"It would seem that the humans have developed quite the fearsome weapon." A man spoke examining Issei's unconscious body.
"Don't call my handsome pawn a weapon Beelzebub" Serafall's voice called back heavily offended by Beelzebub's comment.
Issei was currently in the underworld after agreeing to let the devils examine his implants.
"I'd prefer it if you'd call me by my name if you'd be so kind." Issei's voice came from a nearby computer screen. Issei was currently hooked up to computers and scanners that allowed the devils to see his upgrades without cutting him open, Eve was still at home while Issei was putting his body through different tests in front of Beelzebub and Serafall.
"Ok Issei, that unknown modification on your left hand, let's see it and see if we can identify it." As ordered Issei sent the command from the computer to his body and summoned the gauntlet. After looking at the item then back at a computer Beelzebub took on a look of disbelief.
"Issei, what you've got here is a very powerful sacred gear, it's called Boosted Gear and enables the user to double his or her strength every 10 seconds until the power is activated. It comes from the heavenly dragon known as Ddraig, a dragon we killed alongside the angels and fallen angels hundreds of years ago."
Serafall seemed shocked but remained silent looking at her unconscious pawn's body. Issei ran through the devil computer trying to find reference material on the artefact, he noticed reports on known users, as well as reports on how they interacted with the gauntlet. Previous users were reported talking to the gauntlet and having the gauntlet talk back, not referring to it as boosted gear but using the name of the dragon that it came from, Issei couldn't wait to try this out but had to wait till the end of the 'examination'.
After the examination had finished Issei shifted his consciousness back into his body and woke up. As he was walking back to an awaiting car that belonged to Serafall he tried to communicate with the gauntlet through his neural link, to be met with silence.
As Issei and Serafall entered the car it drove off towards a tunnel, Issei and Serafall talked about Sacred Gears, Issei's implants and how devil society worked, Issei took note of who was important and who wasn't meaning Serafall, Beelzebub were his top priority, Rias and other high class devils second most important and everything else was below them.
The car passed by a huge floating structure that was moving across the sky, Issei caught sight of it and was awestruck by its sheer size.
"That's Beelzebub's flagship, it's a titan class warship, one of 4, there's mine, Beelzebub's, Asmodeus's and Lucifer's. We each have one to lead different fleets, servants get battleships and cruisers about ten times smaller, and smaller ships are given to high class devils and their peerages. That reminds me, you need one as well as a crew, so what type do you want and I'll have it built." Serafall explained as Issei scaled up the ship, it must have been at least 15km long, and was covered in guns. Issei had a think of which ship he'd like but would have to see them up close before he chose one.
The sight of the huge warship changed as the car entered the tunnel leading back to the human world, as the car exited on the other side Issei looked back to see the tunnel that they had just come through had an illusion spell cast on it making it look like it collapsed years ago making sure no human ever stumbled into the underworld by accident.
After pulling up outside Issei's house Issei stepped out and Serafall thanked him for his time, before the driver pulled away. Issei entered the house to find Eve staring at the TV screen with Issei's bank account which now totalled about $900,000 and a stock that was rapidly increasing tucked on the corner of the screen. After Eve sold the stock Issei's account jumped another $5000. Issei sat down whistling at how much work Eve had done over the past 3 weeks.
The next day Issei had the day off and had decided to have a late night walk through the park, as he neared the fountain he felt uneasy, like someone was following him, he turned around and spotted his shadow.
"Who are you? And what the fuck do you want?" Issei asked, annoyed that the person was trying not to alert Issei to his presence. A man in a long overcoat stepped out from behind a tree applauding Issei on noticing him.
"Well done on spotting me, devil. It would seem I wasn't silent enough to sneak up on you and take you out without a fight. Judging from the fact I can't feel the presence of your master I'm assuming you're a stray, well then this is going to be a pleasure." The man spread 2 black feathered wings, looking similar to a crow he shot into the sky and brandished a light spear.
"Not that you'll have time to remember it but my name is Dohnaseek and I will be the one ending your life tonight!" the fallen angel threw his spear at Issei but as the spear was about to hit Issei moved to the side drawing his nova blade. Spreading his own wings Issei soared into the sky after the fallen angel.
Issei managed to dodge the fallen angels spears and as he was about to strike the fallen angel raised a hidden light sword from under his overcoat, Issei took the blade to his side, and could feel the burning the blade was causing, it was way worse than when he was training with the military and took an incendiary round to his arm. Issei took a slash with his nova blade and managed to take the fallen angel's arm clean off. Soon afterwards both fell out of the sky heavily injured.
