."
That's now why the names and appearence sounded familiar. Blolasky was at the ball and tried to shut the lead doors, but wounded up unconscious until Cole took the gamma blast. Then for his partner, that was Betty. Betty Ross. Cole then realized that the general must be related to her. But why did he call him Hulk? "Betty." he breathed a small whisper.
Ross huffed. "So you do know my daughter." he said and started heading for the door. "Tomorrow, we're gonna perform tests to see if we can help you. We know what is inside you and want to help. For now, we'll let you get settled. Blolasky?"
The lieutenant turned his gaze at the general and Cole and headed out the door with the general and shut and locked it; leaving Cole alone. There was a buzzing sound and the locks around Cole's restraints released the black ninja and he slumped to the floor. The earth ninja picked himself up and dusted himself off to glare at the people who abducted him. He kept shifting his gaze around his surroundings as he found a bed in the room with a personal bathroom. "They want me prisoner than help." he said to himself. He doesn't know to trust them at all, but if they have a way to get rid of the Hulk in him, he'll have to force himself to trust them. He looked around his...cell to sigh now.
He wants to be back home.
...
Back abroad the Destiny's Bounty, the Ninja gazed upon the giant computerized map to search for Cole. A couple days have passed since the abduction in the Misty Forest and there hasn't been any signs of his whereabouts. Like he doesn't exist anymore. "This is starting to get stupid, guys." Jay whined. "Cole has been missing for a couple of days now and he could be anywhere. We don't even know where they took him."
Zane looked over at the blue ninja to give him a small hard stare. He couldn't give up just yet. Cole was still out there. But Jay was right though. He could be anywhere and they don't know where. "We can't give up now, Jay." he said, confidently as a second-in-command would say. "Our brother is still out there and they don't know what they're dealing with."
"But they didn't specifically tell us why they took him." Laurie pointed out. "Who were they anyway?"
"Who cares." Lucas interjected. "I want to get back at the guy who shot me. Sudden needle pricks are not that great you know." he exclaimed while rubbing his still sore shoulder.
Zane walked up to the keyboard to type and change the map to show pictures of General Ross and Blolasky. The Ninja of Ice has been doing some research of them since they returned home from the forest. "I've been doing some research of this special forces, but I couldn't find much." he explained. "The Forces has been around apparently, not that long, but I couldn't get anything else to know more. Almost like they don't want people spying on them. Mainly us."
"Still doesn't explain why they would want with Cole." said Kai. "Why take him?"
Suddenly the door opened and everyone quickly turned around to a stance to the threat of the sudden intruder. But they relaxed their muscles as the intruder was a girl. A girl around their age with long black hair with bangs above her light blue eyes. Zane studied the face and easily recognized the girl. "Elizabeth?" he inquired.
Betty slowly caught her breath as she ran from her car to the ship and up two flights of stairs to reach them. "You guys are really hard to find especially in a flying ship." she blurted out.
Sensei Wu, fully recovered to walk, walked up to the girl with a warm smile. "Pardon me, but what brings you to our home, Elizabeth?" he asked, curiously.
Betty caught her breath and looked at the elemental ninjas. "Please call me Betty." she said. She looked at the group and furrowed her brows as she couldn't find Cole in the group. Where was he? "Where's Cole?" she asked. Everyone looked at each other on his disappearence and didn't reply. The raven-haired girl didn't like the looks of it. "Where is he?" she asked again. "I know what happens to him and have to talk to him before it's too late."
Zane looked at the others to sigh. He didn't know how to break it to her on the bad news. Sighning, the nindroid stepped up to her to place a glove hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news Betty," he said. "but some men have abducted our brother and we don't know where they took him. I'm sorry."
No. She knew she didn't like the look of it. She was too late. "Dammit." she cursed under breath so the young boy didn't hear her. Now what is she suppose to do. She has the research to help, if not cure him. But she needed him. She looked at the six ninja and samurai and removed the white ninja's hand. "I need you all to help me get Cole back." she said. "I know the people that took him and I trusted one of them. Please help me get him back."
