Back in black. I hit the sack. I've been too long and I'm glad to be back.
That's right everyone, your favorite dbz buster has returned. I really have been just attending this site from the sideline, and I've gotta say, there's been some really good reads around, namely: Bringer of Death, Honor Trip, Dragonball Legends, and Sins of the Father. The authors of these stories really know their stuff. Now its time I show MY stuff.
Nebarid was stupefied. A piercing attack like that should have turned the Mystic Dragon into a swiss dairy product. But instead, it bounded into the air above, doing nothing but leaving a burning scratch in its intended target's chest. The speed demon was pretty sure that his Sniper Shot could've easily drilled a planet, based on what Leon's experiences before the Chamber. It's time to kick things up a bit. "Alright Shenron, let's shift into second gear. I'm bored of the slow lanes."
"Oh please child, I was never in the first. Merely in park this entire time." came the evil dragon's response.
Now this was something to think about. Leon was now rethinking letting Nebarid go on his own. No one saw it but Leon. Nebarid had actually used a lot of power in that attack. It didn't seem that way because he trained Nebarid and Zuyoi to disguise their fatigue to an extreme. Yet, there were always subtle changes that only he caught on to. He has some more energy in reserves, so lets see how this really plays out, chimed the teacher's thoughts.
Back in the battle at hand, both fighters began diving into reserves, or rather... Nebarid was. His brilliant blue aura shining in the evening light gave him the appearance of a white dwarf star up close. The heat lashed out in powerful waves of force that caused the surrounding Earth to rise and break apart, as the lightning from his aura decimated every mass within range of his light.
In the opposing corner, Shenron let a small grunt loose that encased his stolen body in a sickening black cloud of mist-like aura. He was really just toying with the boy at the moment. He wanted his opponent to shine his brightest in comparison, just so he could bring his bravado plummeting deep into the depths of HFIL. But there was something bugging him. Deep inside of his stolen mind, he felt another presence. It was there and wriggling around uncomfortably. The black shroud around him flickered and wavered, replaced by a grey haze with white highlight. Shenron quickly concentrated on controlling himself. A few seconds of silent meditation and the issue was resolved... but the wriggling was still there. And what was that incessant whining?
A quick glance, to make sure Nebarid's allies were watching, he saw Zuyoi staring right at him. Sensing her out, she had a strong will to her and she was giving his a very intense stare. Did she see my little hiccup? No matter, it's not a true weakness.
But he was wrong. The girl in question saw and analyzed everything she just saw and realized that his focus was off. If he was distracted in anyway, a new energy would simmer under the surface until he fixed it. The simmering felt as though a bird was bashing desperately against a really small cage. This can be exploited when her turn came.
With a final shout, Nebarid ended his power up with a final flare of his vibrant energy. He wore a very serious expression on his face, eyes narrowed and teeth grit slightly. Locking gazes with Shenron for a split second, he vanished completely and too fast to track. In the same instant, he came behind Shenron, and from a crouched position, kicked upward into the dragon-man's back and took off into the air after him. When Shenron recovered, hundreds of fists began to pepper his face and upper body from all directions, each strike feeling like a bolt of electricity from the heavens themselves. Alpha Shenron managed to regain his bearings and put up a cross-block in front, but the Speed Demon struck a low leg sweep and hammered his disoriented body into the ground.
When Alpha made contact, the ground caved in hard, large debris and dust radiating everywhere, and with enough force to get Leon and Zuyoi to leap into the skies. The trio gave the dust some time to settle and observe the damage dealt. After a few moments, Shenron rocketed forth from the fresh chasm of the Earth to give Nebarid his 'rebuttal' so to speak. The gap between them closed quickly and the battle recommenced. If one could observe, they'd notice how this was a battle of opposites. Shenron's fighting style was very technical, cold and calculating, almost robotic. Nebarid, on the other hand, was more of a free-styler. Every move he made, he'd watch for the opposing reaction, then improvise in an instant.
But no upper hand lasts very long.
After some time studying his opponent, Alpha began to see through his tactics. To prove this, he went forward with a jab feint. But the feint had to follow through for it to work. Knowing that Nebarid would try a rear approach when the opportunity presented itself, Shenron quickly snapped his arm back and landed an elbow strike into the younger fighter's nose. Having been knocked out of balance, Nebarid was now subject to a terrible force that itched to show his capabilities to an inferior foe.
