Sorry for not updating in so long. Thanks to TeamChaosHunters for the new name and I might be using the names offered by GamerDreamer for chapters or the sequal. Here's why this one is shorter and I didn't update in so long. I am now in track which has practice almost every day. I just wrote this to let you guys know and answer a few questions. There's a lot of itallics in this one. I'll update at least or about once a month and the next chapters will be longer.

"Who am I?" The question came suddenly and the one being addressed had to take a minute to realize the question.

The gray-blue echidna grit his teeth and glared at the wall, angry that they were trapped, "Now is not the time boy."

The blue hedgehog scowled and crossed his arms, suddenly looking years older, "I know it's important, so now is the time. In fact I should be asking who you are as well, why are they locking us up?"

"Fine." Kane suddenly said, as the youth's loud voice was beginning to attract attention from the guards. "Memilin, is your name, it means wind. That is all I can tell you for now."

"You can tell me more than that and you know it!"

Kane suddenly stood straight and towered over the youth, "Alright, I can tell you that you will have different forms and different names, some which will strike both fear and bravery in hearts of many. You'll be known as a king-slayer, a knight, a hero and savior, a betrayer and planet destroyer. You will forget everything and everyone, and only remember when you fall in love with someone you consider an enemy. That is all I know."

Memilin frowned and his ears lowered before he suddenly dove into the echidna's side in an awkward seek for comfort, "I'm sorry, Kane. I don't want that, any of it."

"Someday you will live for the adventure, Memilin, the thrill of the wind and the song of the planet. Just stay alive."

Just stay alive

Alive

Stay alive

Wake up

Memilin, wake up

Wake!

Sonic gasped and shot into a sitting position looking around in panic until he realized where he was. Shadow was sitting up next to him and looked partly like a kid that's been caught with his hand in the cookie jar, and worried. Sonic gave him a small grin, "Hey Shadow, what's up?"

"You were having a nightfright." The black and red hedgehog said simply keeping his eyes focused on the other's green ones.

When Sonic had started tossing and turning, waking him up in the process, he'd tried to calm him down by rubbing his ears again, when that didn't work he'd started petting Sonic, demeaning and if Sonic ever found out, he was dead, immortal or not, but it had caused the other to subside to only whimpers.

There was one thing that had worried him though. When his younger counterpart had woken up and looked around at everything, his eyes had glowed, not as in like they did when an adrenalin rush happened, but they glowed as if they could light the way if it was dark. Now when Sonic looked at him they seemed older, as if he had seen much more than before and than his personality seemed to give, like he had seen a war worse than Shadow had. Like some human and Mobian veterans did.

Carefully the black and red hedgehog leaned forward to get a closer look, only for Sonic to suddenly stand and back away. "I'm fine." He said, cheeks tinged red, "Just a dumb dream."

Shadow nodded and watched as the other grabbed a cloak and left, "Meet me in the front hall later." Sonic nodded before the door closed behind him.

Shadow let out a sigh and also left.

Someday you will live for it… the thrill of the wind and the song of the planet.

Sonic shook the thought out of his head and continued down the passageway, peeking in and through doors when he came to them.

Finally he arrived in a large room that was coated in wood with a large glass chandler hanging in the center of the room, laughter and the sound of feet filled the room, a young brown squirrel and blue hedgehog appearing beneath the chandler.

Memilin smiled as his friend began to laugh as he spun her around before bringing her close to him. She smiled and leaned on him.

"Thank you, for pretending to be my boyfriend."

He laughed quietly, "No problem, Sally. You saved my life, so it's my job to keep those others away from you until you're ready."

She smiled and was about to say something when there was a cracking sound above them. Memilin jerked his head up to see the chandler falling towards them, quickly pushing his friend beneath him and kneeling above her. He groaned as the glass hit his quilled back, straining to keep it from landing on her.

Someone dragged her out from underneath him, while others moved the chandler off of his back, letting him crash onto the floor.

"You saved my daughter." King Maximillian said, "Anything you want and it's yours boy."

"Freedom for me and my family." Memilin said before suddenly blacking out.

He refocused on his surroundings, the ballroom was now empty and the chandler hung from the ceiling. The sounds and smells of the joyful ball had vanished in a second. None of that mattered though, as he slowly fell to the floor, clutching his head as a migraine formed, "Oh gosh, no, I'm Memilin."

"Move it!" Memilin listened as Kane growled under his breath as they were prodded in the back with spears and led up, out of the dungeon and to the throne room.

An old squirrel that appeared as if he looked nice when he was younger sat in a throne wearing a blue military outfit and crown.

