Legend of Korra and the Dragon Warrior: Air
I do not own the characters of Avatar: The Legend of Korra or The Legend of Spyro game. I only own the characters that I've created in my head.
Sorry for the long wait everyone. I was having a little writer's block for a while, but I finally got through it. I hope you enjoy this chapter, R&R.
Dreams and the Dragon Temple
Back with the Dragon Council, the guardians, Spyro, Cynder and the elder dragons were still discussing on what to do with Miyuki.
"I don't care whether that girl is the Dragon Warrior or not!" exclaimed Elder Visha as he stamped his front paw down on the ground. "She cannot stay here in Dragon City! The girl looks too much like the apes that had served the Dark Lord many years ago!"
"But we can't just throw her out either," argued Volteer. "And even though she might look like our enemy, she seems to have a good head on her shoulder."
"Not to mention she looks to be a lot cleaner than our enemies were," added Cyril with a thoughtful look upon his face.
"Not to mention that she cuter than them too," said Cynder with a smile.
Spyro smiled at what his mate had said before he turned to the council members: "That girl also helped us when it came to defending Dragon City."
"That's still no excuse as to why we should let her live among us!" argued Elder Visha firmly.
"Also the other dragons within the city would feel a little uneasy around her," spoked a male light blue dragon with white spines, horns and three barbs near the tip of his tail. "We also don't know anything about her except for what she had told us."
Some of the other elders within the council muttered in agreement, while half spoke out in disagreement. Terrador, who had been quiet for a time, suddenly slammed his mace tipped tail down on the ground and everyone quickly turned to look at him in shock and surprise.
"Enough," said Terrador with a firm look upon his face.
Everyone became quiet as they waited to hear what the earth dragon had to say to them before Terrador stood up to his full height and continued to speak.
"We may not know very much about this girl, but there is one thing that we do know. Our enemies might have already found out about her and will stop at nothing to kidnap her in hopes of using her powers against us. We cannot allow them to get their hands on her no matter what."
"Then what do you purpose that we do with her?" questioned Cyril with a frown.
Terrador didn't answer right away, but when he did his words surprised all of the council along with Spyro, Cynder and his other Guardian members.
"She will be taken to the new Dragon Temple where she will be watched and hopefully trained in her abilities to manipulate the elements," said Terrador firmly.
With Miyuki: Dreamworld
Miyuki wasn't surprised that she found herself in the library of the Chronicler again, but she still couldn't get over the wonder of seeing so many books in one place. Miyuki walked around the room for a little bit before she saw the Chronicler standing before a tall wooden bookstand pedestal as he stared at the pages of the book, while reading the information that was written in there. Miyuki quietly walked up to the Chronicler and stood silently beside him as she waited for him to notice her presence. It didn't take long for the dragon to notice as he turned his head to smile down at Miyuki.
"Welcome back, Miyuki," greeted the Chronicler as he turned his attention away from the book. "I trust that you made it to Dragon City safely?"
"Yes," replied Miyuki with a nod of her head. "My friends and I have made it there safe and sound. Though there was a bit of a complication of us arriving there."
"I know," replied the Chronicler with a sigh. "It seemed that the dark forces of Malefor's arm had somehow gotten wind of you appearing in Dragon City. If that is true then…"
Miyuki sadly stared up at the Chronicler with understanding appearing in her deep blue eyes.
"I'll only be endanger Dragon City with my presences, won't I?" finished Miyuki in a soft voice.
The Chronicler sadly nodded his head before he turned to look back at the book that sat on the wooden pedestal.
"Your future is a complicated one, Miyuki" said the Chronicler as the page within the book turned itself over to reveal the next page. "Yet you will not be alone on this journey as you train to become the next Dragon Warrior. You will make many allies, even ones who you would not expect to have on your side in the tides of battles that are to come."
Miyuki quietly took in this information with a look of befuddlement upon her face.
"W-what do you mean by that?" asked Miyuki curiously.
The Chronicler looked down at Miyuki as he gave her a sad smile before lowering his neck to get eyelevel with her.
"That is something I cannot tell you until you are ready Miyuki," said the Chronicler gently. "You will need to figure things out on your own at some point for I will not always be there to give you all the answers to the questions you'll ask me. You must learn to discover those answers on your own."
Miyuki sadly looked into the Chronicler's eyes in quiet understanding before she decided to ask another question.
