Attack on Dragon City
Miyuki, Hail, Hunter and Hikaru gazed in horror upon the scene that was being played out before them. An army of apes, imps and other dark creatures were running towards the gates of Dragon City with a giant battering ram following in their wake. Flying over the walls of the city were dragons of many different sizes and colors as they attacked the invaders who are trying to breach the walls of Dragon City.
"This…is not good," muttered Hail.
"How in the world did the Dark Army get here before us?" asked Miyuki as she looked at Hunter in shock and befuddlement.
"I don't know," replied Hunter with a frown, "but we'll have to figure that out later. Right now we need to get into Dragon City without being caught by the Dark Army."
"And how are we supposed to do that?" questioned Hail with a frown.
"I think I might know how," spoke Miyuki before she turned to look up at the fourth member of their group. "Hikaru, do you think you could give us a lift to Dragon City?"
Hikaru looked down at Miyuki in surprise for a second before frowning in thought: "I've never seen the need to let anyone on my back before, but this time I think I'll make an acceptation."
Hikaru lowered her body to the ground so that the human girl and the two Cheetahs could get on her back. Miyuki was the first one to quickly climb onto Hikaru's back as she took a seat in front of the dragon's shoulders. Miyuki quickly looked down at her two male companions before signaling them to climb up onto Hikaru's back.
"Come on, we got to hurry!" exclaimed Miyuki.
Hunter quickly climbed onto Hikaru's back and sat behind Miyuki before looking down at Hail, who was hesitant to ride the dragon to Dragon City.
"Aren't you coming?" questioned Hunter.
Hail answered with a groan before he climbed onto Hikaru's back and sat behind Hunter. The three companions quickly grabbed hold of Hikaru's fur as the she dragon moved to stand up on her four legs again before she spread out her wings. Then, with a mighty leap and a powerful flap of her wings, Hikaru took off from the ground and began to fly towards Dragon City. Hikaru made sure to stay as high as possible above the heads of the Dark Army. Hail gripped tightly to the fur he was holding on to, while trying not to look down at the ground below him.
"Hey, don't go pulling at my fur like that!" exclaimed Hikaru as she turned her head to glare at Hail in anger.
"Don't blame me!" yelled Hail as he glared back at Hikaru. "You're the one who doesn't come with safety handles or a saddle."
Hikaru only huffed at him before she felt Miyuki pat her neck to calm her down. The young water tribe girl gently ran her left hand through the fur that she was holding onto before she spoke to her dragon friend.
"Hikaru, fly towards Dragon City as fast as you can!" shouted Miyuki against the wind.
"Then you three better hang on tight squirt, because this is going to be a bumpy ride!" exclaimed Hikaru as she began to pick up speed.
Miyuki, Hunter and Hail did as they were told as Hikaru started to head towards Dragon City. As they flew towards their destination, Hail suddenly sensed something coming up behind them and he quickly turned around to see what is was before cringing.
"Uh…Master Hunter, you're not going to like what is following behind us," said Hail as he tapped the older cheetah on the shoulder.
Hunter looked to see what Hail was talking about and what he saw made his eyes widen. Flying up behind them were three large snake/worms like creatures with webbed wings scaling down the sides of their bodies. The creatures were a mix of black and red. Their heads were shaped like a bug's head, while their eyes were the color of molten lava and if you stared into them for too long you'll feel like you were falling into fiery depths of hell.
"Wyverns!" yelled Hunter.
Miyuki became alert to what Hunter had said as she quickly looked over her shoulder to see the three creatures, or wyverns as Hunter had called them, flying up behind them at a fast pace. Hikaru also heard what Hunter had said as well as the dragoness let out a deep growl that vibrated throughout her body.
"Those pathetic creatures!" snarled Hikaru as she bared her fangs. "They're nothing but worms that disgraced dragon kind ever since they came into existence!"
"They're catching up to us!" warned Hail in a worried voice.
"Not for long," muttered Hikaru as she went into a steep dive.