Issei woke up the next day in his bed, meaning someone had to have carried him here, and since only Serafall and Rias's peerage knew where he lived he assumed it was one of them. Issei looked to his side where he took the light blade but the wound had gone, he hadn't used his repair nanites since their reservoir was still full. He quickly flashed up his status screen to see all the external and most of the internal damage had been healed, the only damage that hadn't healed was a small internal scratch to one of his ribs, which was still burning like it had only happened a few seconds ago. Issei set his repair nanites to repair the left over damage and tried to get out of bed.
Issei soon found he couldn't move, he was being pinned in place by something, soft and warm, it wasn't unpleasant being stuck like this but he really didn't like being restrained, it felt too much like the day he was kidnapped by the government. With his free hand Issei threw the covers back to see what was penning him in and the culprit wasn't exactly what he was expecting.
'Rias!? Holy fuck, Rias in my bed, completely naked, wait a minute.' He slapped himself hard across the face. 'Ok so I am awake, but what the actual fuck? This is awesome.' Issei then felt Rias shift her weight and her eyes flickered open.
"Issei? Is it morning already?" Rias yawned as she released Issei's arm from her vice like grip. Issei looked at his clock which read 12:30PM, and looked back at his still naked master.
"Errm no it's half past boobs, I mean noon." Issei could barely get his thoughts straight while his eyes wandered up and down Rias's naked body. 'Damn if only I could get a piece of that action I'd die a happy man, or devil, fuck whatever I'd walk into the afterlife high fiving everyone I saw.' Issei was so entranced by Rias's perfect body that he hadn't noticed Eve pop up on his TV screen.
"Issei, you might want to get up it's nearly one in the afternoo… I'll come back later." Eve then disappeared from the screen. Issei's face had a sheer look of horror as he turned again to face Rias, she was sat there watching Issei curiously.
"So does every day start like this at your place?" Rias asked playfully twirling her hair around her finger.
"No, most days there isn't a naked girl in my bed when Eve come in to wake me up." Issei struggled to keep his face from lighting up with joy while at the same time trying to keep eye contact with Rias.
After Rias got dressed and left Eve began giving Issei a hard time over what had happened that morning.
"So, you and Rias? Anything exciting happen?" Eve asked while trawling the stock markets.
"Unfortunately not, at least I don't think we did. Anyway you would know more than me since you were active when we got home." Issei shot back at his AI.
"All I saw was Rias bring a badly injured Issei back into the house and said she was going to treat your wounds. I didn't think that meant fucking you." Eve was pushing Issei to set him up.
"I honestly don't know what happened, I was busy managing stocks and trawling for information about you on government data sites." Eve said innocently not looking Issei in the face.
"You mean you were looking for cat memes on the internet?" Issei asked unimpressed
"I mean I found the bloody cat memes and couldn't be fucked to move." Eve answered while keeping her eyes glued to the TV screen.
"You're an enhanced AI, you didn't even need to move to see what was happening." Issei was getting frustrated at how laid back Eve had become.
"There's only so much processing power I can dedicate to operations and all of it went on cat memes." Eve answered back gaining a smile on her face.
"You've got enough processing power that you could run an entire fleet of warships and still provide drone cover for 40 miles in any direction." Issei was actually impressed at how she had sent so much power focusing on cats.
"Yeah, there were a lot of them." Eve just hung her head nervously poking her fingers together.
"Whatever, I'm going for a walk around town." Issei said in defeat as he grabbed his coat.
"Try not to get knifed again." Eve shouted as he left, Issei sticking his middle finger up as he closed the door.
It was late in the evening and Issei wasn't far from home when he heard something land behind him. He looked round to find a fallen angel with her wings still spread out.
"So you're the one who took Dohnaseek's arm? You don't look like much, well let's see if you'll die this time." As the fallen angel charged at Issei he put out his left hand and as if on instinct the boosted gear appeared on his hand and fired a large red ball of energy at the fallen angel. When the dust cleared she was lying on the floor, her clothes completely charred until she stood up and they simply disintegrated. Her bare naked body on show was her signal to retreat, while Issei took in the visuals, as quickly as she had appeared, she vanished.
Issei pressed on home hoping the rest of his walk would be nice and peaceful. As he walked along, two things were going through his head. 'That was a sight to behold, saving that in the visual wank bank.' And 'damn I'm sick of walking, definitely need a car.'
Well this chapter introduces 2 things, the fallen angels and a plot piece that will play a role further on. As for the devil warships, I plan on basing them off the ships from a game called Eve online, an MMO set in space where players pretty much do as they please. So yeah there's that, if you're wondering what the ship looked like, just search Erebus titan in google images, you should get an idea on its scale. Also I'm going to put up a poll for which ship Issei choses to command, you can view any of them through google images so you can see just what you want him to pick. Also I need 4 names for the 4 Titans, one for each devil king. Anyway I'm off for the night so I'll pick this up as soon as I can.
