A/N: Ok I've been constantly asked about the scrolls, wand papers, and the mind potion. Just relax and enjoy the first task ok. The scrolls and all of that stuff will be dealt with soon. well mostly soon lol.

xxxLeanniexxx: Yes I fully agree Harry deserved the beating from last chapter. I actually had to retype that a few times because it just wasn't enough to how angry Draco was at Harry.

daithi4377: Ill explain all your comments on next author notes chapter.

I can't believe none of you tried to tell me what the translation was for what Harry said during the time travel ritual. Do I have to bribe you? Fine the first four that tell me plus one who I chose will get to see the chapter of one of the scrolls being read before anyone else. youd have to wait for when I make it but youll still get to see it before anyone else.

Also I never apologized for taking so long I think, maybe I did but ill redo it anyways. Im sorry. Work takes time and then I got on a reading tangent with Kim Possible fanfiction (pairing is Ron/Shego, and its awesome). Ive also been delving into some Harry Potter Fanfiction dealing with the wrong boy who lived with potter bashing...ok more like James and harrys brother bashing with lily being redeemed and being a good mom again. Anyone know any good stories with that theme I couldn't find many to my liking. Also there is a story that I really really like but I think it has been abandoned, most likely since it was last updated in dec up 2008. Its called 'Once More' by Conscience15, Its a HarryXTonks and I want Someone to Adopt it and continue it or make something really close up to where it ended and then you can do your own thing. Please and thank you.

To the first task we go. Also This is unbetad sooooo im sorry if it crappy.

Somewhere on Hogwarts Grounds, November 24

The winds were calm, the sun shown without a cloud in site, and the people were in a hype. Today was the first task of the Tri-Wizard tournament. With a stadium field as big as five quidditch pitches it was a tight fit for all the people to see. From all corners of the world people came to see this traditional entertainment. Four commentators, one for each of the four sectional stands, were on all stations of the WWN; Wizard Wireless Network.

While the people were finding seats and waiting, in the center of their attention and field as well was the four champions. On the left was Cedric Diggory, the Hogwarts champions. He was certainly anxious, with little color in his face his hands were shaking. Thankfully the rest of the young man's body was still. Going right, next to him was Durmstrangs champion, Viktor Krum. He was grim but determined, the dark bags under his eyes showed the nervousness that he was trying to hide. Beauxbatons champion came after, the beauty known as Fleur Delacour was to the eyes of the men, perfectly fine. Reality on the other hand was different; her eyes were shifty and her body was twitchy, one could almost say she was ready to run. At the last of the line was none other than the youngest champion, and unofficial champion of Hogwarts, Harry Potter. The look on his face was one of dangerous irritation.

'WHAT THE HELL!'

Harry Potter wasn't happy, but of course he wasn't. expecting the same small stadium that was walking distance from the school was exchanged for a half hour ride on the carriages to some far off field within Hogwarts. If one looked hard enough they could see the tips of the castle.

Looking around, he could see nothing but people, another difference. No longer was it just the school kids. Now it was everyone, from families to politicians and even other such individuals (there was a small section for the supposed 'dark creatures').

'Why now? Why couldn't things change after the first task?' Harry thought. He had a plan, outfly the dragon like last time. But now not only was he too far to summon his broom in time, looking at the all around changes he wasn't sure if the task was the same. For all he knew he could be wrong about the dragons. If so, he owed Cedric an apology and some very strong alcohol.

"Witches and wizards, please take your seats. The First task is to begin shortly" Came a booming voice that was heard from all over. In what seemed record time, The stands were filled and stilled in under two minutes.

Ludo Bagman and Barty Crouch Sr. were walking down some steps, onto the field, and towards the four champions. It was a tiring wait sadly because of how long the field was. What seemed like ten minutes later to Harry, they finally made it. In Bagman's hands was a thin plank and on it was four cards face down, showing the logo design of the Ministry of Magic on the back.

"Each of you will pick a card. The card will dictate your challenge" With that simple instruction from Crouch Sr. the choosing began. Instead of Fleur starting off it would seen they were going to go by the way we were lined up.

Cedric took a step towards Bagman and chose the card in the far left. Lifting it up, the other side showed a picture of what looked to be grass. "And Cedric Diggory for Hogwarts chose grasslands". Looking confused at to what may be going on Harry watched as Krum chose his, the card between the three that were left. "Viktor Krum for Durmstrang chose mountains". Fleur, being the elegant bitch she was, picked one of the two left. " Fleur Delacour for Beauxbatons chose fire."

Being my turn I walk up slowly and look at the last card. Picking it up he knew it was light but emotionally it felt so heavy. "Harry Potter for Hogwarts chose Ice". Looking I see a snowflake picture on the card. Getting back in line I vaguely hear Crouch Sr. to follow him. Walking I see Bagman stop Cedric and tell him to wait in the center.