The wyverns went into a dive as well as they chased after Hikaru and her passengers. Miyuki, Hunter and Hail clung tightly to Hikaru's fur as the dragoness continued her steep dive descent towards the ground. They were only a few meters away from crashing when Hikaru made a steep climb up towards the sky again. That move made the wyverns falter in their flight as they tried to do the same trick as Hikaru did, but they were flying too fast to preform it and winded up crashing into the ground. Hail looked back to see that the wyverns had crash into the ground before turning his head forward with a smirk on his face.
"Okay, I'm impressed," said Hail.
Hikaru only smirked when she heard that comment, while she continued to look ahead as she flew towards Dragon City without any more wyverns flying after her and her passengers. Hikaru soon passed over the walls of Dragon City before landing down on the ground near the large metal gates of the city. Hikaur crouched down as she let her passengers climb off her back. Hunter and Hail jumped down from the Hikaru's back, while Miyuki slid down before looking around at the sights before her.
The inside of the city was even more magnificent then when Miyuki saw it from outside the walls of the city. She would have looked more if she wasn't started by the sound of scurrying feet coming towards her, Hunter, Hail and Hikaru. Miyuki quickly pulled up her hood as she hid her face from a group of tiny armored creatures that came running up to them. There were about four of the little creatures as they stopped in front of the group and Miyuki saw that they only reached up to her hips. The leader of the group stepped forward and spoke to Hunter.
"Hunter, thank the ancestors you're here," spoke the creature with a relieved smile upon his face. "The city is under attack!"
"We know," replied Hunter with a frown. "My companions and I were just outside the city a few moments ago."
"This is not good," said the creature in destress. "We weren't prepared for this unexpected attack on the city."
"Our enemies attacking this soon after thirteen years of Malefor's defeat is quite disturbing," spoke one of the creatures.
"Not as disturbing as the adventure that we've been through on our way here," muttered Hail with a frown as he crossed his arms over his chest.
One of the creatures that stood beside the leader suddenly noticed Hikaru and Miyuki standing quietly behind Hunter and Hail. The little creature went ridged when he saw Hikaru before he pointed a finger at the light dragon and began to yell.
"What in the world is that outsider doing here!?" exclaimed the creature.
Hikaru snarled at the creature in disgust when he mentioned her as an outsider to her dragon kind before bending her neck forward to glare at eyelevel with him. The creature let out a yelp as he stared fearfully into Hikaru's angry face.
"Watch your tongue you little pipsqueak," growled Hikaru in a threatening voice. "Otherwise you'll wind up with more than just bumps and bruises after the fight against the Dark Army."
Miyuki quickly intervened as she ran up to stand beside Hikaru's head. She placed her hands on the side of the light dragon's muzzle, which made Hikaru turn her eyes on her human companion.
"Hikaru, calm down," spoke Miyuki in a gentle voice. "Now's not the time to let your anger get the best of you."
Hikaru stared at Miyuki for a moment before letting out a quiet huff of air to release some tension from her body before she pulled her head back and held it at a higher leave to look down at the creatures that stood before her. Miyuki smiled up at her dragon friend in relief before the little creature that had called Hikaru an outsider suddenly spoke to her in suspicion.
"And who are you supposes to be?" questioned the creature.
Miyuki became nervous when the creature asked her that question. She tried to come up with a way to answer without the creature knowing about her true identity, but Hunter beat her to it as he answered the creature's question.
"Her name is Miyuki," replied Hunter as he walked up to stand beside Miyuki. "She's our traveling companion that we've met on our journey here to Dragon City."
"But what exactly is she?" pushed the creature while eyeing Miyuki suspiciously.
Miyuki began to feel fear creep into her body at the possibility that these little creatures were going to discover what she was, but her fears were quickly put to rest when Hikaru's tail came between Miyuki and the little creature. Hikaru let out a warning growl as she glared down at the creature in anger before she began to speak once again.
"Why don't you concentrate on making sure that the monsters and demons of Malefor's army don't get into the city," snarled Hikaru.
"Y-y-y-yes ma'am!" exclaimed the creature fearfully before he and his three other companions quickly ran away from the light dragoness.