"So…what should I do to get stronger?" asked Miyuki.
"For that answer, young one, you will need to take up a journey to find the four dragons of the elements you are to wield. Through them, they will help you in your training." The Chronicler replied as he brought his head back up again to look down at Miyuki. "And once you have learned all of the elements then you will be strong enough to defeat the darkness, but you must also realize that strength is not the only thing you will need when fulfilling your destiny."
Miyuki frowned thoughtfully at what the Chronicler had just said before she looked up at him with a slightly confused look within her eyes.
"But…how will I know if I'm ready for such a responsibility?" questioned Miyuki gently.
"You will know when the time comes, Miyuki," answered the Chronicler with a gentle smile. "Now, you'd better get some rest. Tomorrow will be a little difficult for you in the beginning, but it will turn out alright in the end."
Before Miyuki could ask what he meant by that, a thick mist began to form within the room and before she knew it…Miyuki was transported out of the Chronicler's library.
End of the dream
It was hours before Miyuki slowly began to wake up to the feeling of someone shaking her shoulder and calling out her name.
"Miyuki," said the owner of the voice. "Miyuki, wake up."
Miyuki let out a groan as she slowly sat up from her bed. She let out a yawn as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes before she faced the person who had woken her up and saw Hunter standing beside her bed.
"Hunter?" rasped Miyuki still half asleep. "What's going on?"
"The elders have all come to an agreement and they want all of us to attend the meeting," answered Hunter with a solemn look upon his face.
When she heard this, a feeling of dread coursed through her body as her worst fears began to arise within her very soul.
"Okay, just give me a minute," said Miyuki.
Hunter nodded before he stood up and walked out of the room, while closing the door behind him. Miyuki let out a sigh as she planted her feet on the floor and stood up from the bed as she made her way towards the window of her room. Miyuki leaned against the window frame as she stared out at the city before her with a sad frown imprinted on her face.
"I guess I was right about not being wanted here in Dragon City," whispered Miyuki sadly to herself. "But I can't really blame them for being afraid of me or being worried about the safety of their city."
Miyuki stared out at the city in front of her before tearing her eyes away from the scene and walked back towards the bed to gather up her belongings before slipping on her boots. Once that was done, Miyuki threw on her cloak and walked out of the room as she headed downstairs to where the rest of her companions were waiting for her, along with Keb. Once she got down stairs, Miyuki saw Hail with his arms crossed over his chest as his face held an angry frown upon it. Hikaru also had a look of anger upon her features as well before it softened when she saw Miyuki walking towards them. Hikaru lowered her head to be at eyelevel with Miyuki as she walked up to the group with a sad expression on her face.
"Miyuki…" voiced Hikaru in a soft voice.
Miyuki only raised her hand up and placed it on the side of Hikaru's muzzle as she gave the light dragon a sad smile.
"We can't say that we didn't try," said Miyuki gently to her dragon friend.
Hikaru sadly nodded before she raised her head up to look at Keb, who was standing right next to the front door of the building that they were staying in. Hunter walked to the front of the group and nodded to the young earth dragon. Keb nodded back before he said the ancient words to open the door. Once that was done, Keb led the group out of the building and once they were all outside the door to the building closed behind them. The group walked towards the council building with a few moles and dragons watching as they passed by them through the streets. Miyuki once again felt a little uncomfortable with the stares and quickly walked up beside Hikaru. Hikaru didn't need to look down to know Miyuki was right beside her as the light dragon extended her wing a little bit to cover Miyuki from the eyes of the dragons and moles.
It wasn't long before they finally arrived at their destination. They walked into the building as they headed towards the council chamber with Keb still walking ahead of the group. Hikaru removed her wing from around Miyuki as they walked down the halls of the building before they soon entered the council chamber. In the council chamber were the dragon elders, the Guardians, Spyro and Cynder, who were all either standing or sitting within the room. Keb held back as he stood at the door of the council chamber as he took on a stiff poster, while Miyuki and her group walked into the council chamber.
Once the foursome came closer, Miyuki stepped forward and bowed in respect to the dragons before straightening up again. Terrador nodded back to Miyuki along with the other Guardians.
"Thank you for coming," said Terrador in a serious voice. "As you may know, we have summoned you here to give you our answer to your request and I'm afraid to inform you that you cannot stay here in Dragon City, Miyuki."