"King Maximillian." Kane ground out with an accompanying glare as the two of them were forced onto their knees in front of the man "What do you want?"

"Something simple that I've heard you've given to others, a deal."

Dark green eyes flashed dangerously, "What you've heard is fairytales spread by Galelia (gal-eh-lie-la) I've made no deals and I never will!"

The king frowned and looked disappointed as he leaned forward and snapped his fingers, the sound echoing in the room. Strong hands grabbed onto thin peach arms and dragged him away from the echidna and a sword was placed in front of his neck.

"Do Not Bring A Child Into This!" Kane yelled as he suddenly stood. "Release him now, or you and your kingdom will suffer."

King Maximillian hid his fear and guilt behind a chuckle, he was just doing what was best for his kingdom, "And what will you do to me?" He paused and once again leaned forward, "Chaos?"

Tails gulped as he clutched tightly onto Tikal's hand, the only thing keeping him connected to the mortal plane. Echoes of a child's laughter sounded along the trip. Inside the Master Emerald was a large crystal palace that glowed in different colors along the way, some pulsing and sure to send a few people into a seizure.

She led him up plain crystal stairs until they came to sealed wooden doors, her clutching onto his hand to keep him from fading into the crystal world or being affected by it. The doors swung open and they entered, the crystals in the room glowing a dark eerie red.

In the center of the room was a square table with four chairs, one being empty, the others had three Mobians sitting.

The furthest one had a blue cat with sickly yellow eyes wearing a long purple dress and a necklace that looked as if it was made by boiling lava. The one on the right was shorter and appeared to be a child in age, being a small brown chipmunk wearing a simple brown shirt. The third sitting on the right was a tall, gray-blue echidna; he wore gloves and plain brown shoes, along with a few of his quills being bandaged like Tikal's were. The one closest to him was waiting.

"If it isn't Miles Prower." The cat purred with a twisted smile, "So nice to meet you dear. How's your brother?"

"Don't listen to her." Tikal whispered. "She wants to hurt Sonic through you."

"And that is why we're here." The chipmunk said, glaring at the cat, "Do you know what happened to Sonic, Tails?"

"I-I think he's in another dimension with Shadow." He stuttered, "That's why I'm here, to get a cure."

"I lied about that Miles." The gray-blue echidna said. "I needed to explain some things and we need a new view on the situation. My name is Kane, known to you as Chaos." He gestured to the cat and chipmunk, "These are my cousins, Galelia known to you as Dark Gaia, and Veilleuse, (Vel-e-le-sos) known to you as Light Gaia."

Tails went to back away, only for Tikal to tighten her grip on his hand, "It's alright, Kane won't let her hurt you."

What about Kane hurting me? "So, why do you want me?"

"You know Sonic," Kane said as he began to stand a pace, "Better than me, I regret to say, and Galelia can feel her curse finally being broken. I'm glad for that, but I'm worried that it's being broken by someone from that dimension."

"Curse?"

Galelia sighed, "Sonic kept getting on my nerves, so I cursed him so that he would forget who he was, turn into a child again, and become genderless."

Tails blushed and felt all of his fur stand on end, "Genderless?!"

"I put a loophole in the spell though." Veilleuse said as he glared at his darker counterpart, "When Sonic fell in love with someone, and they did as well, his memory would return and the curse would break. It's great that it's working, but Kane is going into worrying parent mode."

"Parent?" Man if Sonic was here he, she, whatever, would be teasing him nonstop about being part parrot.

"Right you didn't know." Kane said, as he stopped pacing, "Let's restart. Nice to meet you Miles Prower, I'm Sonic's birth dad."

Nothing could surprise him anymore, as Tails suddenly went limp and fell to the floor in a faint with Tikal falling down under his weight on her hand.

The cat whistled and clapped slowly, "Congratulations Kane, you managed to put your nephew into shock."

Tails sat on one of the cushions in the room and carefully sipped the tea in his hand before turning his attention to the four supernatural creatures by him, the medallion he'd been given keeping him weighted to the world outside. "If you're Sonic's dad, who's his mom?"

"A hedgehog like him, she's in the mortal world right now. You'll meet her someday."

Tails nodded and shifted his weight, "Was there anything else you needed?"

"I really do need you to build something." Blueprints appeared on the table, "Dr. Eggman is planning something while Sonic and Shadow are away, build this and follow Tikal's instructions, it's the only way we can hope to help Sonic now."

Carefully the fox grabbed the papers and watched as the world slowly shifted back to the one he knew.