Stadium Stands, November 24

Climbing the stairs, Harry and other champions are ushered into a small section of stands. There he saw the Minister of Magic and what is assumed to be his wife, 'Poor woman', along with other people. Krum was the first to make his move and sat next to a man near the entranceway; He had slicked back hair that was a shade of dark blue, tall and muscular frame, and a stair that was cold. What ruined the image of such intimidation was beard which seemed to mimic a cheesy cartoon villain. Looking at his chest, Harry saw a badge that had a foreign language on it, but under it english which wrote Minister of Bulgaria.

Fleur moved gracefully, Harry grudgingly admitted, towards the end of the the sectional stands. At first it looked like she was going to sit with Fudge, but then sat next to a man with summer orange hair with red highlights two four seats away. Assuming it was the French Minister Harry began looking for a seat, because he would be damned before he sat near Fudge.

Looking around he didn't have many options. He saw a whole section of empty rows in the back of the room, but he couldn't sit there because then he would look like an ass for the press which he was currently trying to avoid at the moment. He doesn't care what people think but bad publicity would only make things harder. He could sit next to Krum but didn't want to. There was a few seats with other foreigners but they were seated with some very pompous rich snobs so that left two seats left; Next to Fudge or Fleur. "Damn" Harry muttered under his breath.

Quickly moving he sat next to Fleur. He could feel the stare from her but he chose to just look out towards the stands and ignore everyone else. He heard the commentary voice mention that everything was now in place and that the 'action' will appear in a few minutes, bets were being placed, and random facts of each champion. The only thing they had gotten right about him was his name and that he was good at DaD, everything else was either bogus or half-truth. Hearing another comment he couldn't help but comment out loud in irritation, knowing that the commentary people couldn't hear him (but forgetting the people in the room could).

"Ladies man my arse. I haven't been laid once, kissed once, hell the only time i've looked into a broom closet is when I have to clean a mess magicless for detention. Where do you 'lot get your facts?" 'Well past me at least was like that anyways'

He felt stares upon him, he groaned thinking 'this is going to be the longest couple of minutes ever'

"Witches and wizards it is time"

All attention was now on Cedric.

"All are probably dying to know, more so the champions than anyone else, what is the First task?"

"Well before we get into that, let me explain what is happening right now" As the main voice, bagman probably, was going on the field was changing. Hills were beginning to form, grass was growing a bit higher, and two different magical rings were showing.

"Beginning with the obvious the field is being changed to what the champion chose from the card. Since Cedric chose grasslands that is what he is getting. Now for the rings. Those show the barrier lines. As you can see the champion is in the center of the first barrier, that will protect him to some degree" Seeing the center ring that was being mentioned, it was roughly thirty yards from center to the edge.

"The secondary ring closest to the spectators is the area that the champion needs to reach, fully charmed so nothing unexpected could damage our viewing audience" people all around shifted in their seats with that dangerous comment. The secondary ring was hardly a yard from the stands, that left nearly five hundred yards to cross in any direction.

"Now the champions objective is to reach the other safe zone with the designated item in the shortest amount of time while avoiding injury from the obstacle. The item, a fake but realistic dragons egg. The obstacle, a recent mothering dragon!" As the mentioned obstacle was told the audience could hear loud ferocious roars.

"The champions now know the goal, sooooooooo let the task begin!" The final shout from Bagman was the signal for a magical open hole to appear from the floor at the edge of the secondary ring, the audience could feel the vibrations of the dragon climbing up.

One stomp. Two stomp. Three stomp. Four stomp. Silence.

Then the dragon appeared.

0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Harry hadn't once seen this dragon before and wondered about it. Green skin that looked as smooth as silk, and a length of sixty yards from tail to snout. No wings but talons and teeth razor sharp. It looked dangerous, but after the Hungarian Horntail this dragon seemed like a normal overgrown lizard. 'There has to be a catch to this'

"Poor Cedric, it seems he got stuck with a Peruvian Absconditum" Said a female commentary. A male voice came next, "To those unfamiliar with dragons, unlike Temma here, a Peruvian Absconditum is one of the most allusive dragons on this planet. With the ability to blend with the land around itself the dragon can attack or run without notice. Before it was discovered it was believed that the damage the Absconditum had done was from wind spirits. It is still nearly impossible to find. Though believed to live all around the world it seems they collinate mostly in Peru, why is still a mystery."

"Thank you for that lovely summary Mark, but while you were talking it would seem that some activity was going on" and there was.