Sensei Wu looked at his students and then at Betty. She must have information that may help his student, but how does she know the people. The elder nodded his head to everyone. "We'll help you to retrieve our brother back." he said and everyone nodded in agreement to the crusade. "But how do you have personal connections to these people?" he asked.
Betty smiled inside. She was grateful to know they'll get Cole back so she could help him before the people she knows do something to him. "I'll explain to you later about the connection." she said. "But I have to do something really quick." and started heading for the door.
"Uh... What would that be exactly?" Jay asked, curiously.
Betty reached into her pockets of her black pants and pulled out her cell phone and quickly dialed the number she needed. "I have to make a quick call." she replied and placed it to her ear. "To my father. General Ross." and left to head for the deck.
Everyone looked at each other surprised on the sudden news and turned their gaze to the picture of the elderly man with snow white hair and mustache. Father!?
...
Cole gazed around his cell as he stepped out of his personal bathroom and after a quick shower and change of clothes. All day for him has been sort of weird to him. He was mostly held up in his cell with medical doctors pouring to take blood samples and heart rate checks. They even gave him his old watch after the abduction. He hated the feeling of being a prisoner. Mostly held up in his cell and having meals come from the door. That's what gave him the feeling. And they won't tell him why they're doing these tests to him when he asked them. Sighing, the black ninja ran his hands under the sink faucet to splash water on his face and began brushing his teeth.
As he brushed his teeth, Cole heard his door being pulled open and turned his head to see Blolasky walking in. He felt anger crawl up his spine as he saw him working for Betty's father when he was her partner. He could feel her betrayal. Angirly, he spat out the toothpaste and rinsed his mouth without looking at him in the eye. "Betty trusted you." he growled coldly. "And you betrayed her to follow her father."
Blolasky froze to the words and narrowed his dark eyes. He doesn't know everything. "You don't know anything about me or Betty." he grimaced. "What I'm doing may be betrayal to her, but I'm only doing my job."
"Then why are you here then?" Cole asked back and dried his hands off. He glared at the lieutenant while tossing his towel onto a chair. "What do you want?"
"I've been sent to retrieve you." he replied. "We're gonna conduct further experiments on you to see how we can use that thing in you."
"For what!?" the earth ninja exclaimed. "You can use my blood and the Nanomed to make other people like me. You were suppose to help the world. Not turn me into the Hulk. Everything will be blamed on you for what you've done to the people in the future." He heard his watch going off and slowly took deep breaths to calm himself down and heard the beeping stop. That was too close again. "You will fail and won't get away with it."
Blolasky slowly walked up to him and quickly slammed his fist into Cole's abdomen. The earth ninja gasped to the punch in his gut and tried to suck in a breath as he slumped to the cold floor. "I want to see that power!" he demanded and grabbed a handful of his hair to lift his head forcefully and land a blow to his temples. Cole saw what he was doing to hear his watch go off and quickly thought of his mountain like how Lucas taught him. Blolasky saw his watch easing down and sharply kicked him in the ribs. "Unleash it!" he shouted. Cole groaned to the pain on his body and kept thinking of the mountains. The lieutenant was starting to lose his patients and quickly landed another blow to his temples to leave him in a daze. "Very well." he said and walked to the door while a small handful of soldiers were rushing in with a gurney. "By the way," he paused while standing at the door. "You're wrong. We will get away with it. You can't do anything about it to stop us." and left.
Cole glared at the back of his head while he felt himself being lifted and placed on the gurney. He slowly heard his watch stop beeping while his limbs were being strapped down. He tried to fight back, but was weak and tired while his body was in pain. He couldn't fathom it though. Someone was actually strong as him. He had different punches from everyone else to make him slump to the floor, but Blolasky managed to make him fall quicker. How? Cole kept figuring it out how while he was being rolled away with darkness creeping up on him and closed his eyes as the darkness surrounded him.
Ooh I left you in another cliffhanger. I love doing this. What's gonna happen to Cole, well you'll need to wait next week and find out. Have a wonderful weekend and see you all next week. :)
