20. A Letter to the Readers

Hello there, readers!

I had never expected to log back into after years of disowning it, to just write slexie fanfictions; to find 241 comments on this story. I did love this story, and I do appreciate greatly the good and the bad of comments. I've been elsewhere, my life has changed and so has my writing. I'm not as skittish when it comes to writing. I do it every day, since I joined Tumblr in the world of roleplaying, with over 15 characters under my belt, I can safely say my writing is far better than it used to be. I do still love delena, but more on the AU side.

To the comments: I haven't read them all but thank you. This story is VERY AU, and it does not follow the world of the books nor the tv show. I am still invested in the show. 2013 was a crazy year for me, and so has been the last few years. So coming back, I do thank you and hope to update this story again. I'll probably reread it, and work out something for you guys. I can't believe people are still reading this fanfic, but I do love the support for it.

As for the comments and the concerns: I was a newbie first and foremost on the smut side of writing, I never intended to write good smut; just a fill in. Sometimes you do what's safe for you because you don't want to screw it up for the readers. It was a safe chapter, and needed to be done. Now, I've written plenty of smut and I'm a much better writer than I have been and I'm proud of that accomplishment. As for the characters, nothing is true to the tv show; Damon and Elena are very different and so are the other characters. Sometimes you just need a base. As for the disappointment in the grammar, again, I was doing most of it myself after my beta was gone. Friendships fade away, and people change. We all drift apart sometimes, and it's life. As for me as a writer, I plan to give this a good ending sometime. I loved the fic so very much, and hope to give more to it. Damon is not Ian and Ian is not Damon; I am just a writer who has built this fanfiction out of an idea. I do love this show and the ship. I'd love to hear what you guys want in this story to maybe give me a boost. But other than that, I hope to post soon.
