"Nik give me Kol's ring." I finally said after an afternoon of listening to him drone on about how he thought I was being attacked and so on and so forth.

"He doesn't deserve to be in this family."

"And neither do you Nik. Hand it over or I'll go and kill your precious hunter. You may be able to keep Kol from killing him or maiming him but you can't stop me and neither can some pesky hunter's curse."

He sighed. "I'm at the Salvatore's boarding house babysitting Damon come and get it."

"Why are you watching him? He's not very entertaining." I asked actually curious but of course he hung up. I put my phone in my back pocket and kissed Kol on the cheek. "Don't do anything stupid until I get you your ring." I said before walking out of my room.

"See you soon and I make no promises." He called back pulling out his ringing cell phone and stuffing in ear buds in his ear.

I just sighed and shook my head walking out of the house normally before speeding away to the Salvatore's house. I stopped at the door and hoped Stefan wasn't there before opening it and following the voices not caring what they were saying. I walked in the room as Damon Salvatore reclined on a cot.

"Elena?" Damon sat up immediately. I raised an eyebrow and looked him over.

"Imprisonment certainly hasn't made you any smarter." I acknowledge before turning to Nik who was looking at his phone.

"Hello Tatia. Your brother's lack of communication is infuriating." Nik said, I rolled my eyes and held out my hand wanting to get out of there.

"It's one of his trademarks, like his bruiting, and his hair. Why are you here come to play with guns again?"

"Oh don't even flatter yourself you aren't worth the energy. Hand it over Nik."

"Give us a moment Tatia." Nik said.

"I'm not moving," I said stubbornly.

"How hard do you think it is to steal a dagger from a vampire who's been stabbed by it as many times as your sister has? I'd say difficult." Nik sighed angrily and I glared at him.

"I'f you are trying to put Kol down you'll have another thing coming if you even succeed. I'll rip out the hearts of everyone involved personally." I threatened interrupted by Nik's phone.

"Speak of the devil." He said before answering his phone and walking into the hallway where I followed closely behind. "Well speak of the homicidal maniac."

"Do you know that your darling former blood bag and brother are trying to kill me?" My eyes widened and I held out my hand.

"Give me the ring now Nik!" I hissed as he just said, "what?"

"Don't pretend like you're not in on it. Your obsession to find the cure clearly trumps any sibling loyalty you once felt."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"I'm going to rip off Jeremy's arm and kill Elena just for sport. Then I'm coming for you." Kol said ending the call.

"The ring," was all I could say.

"What the hell's going on?" Nik thundered ignoring me holding Damon's neck against the wall.

"I don't know," Damon managed.

"What are Stefan and Elena planing?"

"I don't know I've been stuck in the penalty box with you since yesterday. Stefan won't talk to me and Elena won't come to see me. So maybe you're right, maybe she's getting me out."

"Tell me what you know." Nik compelled him.

"I don't know anything about a plan," Damon answered accordingly.

"Give me the ring Nik," I yelled blocking the door when he was done compelling him. He dropped something in my hand as he walked by me I vamp sped away the clang of the door closing behind me in seconds.

I threw open the door to the Gilbert house and snarled at the invisible wall preventing me from getting inside.

"Kol!" I yelled when I heard his screams. Then I saw his flaming body fall to the ground. I fell to my knees tears streaming down my face as I clutched his ring in my hand. Not seeing anything besides the burning body of my beloved. I only noticed Nik when I heard his angry cry of pain and the Bennett witch walk by me.

"Invite them in." I think I heard.

"Come in," I heard the words whispered from the hunter's mouth and I flew to the burnt body of the man I loved forcing the ring on his finger and crying into his chest the flames that killed him dying down.

"Be careful mademoiselle wouldn't want to be hit by a trolley." A voice called out in a familiar accent. I sat up on the cobbled road and turned my head in the direction of the voice blinking at who I saw.

"Wouldn't that be a shame," I said letting my surprise leak into my voice.

"Now why is a fine lady like yourself all by her lonesome?"

"I'm running from family looking for a decent place to start over. What did you do?"

"Are they following you?"

"They're still in England, Finn's in a box however so I wouldn't expect any word from him. Nice to see you Kol."

"Nice to see you too Tia. Come on, let's go inside." He said offering me a hand up that I took.

"Kol, your brothers are in the city, and sister. Bekah is here too. We need to leave now." I said storming into the great hall of our chateau.