Hikaru let out a snort of distain, while Miyuki let out a sigh of relief when the creatures left. Hunter placed a comforting hand on Miyuki's shoulder at she slowly let her hood fall down from her head. Hail walked up to his traveling companions as he glared down the path that the little creatures had taken.
"Those moles can be so annoying sometimes," muttered Hail as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Those are what those little creatures are called?" asked Miyuki innocently.
"Yes," replied Hunter with a nod of his head, "and as I told you when we journeying to Dragon City, the moles were the ones who built this city in honor of the dragons."
"Although they can be quite nosey when they question new people who come walking into Dragon City unannounced," added Hikaru as she lowered her head to look at Miyuki at an even eyelevel.
"You must really hate those moles if they did something to make you angry at them," said Hail as he looked at Hikaru with a raised eyebrow.
Hikaru only huffed as she turned her head away from the cheetah as she refused to answer the question: "That's none of your concern fur-ball."
"Now isn't the time to get into petty arguments," stepped in Hunter when Hail was about to shoot an insult back at Hikaru. "Right now we have more pressing matters to think about now that the city is under attack my Malefor's forces once again. Hail, you'll come with me up to the ramparts to help back-up the archers. Miyuki, you stay close to Hikaru and make sure to keep your hood up at all times. No one must see your face until our fight with the enemy is over. We'll then make our way to the Council of Elders after words."
"Okay," said Miyuki as she quickly pulled her hood up again.
"We'll see you later," called Hail as he and Hunter ran towards the ramparts of Dragon City.
Miyuki watched the two cheetahs disappeared around the corner of a building before looking up at Hikaru.
"Do you think they'll be okay?" asked Miyuki in worry.
"They will," answered Hikaru with a smile. "Cheetah warriors are known to be tough fighters when battling enemies that try to attack their village. Those two won't go down so easily."
"I hope you're right," voiced Miyuki as she turned to look at where Hunter and Hail had disappeared around the building before looking back at Hikaru. "We should probably take a look around to see if there's anyone who'll need our help."
Hikaru only nodded her head before she began to follow after Miyuki as the two of them wondered through the streets of the city. They only got about two blocks when a giant ball of fire flew over the ramparts and fell on top of one of the buildings within the city. Miyuki jumped in surprise by the sudden appearance of the fireball, while Hikaru stepped up beside her as the dragoness spread out her left wing and curved in around protected Miyuki from the flames. The two companions looked at the flaming building in shock before they heard screaming from a couple of moles that were trapped inside the building.
"Help!" cried one of the moles in fear. "Somebody help us!"
Miyuki quickly looked around before spotting a large water fountain that was constructed near a large flight of stairs with water pouring out from the mouth of a dragon statue's head. Becoming determined, Miyuki quickly ran over to where the water fountain was before standing near the rim of the fountain. Miyuki took in a deep breath before she began to concentrate her thoughts on creating a large column of water from the fountain. It took about a second for a large column of water to form before Miyuki directed it towards the burning building. Miyuki began to rotate her arms as the column of water circled around the burning building before the top part of the water column stopped to hover two feet over the roof of the building. Miyuki slowly began to manipulate the water to close in on the outside of the building as it came in contact with the fire that hissed and began to steam under the water's touch.
The water continued to close in around the building like a snake that was trying to strangle its prey as it extinguished flames. The water column continued to eat away at the flames that burned at the sides of the building before the fire soon died out. Miyuki made sure that there wasn't any stray flames around the building before she slowly lowered her arms as she motioned for the water column gently fall down towards the city's streets. Water flooded the street before it seeped into the ground where it was absorbed by the dirt underneath. Miyuki let out a deep breath as she relaxed her body before she watched the moles that had been trapped in the burning building a few moments ago as they walk out. Once out of the building they began to look around in confusion. Hikaru walked up to Miyuki as the dragoness of light stood beside the human girl protectively as the moles walked up to them when they noticed Miyuki standing before them.
"Thank you stranger," spoke one of the moles in gratitude. "You saved our lives."
"You're welcome," said Miyuki with a smile.