While Harry was listening to the facts on the dragon, he was focusing on Cedric. As the dragon appeared an egg the size of Dobby appeared in front of him. Picking it up Cedric looked towards the dragon with a confused stare. Harry guessed the commentary couldn't be heard from the field, which would be a good thing since four separate commentaries going at the same time would be highly distracting.

Transfiguring random patches of earth and grass into dogs, he sent the pack of them towards the dragon as he started running in the opposite direction. The dragon had other ideas, with swift light movements, it ran to the left and disappeared or in a more realistic sense the dragon blended with its surrounding, camouflaging from site. The minor blur it left while moving couldn't be followed easily.

Cedric wisely chose to back up and dived into the safe zone in the center field as a stray line of fire was aimed at him. As he rolled back onto his feet, he held the egg under one arm and the wand pointing out in another. Silence was on the field while the commentary was still going within the stands. A bright shimmer of waves spread across the safety line, visibly showing the barrier that surrounds Cedric, as the dragon tried ripping him with her talons. Breathing a sigh of relief Cedric let his wand hand come down, resting against his side.

The dragon chose to stop attacking and was again unable to be tracked. Though it was unnerving to not be able to see such a large enemy Cedric didn't show any panic, he actually looked comfy in safe zone. Harry shook his head 'remember, Bagman said it was safe to a certain degree'. Just as he thought this, it was shown what he meant by 'certain degree'. Flames appeared behind Cedric and he hardly had time to dodge to the left as the fire crossed the barrier line. On full alert again Cedric was looking in every direction waiting for another attack.

Fifteen minutes pass and Cedric was still in the barrier. He tried escaping a few times with the same tactics as the first but his last attempted landed him with a two inch gash on his shoulder. Now he was just dodging flames every thirty seconds or so.

Cedric was visibly exhausted and in pain, he can't see the dragon, and had no way of making it to the other barrier. This wasn't looking good for the popular Hufflepuff.

Then suddenly something changed. Clear slime was being spread all around the barrier and some of it was slowly moving in it too, roughly covering the first five to ten yards outside of the center circle. Before anyone could figure out what was going on the dragon reappeared in front of Cedric, at the very edge of the center line. It gave a large snarl and showed it teeth. Backing away slowly Cedric accidentally walked too far back and ended up at the edge of the other end of the circle, stepping into the clear slime. He broke eye contact with the dragon to look down at his foot that was now covered in the unknown slime. That mistake was going to cost him.

The dragon lowered its head near a spot of slime and cracked its mouth open. It lightly began moving it's jaw forward and back. Within a minute small sparks began to come out of the dragon's mouth. Harry had a sinking feeling what was going to happen, and Cedric must have guessed the same thing because he ran from the dragon as fast as he could across the slimed grass fields not caring if he was going to be eaten or not. Even from this far, Harry could see the tears of fear on his face.

Even more bad luck, in his panic Cedric slips into the slimed ground and slides. The egg pops out of his hand and slides out of the slime area and rolls further down the path. Giving one glance towards the dragon, still giving off sparks, he gets up and continues running. Just as he makes it to the edge the dragon succeeded. A spark caught a piece of slime on fire and the effect was immediate, a wave of fire was visibly spreading within the slimed fields. Cedric dives out, but not before being caught on fire.

Tearing off his clothes with only simple boxers on, and visible second degree burns in some areas, he ran ignoring the pain. He picked up the still slime covered egg and fled further away. The dragon roared and begin to take chase. Cedric transfigured mud puddles, trenches, and other such things behind him as he ran in hopes to slow it down. It worked but was hardly effective.

Three hundred yards and exhausted Cedric was forced to stop and catch his breath, his body couldn't go on otherwise. It was highly unfair that there was five hundred yards to cross when a dragon could cover that distance easily. Seeing no other way Cedric began to throw blasting curses at it and even transfigured a giant stone and threw it at dragon.

The dragon was getting annoyed with the spells, it seemed to bother it more, which was confusing since dragon hide was supposed to be highly magically resistant. The stone was easily dodged and soon was only a few yards away. With one swift movement the dragon turned and swiped its tail at Cedric. He was too slow.

Cedric was whipped back from the tail, and hit the the wall at the end of the stadium that was two hundred yards away at the time. Falling to the floor a cannon could be heard which was assumed to signal the end of the challenge. Cedric was down on the grass floor in the designated zone unconscious with probably almost all his bones broken and bleeding out to death. All the spectators watched as healers came bustling towards him and started working to save his life.

He heard Fleur mutter something that sounded like "Je dois rester calme". Turning to look at her, she no longer had her superior bitchy look or air about her. She was pale, terror was etched in her face as she played with her hair which was, if one was to guess, so help calm herself. She looked at him and they made eye contact. With a sad face Harry spoke with a grim voice "One down, three to go".