"Calm down love," he said at the window watching the country side holding a hand out for me. I took his hand and let him pull me to the window with him. "I love you," he said softly leaning his head on mine.

"I love you too." I answered automatically.

"And it's because I love you that I want you to promise me something. If my brothers are somehow able to put me down, you will not come after me if it means getting caught. You will not get hurt again for my sake. I will not allow it. Promise me."

"I promise," I said after moments of silence.

"Thank you. One last party to say goodbye to the city though?"

"Tatia." Nik's voice finally reached me. I looked at him where he stood in the Gilbert's living room with wet eyes. "Come here," he said holding his arms open. I rushed into them needing comfort from the pain that was ripping my broken heart to shreds. He wouldn't come back. He was dead. I stood there hugging the man that was once my best friend and let him comfort me. He loved Kol too, and that was a comfort of it's own. We stayed like that for a while my mind slowly allowing for thoughts. Sadness making way for anger, and I had a lot of that.

"They'll die for this," Nik's words caught me popping the bubble of isolation I was sort of in.

"Indeed they will," was my answer as I pulled away speeding to the Salvatore's boarding house the one place I knew they would be. I opened the door finding no reason to hesitate expecting a witch and knowing I wouldn't be able to kill her openly.

"-took time for Finn's line to die off remember? It'll work." The witch said.

"That's right, you killed him too," I mused watching the scene unfold before me. "Oh do calm down, I'm not here to kill you, yet. I've decided to wait for your little expedition to come to an end. I'll wait for the feared Silas to come around and be there to help him unleash hell. Then I will watch you burn. And you tree will get to watch every single person you've ever loved die. You will watch the death of your every Facebook friend right in front of you, and you won't be able to stop me."

"Where's that Gilbert optimism." Damon said coming upstairs.

"And he will be the first to die." I said plainly backing towards the door tears forming in my eyes at the sight of the love in Damon and Elena's eyes. I reached for the door handle as it opened revealing Stefan Salvatore and a rock. He looked at me worry on his face and then saw Damon and Elena pulling away over my shoulder.

"Looks like I didn't miss much." He stated. "Are you okay?" He added under his breath.

"Where's Rebekah?" I asked instead of answering him.

"I got the Silas head stone," he said not answering me and giving me no choice but to stay. Something told me they had a plan to take her out of the picture as well.

"We're just waiting for Jeremy's mark to grow. Klaus is trapped in our living room." Elena said, the tension between her and Stefan was more obvious than the ending of and animated Disney movie.

"Temporarily," the witch added. "I uh, I drew on the new moon to bind the spell. Got three days to find the cure, four max."

"If not we'd better look up Katherine Pierce and see if she'd like some company in hiding, cause he will come after us."

"And will be much more prudent about it than me," I added as Elena said, "We'll find it."

"Now that Rebekah is moving out of town," Elena said something flashing in her eyes as she looked at Stefan. "All we need is professor Shane and we'l have everything we need."

"Yeah I didn't uh, I didn't dagger her." I raised my eyebrows and blinked a few times.

"So far there is only one person in this room that won't die by my hands," I said trying to be cheerful. "Where is she?"

"What? Why not?" Elena fired off.

"I didn't need to she's on our side, just like her," Stefan answered pointing over his shoulder at where I was leaning against a wall. "I mean why else are you not all dead?"

"On our side? Did you really just say that?"

"Elena words of advice. The world doesn't revolve around you so stop pretending that it does and blind optimism doesn't suit her Damon so stop asking where it is. And with that I'll leave." I walked to the door and left my goodbye as simple as a slammed door.

I made one last stop at the mansion before fleeing the town of Mystic Falls and running from another pretty how town ruined by heartbreak. I scribble a note to Nik and a separate one for Rebekah. I go to my room to look for something of Kol's that he left here knowing I'd never make it back to our apartment in the city even if I was in NYC again. I also wouldn't make it to our small little house in Denver to sift through belongings, it'd be too painful.

I remember the daggers and go to my closet and pull out a single dagger from my dresser. I hesitate and then move the other three and set them on the bed keeping one. The one meant for Kol. And with that I left Mystic Falls hoping that I'd never have to return to the and I was born on. I ran in an aimless direction and never looked back.

Thank you so much for reading and supporting my fanfic, I am amazed at how much support this got. I might write a sequel if I do it won't be posted for a while most likely but please comment if you want one.

Thanks again, it's been real, hope you like the ending.

And with that I bid you au revoir, or goodbye.