"But how were you able to control that column of water?" asked another mole in suspicion.
Miyuki tensed at the mole's question and was about to say something, but Hikaru quickly beat her too it as the dragoness stood tall beside the human girl and glared down at the moles.
"Now's not the time to be asking questions," said Hikaru. "What you should all be focusing on right now is getting yourselves up to the ramparts and helping out your comrades."
The moles shrunk under Hikaru's glare before they quickly did as they were told and began to run towards the Dragon City's ramparts. Hikaru and Miyuki watched them go before Miyuki sighed in relief and looked up at Hikaru with a smile.
"Thank you Hikaru," said Miyuki with a nod of gratitude.
Hikaru smiled back down at Miyuki as a gentle purr rumbled within the dragon's chest before Hikaru looked towards the ramparts with a frown forming on her muzzle. Miyuki also turned her attention to the ramparts as she felt a sense of dread flow into her body.
"How bad do you think this battle with Malefor's army is?" asked Miyuki in worry.
"I'm not sure," answered Hikaru "but to be honest with you. If Malefor's army is stronger than before then I'm afraid that the dragons and moles of this city will find themselves backed up against a wall."
Miyuki gently bit her bottom lip after hearing Hikaru's answer. If the citizens of Dragon City didn't find a way to turn the tides of battle then they'll wind up losing their lives in the process.
'I can't let that happen,' thought Miyuki as determination started rise up within her chest. 'I just got here. I can't let these dragons die.'
That was when Miyuki noticed a door to one of buildings across the street was open. Miyuki quickly ran over to the door and entered the building, what Miyuki saw inside the building were many weapons that were either hanging on racks or stacked inside barrels.
"This must be where they keep their weapons," voiced Miyuki thoughtfully before her eyes rested on one of the weapons that hung from the rack.
Hanging on the rack was a red polished recurve bow and a quiver full of arrows with white fletching feathers. Miyuki stared at the bow for a moment before grabbing it, along with the quiver of arrows before running back out of the building with them. Hikaru was waiting outside for Miyuki as the human hung the bow and quiver of arrows over her shoulder. Hikaru cocked an eyebrow at Miyuki when she saw the weapon that the girl was carrying.
"Do you even know how to use a bow and arrow?" questioned the light dragon with a look of uncertainty.
"No," Miyuki answered honestly, "but my dad always told me that I should expand my sights on trying new things and this is one of those times. Can you give me a lift Hikaru?"
Hikaru didn't need to know what Miyuki asking her for as the light dragoness once again lowered herself to the ground to let the human girl climb onto her back once again. Miyuki quickly climbed up onto Hikaru's back and sat behind the dragon's shoulder's again, while grabbing a handful of Hikaru's mane in her hands. Hikaru stood up halfway before beating her wings and taking a might leap into the air. With a couple of wing thrusts, Hikaru was now flying high over the city before she started making her way towards the ramparts of Dragon City.
"So what do you want to do? Set you down on the ramparts with the other ground dwellers?" asked Hikaru as she glanced over her shoulder to look at her passenger.
Miyuki looked down at the ramparts thoughtfully as she stared down at all of the moles that were firing arrows or shooting cannonballs from a dragon headed shape catapult. Miyuki frowned in thought for a moment before she answered Hikaru's question.
"I don't think so," answered Miyuki with a shake of her head. "With all those moles down there, one of them is bound to distract me when I'm trying to shoot down one of their enemies."
"So…I'm guessing that you want to try shooting arrows while you're riding on my back, huh?" guessed Hikaru when she figured out what Miyuki wanted to do.
"That's basically the idea," replied Miyuki with a shrug of her shoulders.
Hikaru only rolled her eyes as she turned her head to face forward again, but a small smile appeared on the dragon's muzzle: "Alright then, just make sure you hold on tight because I'm going to be doing some fancy flying while we're fighting."
"You got it!" exclaimed Miyuki as Hikaru picked up speed.
The light dragon flew over the ramparts and was now gliding over Malefor's large army that was marching towards the walls of Dragon City. Miyuki looked down to see just how large the army was and couldn't help feeling a little bit of fear coursing through her body, but Miyuki quickly squashed it down as she unslung the bow from her shoulders and drew an arrow from the quiver. Miyuki quickly nocked the arrow onto the string of the bow before looking around to see what creature from Malefor's army would be her first target. She didn't have to decide for long when Miyuki saw one of the wyverns that she and her traveling companions had encountered when they were flying to Dragon City. Miyuki quickly brought her bow up and drew back the string as she took careful aim at her target.
"Keep your eyes on him Miyuki," cautioned Hikaru as she held steady in her flight.
Miyuki did as Hikaru advised as she waited for the right moment to let her arrow fly as the wyvern flew closer to them. At the last minute Miyuki let lose her arrow as she shot it at the wyvern where the arrow found its mark in piercing the wyvern's eye. The wyvern let out a shriek of pain as it withered in the air like a worm. Hikaru stopped in midair for a moment before opening her mouth and taking in a deep breath. Hikaru then let lose a yellow/golden beam of light from her jaws as her attack struck down the wyvern to finish the job.
"Nice shot!" praised Miyuki as she patted the side of Hikaru's neck.
"No time for praises just yet," said Hikaru as she nodded her head towards a group of wyverns that were heading towards them. "This victory is far from over."
Miyuki nocked another arrow to her bow before taking aim once again at one of the wyverns that was flying towards them. Miyuki waited for the right moment to strike before she once again released the arrow as it flew straight towards its target before piercing the wyvern right in the middle of its head. They wyvern screeched in pain before it was incinerated by Hikaru's light beam along with any of its other friends that got too close to duo. Miyuki and Hikaru continued to kill off the wyverns that got near them not noticing a wyvern sneaking up behind the duo as it prepared to grab Miyuki from behind, but it was suddenly intercepted by a purple blur that knocked into it from out of the sky.
Miyuki heard the commotion behind her and quickly looked over her shoulder to see what was going. What Miyuki saw behind her made her mouth drop wide open in astonishment. Miyuki saw a dragon fighting against the wyvern that had been trying to sneak up on her. This new dragon was completely different from the other dragons that Miyuki had seen flying around Dragon City.
This dragon was bigger, about three head's taller than Hikaru with wings much larger than its body with the membranes being an orange/red that were slightly tattered. The dragon had purple scales all over its body with large golden/yellow horns sitting upon its head. The ridge of the dragon's front crest was golden/yellow with reddish orange sitting behind it with three of the topper spines on the dragon's neck being the same. Golden/yellow frills sat on the side of the dragon's cheeks and ran down under its chin. The scales underneath the dragon's neck, stomach and tail were a golden/yellow and on the tip of the dragon was a golden/yellow spear head.
The purple dragon snarled as it fought against the wyvern with its teeth clamped down on the other lizard's neck. The wyvern soon got out of the dragon's hold and began to attack it. The purple dragon dodged around the wyvern's attack before it opened its mouth and breathed out a stream of fire. The wyvern let out a cry of pain before it began to fall out of the sky.
"A-amazing," voiced Miyuki in astonishment before the purple dragon turned its attention on her and Hikaru.
Miyuki froze in fear as she sat completely still on Hikaur's back, while the light dragon stared at the purple dragon in shock and amazement. The purple dragon slowly flew towards the duo before hovering a two feet away from them before he spoke in a male voice that was deep and powerful.
"What do you think you're doing?" questioned the male dragon. "Someone as young as you shouldn't be fighting in this battle."
Hikaru frowned in annoyance before huffing: "I've been able to take care of myself since I was a hatchling."
"Hikaru," started Miyuki as she placed her hand on the light dragoness's neck.
The purple dragon turned his attention on Miyuki as the human girl froze under the intense gaze of the male dragon's eyes. The dragon's eyes were the same color as his scales, but were a slightly deeper purple. Miyuki's eyes connected with the male dragon's eyes and she couldn't help but feel like he was looking straight into the core of her soul. After about a moment the male dragon's eyes turned to look at something that was behind Miyuki before rearing his head back.
"Duck!" shouted the dragon before a bolt of yellow lighting came out of his jaw.
Miyuki and Hikaru did what the dragon told them as Hikaru flew downwards a few feet before Miyuki looked to see that the dragon's attack had been aimed at another wyvern that was trying to attack them from behind.
'That was close,' thought Miyuki before she turned to look at the purple dragon again.
"Thank you!" called out Miyuki.
The purple dragon looked at Miyuki once again and nodded at her before he turned his attention back on Hikaru.
"You keep an eye on your passenger!" shouted the purple dragon. "And make sure you two watch each other's backs!"
Without waiting for a response the purple dragon turned and head back into battle as he shot out fire, lighting, earth or ice attacks at the enemy that was either flying or running on the ground.
Miyuki stared in wonder at the purple dragon: "Wow, he must be really strong if he's able to do those kinds of attacks."
"He should be," said Hikaru as she turned her head to look at Miyuki. "After all, he is the purple dragon of legend."
Miyuki looked at Hikaru in confusion for a second before realization came over the human girl's features.
"That dragon was Spyro!?" exclaimed Miyuki in surprise.
"The one and only," replied Hikaru with a smirk. "But enough talk, we've got some enemies to beat down."
"Right," said Miyuki before gripping tightly to Hikaru's mane as the light dragon began to speed up in her flying.
Miyuki spotted a wyvern heading towards her and Hikaru before she let go of the dragoness's mane and reached behind her to grab an arrow from her quiver. Miyuki nocked the arrow, drew back the string, took aim and let the arrow fly where it embedded itself into the wyvern's chest. Hikaru finished it off by incinerating it with her light beam. This went on for hours as Hikaru and Miyuki worked together to take down the wyverns that tried to attack them, while avoiding on getting hit by flying boulders in the process. Miyuki was in the process of grabbing another arrow from the quiver, but her hand only grasped empty air.
"Oh no!" exclaimed Miyuki fearfully as she looked over her shoulder. "I'm all out of arrows!"
Miyuki's moment of hesitation cost her as Hikaru suddenly jerked underneath her to dodge an attack from a wyvern, thus dislodging Miyuki from her back. Miyuki let out a scream as she found herself falling through empty air.
"Miyuki!" shouted Hikaru as she tried to fly after her human friend, but was blocked by a bunch of wyverns.
Miyuki continued to fall through the air at breakneck speed as a wyvern flew towards her to capture her within its claws. Miyuki saw this and became fearful for her life as her heart began to pulse quickly within her chest. Sound began to disappear all around Miyuki as the only sound that she heard was the beating of her heart before a familiar voice spoke within her head.
"Miyuki, do not let fear over rule you. Look deep inside you and release the power of the dragon." The Chronicler spoke in encouragement.
Miyuki slowly closed her eyes and began to calm her breathing, her heart slowing as it started to return to its original pace before Miyuki began to feel warmth spread throughout her body. The wyvern was drawing closer towards Miyuki as it prepared to snag her out of midair and that was when Miyuki's eyes snapped open. The once calming blue eyes were now a golden amber color with the pupils turning into slits. Miyuki twisted in the air as she held the bow out in front of her before opening the cork of her waterskin and drawing out a small thick stream of water. The water hardened into ice as it formed into an arrow. Miyuki nocked the ice arrow to the string of the bow before drawing the string back and letting the ice arrow fly towards its target. When the ice arrow flew straight towards the wyvern it exploded into water and engulfed the head of the wyvern before turning back into ice again, thus encasing the head. The wyvern shook its head left to right as it began to fall towards earth alongside Miyuki, but Miyuki's fall was shortened when Hikaru, who had managed to fight through the wyverns, caught her. Miyuki sat on Hikaru's back as she gently placed her hand on the side of the light dragon's neck. Hikaru's eyes widened in surprise when she felt an overwhelming power course through her body before a smirk appeared on her muzzle.
"Time to get serious!" roared Hikaru.
Hikaru soon dived down towards the ground as she headed towards where an army of bigger gremlins were marching towards the gates of Dragon City with the battering ram. Hikaru opened her mouth as a large ball of light began to form within her jaw before it was let loose on the invaders. The ball of light impacted in the middle of the army before it exploded outwards, thus engulfing the entire army and battering ram. The other dragons that had been fighting Malefor's army paused as they watched what had transpired on the battle field. Malefor's army watched in horror at what had just happened to their army members before they turned their eyes up towards where Hikaru flew above them with a look of fury on her face. The army's hesitation gave the dragons the chance to fight back as they fired their attacks on the gremlins and overwhelmed them as Malefor's army began to retreat from the walls of Dragon City. Hikaru and Miyuki let out a sigh with the human girl slumping forward on the light dragon's back, while her eyes returned back to their formal blue color.
"That was…intense," voiced Miyuki in a tired voice.
"Tell me about it" muttered Hikaru as she let out a sigh.
Suddenly a dragon flew up and hovered in front of the two exhausted partners. Miyuki looked up and what she saw had her freeze up in astonishment. Hovering in front of Miyuki was a dragon that had a slim built body with emerald green eyes staring intently at her and Hikaru. The dragon's scales were a midnight purple with cloud blue markings on its head, shoulders and lower back. The inside membrane of dragon's wings were a bright magenta along with the under scales that ran down from its neck, belly and almost all the way down under its tail. On the tip on the dragon's tail was a sharp blade along with the thumb part of the dragon's wings. The dragon was wearing a silver collar around its neck, along with two silver bands on its lower front legs and two more on its tail with one band being near the base of the dragon's tail and another near the end of its tail. A crown of white horns sat on the dragon's head, with four long black thin spines going down her neck. The claws on the dragon's feet were also white and looked deadly at first glance.
Miyuki had to admit that this dragon had a beauty to it that was dark and mysterious. The dragon continued to look at Miyuki and Hikaru for a moment before it spoke in a female voice.
"Are you alright to fly with me back to Dragon City?" asked the dragon.
Hikaru only nodded her head along with Miyuki before the female dragon led them back to Dragon City with the rest of the dragons flying along with them. Once over the battlements the dragoness guided Hikaru down to land in an open square that was near the gates of Dragon City. Hikaru crouched down as she let Miyuki climb down from her back before they were joined by Spyro as the purple dragon landed before tucking his wings in and walking up to the female dragon. Miyuki saw that the female was the same height as Spyro as the two adult dragons stood side by side to each other. Spyro nuzzled the female, who gently nuzzled back as a soft purr emerged from the dragoness's throat.
"Are you alright Cynder?" asked Spyro as he pulled back a little to look at the dragoness.
"I'm fine Spyro," the dragoness, Cynder, replied with a smile. "Just a little scratch on the shoulder is all.
'This is Cynder?' thought Miyuki as she stared up at the dragoness in astonishment.
Suddenly, Miyuki heard the sound of feet coming towards her and turned to see Hunter and Hail running up towards her. When the two cheetahs came up to her, Hunter was the first one to stop in front of her before he gently placed his hands on Miyuki's shoulders.
"Are you alright?" asked Hunter in concern.
Miyuki nodded her head 'yes' as Hunter let out a sigh of relief before Hail stepped in and began to shout at Miyuki.
"Just what did you and the half breed thing you were doing?!" questioned Hail angrily as he glared at Miyuki. "You two could have been killed out there on the battle field!"
"I-I'm sorry," stammered Miyuki sadly. "But I had to do something to help protect Dragon City."
"Still you and your friend shouldn't have blindly flown straight into danger like that young one," spoke Spyro as he gently scolded Miyuki and Hikaru.
Miyuki sadly hung her head in shame, while Hikaru frowned as she looked down at the ground pouting.
"But you have to admit Spyro that the two of them did hold their own against our enemies," reasoned Cynder.
Spyro looked at Cynder for a moment before he looked back at Hikaru and Miyuki as the two looked up at him. Miyuki was looking up at Spyro with shy, but fearful eyes for she had never felt this intimidated by a dragon in her whole life. Hikaru had shown to be someone that shouldn't be messed with, but this adult dragon looked to be more powerful then Hikaru and she felt an aura around him that told Miyuki that Spyro was not the type of dragon to mess around with.
"Spyro, please be easy on Miyuki and Hikaru," spoke Hunter as he stepped forward to talk to the adult dragon. "They were only doing what they thought was right and I was the one that brought Miyuki here to Dragon City."
"And why did you bring her here?" asked Spyro as he looked down at the Cheetah that had helped him and Cynder many years ago when they had been young dragons in the war against Malefor.
"I will explain that as soon as we've gather the other dragons of the council together," replied Hunter in a serious voice.
Spyro made a rumbling noise within the back of his throat as his face held a contemplated look for a moment before sighing.
"I will gather the Dragon Elders and Guardians at the city's temple," said Spyro before he looked back at Miyuki and Hikaru. "Just make sure that these two arrive there on time."
Hunter nodded his head before Spyro opened his wings and took to the air. Miyuki let out a sigh as she felt a little more at ease after Spyro had left. Miyuki then heard a chuckle and quickly looked towards Cynder who was smiling down at her.
"Don't worry," reassured Cynder as she looked down at Miyuki with a gentle look in her eyes. "Spyro is just a little wary around strangers on the outside of Dragon City, but he'll warm up to you eventually."
With that said and done with, Cynder opened her wings and followed after Spyro. Miyuki watched as the black dragoness followed after Spyro before looking over at Hunter and Hail. Hail walked up to Miyuki and gave her a light slap upside the head, with the young girl winching slightly at the contact.
"That was for being reckless," stated Hail with a glare.
"Sorry," voiced Miyuki as she looked down at the ground.
"At least you're safe," said Hunter as he walked up and gently placed as hand on Miyuki's shoulder. "And that's all that matters, but next time in the future you listen and do as you're told when the danger is too great for you to handle. You're still inexperienced and need more training when fighting against opponents that are stronger than you."
Miyuki nodded her head in understanding before Hikaru gently nudged Miyuki in the shoulder with her nose. Miyuki looked at the dragoness of light with a smile before she gently petted the side of Hikaru's snout, while Hikaru let out a soft purr as she leaned into Miyuki's touch. Having Hikaru around made Miyuki feel a little safer in this city for she had at least one dragon as her friend.
"Come, we should make our way to the temple," said Hunter as he began to lead the group to where Miyuki will be meeting the Dragon Elders.
Unknown to the group, they were being watched by a male dragon that had been observing them from the ramparts of Dragon City. The dragon was the size of an adult dragon with forest green scales. On the dragon's head were a couple of large copper colored horns. Two large horns sat on top of the dragon's head as they curved upwards, while two sets of horns sat on both sides of his upper jaw. On the front of the horns was a patch of burgundy brown that started thick at the front base of the horns before thinning at the middle. The horns on the dragon's jaw also had the color of burgundy at the end tips. Two smaller horns sat on the dragon's upper eye brows while a medium sized horn sat on top of the dragon's nose. Four small upper and lower K9s were shown out of sides of his lips. On the dragon's head and neck were four spine crests with the front edges being copper brown, while the frills were an orange/brown. The lower spine on the front crest had burgundy that stopped in the middle where it met the copper. The edges of the dragon's wings were the same color as the dragon's horns with burgundy on the front lower tip of first edging, while the membranes in the outer and inner wings were the same orange/brown as the frills. Spines ran down the dragon's tail before ending near the tip where the tail tip sat, while his back was bare of spines. The tail tip had a twin bladed metal axe that was dark grey with lighter grey edges. The under scales that ran down the dragon's neck, chest, stomach and tail were the same copper color as his horns along with the large spots that sat on his neck and tail. Three white claws sat on each of the dragon's paws, a barely noticeable copper frill on his under jaw and finally set of seven smaller spots sat on both sides of the dragon's cheeks.
The dragon continued to watch Miyuki with his earth brown eyes in suspicion before opening his wings and flew up into the air as he followed the group to the temple where the Dragon Elders and Guardians were to meet.