Miyuki let out a sad sigh as she let her head dropped down in defeat. Hunter came up to her side and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Ugh! You've got to be kidding me!" yelled Hail angrily as stormed up to stand in front of the dragons. "You're telling me we came all this way for nothing? That you guys aren't willing to accept Miyuki into your city?"
"It's not just that young cheetah," spoke Volteer with a sad frown. "It also concerns us that the dark army had attacked Dragon City when Miyuki and your group came to us yesterday. And this is just a hunch, but we have a feeling that the dark forces might continue their attack on us if Miyuki stays within Dragon City."
Hikaru let out a growl of anger at the thought of someone getting their hands on her human friend as she placed a protective wing over Miyuki. Miyuki looked up at Hikaru with a smile before she turned to look at the grand council again.
"I understand," said Miyuki with a somber expression upon her face. "And I will leave Dragon City at once."
"Not so fast young one," said Terrador as he stepped forward. "While we agree that you are not to stay in Dragon City, that doesn't mean that you will not be under our protection."
Miyuki and her companions looked among each other in confusion before Hikaru looked at Terrador.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Hikaru with a frown.
"What I am saying, young dragon is that Miyuki will be taken to the Dragon Temple," explained Terrador. "There, Miyuki will be safe and will take on her Dragon Warrior training alongside the Guardians and me as her teachers. We've realized that having her wander around our world would be too dangerous if the dark army got their hands on her."
"Thank you Terrador," spoked Miyuki with a small smile. "But, what about my friends, what will happen to them?"
Hunter answered with a smile as he placed a reassuring hand on Miyuki's shoulder as the girl turned her head to look at him.
"Don't you worry about us, Miyuki" said Hunter as Miyuki turned to look at him. "Hail and I will return to our home village to inform Chief Prowlus of what is happening."
"Which means a long walk home for us," grumbled Hail as he crossed his arms over his chest.
Miyuki let out a soft chuckle before she turned to look at Hikaru with a sad frown upon her face.
"Are you going to go back home too?" asked Miyuki in a sad voice.
Hikaru responded with a soft huff before she lowered her head to get eyelevel with Miyuki.
"And leave you in the care of dragons you don't know anything about? Not likely," said Hikaru with a smirk upon her muzzle. "I'm sticking with you until you know how to defend yourself in this world."
Miyuki smiled before she surprised Hikaru by hugging the Light Dragon around the muzzle. Hikaru blushed underneath her fur and scales. This was a form of affection that she had not really experienced after she had been abandoned by her mother.
"Thank you, Hikaru," said Miyuki as she pulled away from hugging the Light Dragon.
"Um…yeah," spoked Hikaru as she quickly pulled her head back up as she looked to the side in embarrassment. "Well, someone needs to look after you since you don't know much about this world. Plus, you'll need someone to protect you from the Dark Master's idiotic cronies."
Miyuki smiled and was about to say something when Elder Visha spoke up with a growl.
"I disagree!" exclaimed the dragon in a defiant voice. "The Dragon Warrior needs pure dragons that can protect her, not half breeds like you!"
Hikaru turned sharply to glare at Elder Visha and was about to stalk towards him to give him a piece of her own mind, but Spyro quickly stepped between the two as he glared at the elder dragon with displeasure.
"Elder Visha, Hikaru is a dragon just like the rest of us, despite her heritage. Also, she has closer ties to the young human than any of us dragons would ever have. So I think its best that Hikaru stays with Miyuki."
Elder Visha stared at Spyro in disbelief: "You cannot be serious!"
"I'll have to agree with Spyro on this Elder Visha," spoke Terrador as he stepped forward to stand between Hikaru and the elder dragon. "Also, Miyuki will be more comfortable around Hikaru then she would with anyone of us."
"Terrador, I do not mean disrespect on you judgment, but that young dragon is unpredictable and would be a bad influence on this…" Elder Visha paused as he glanced down at Miyuki with an indifferent look upon his features. "This young being and who is to say what will happen if the half-breed begins to show her bad habits."
Hikaru growled as she glared at the elder dragon and was about to say something before Keb, who had been quiet at the council door entrance for some time, spoke-up as he walked forward to be part of Miyuki's group.
"My I speak my thoughts, elders?" asked Keb as he came forward.
"You may young dragon," replied Cyril with a nod when Keb came to stand before them.
Keb took a moment to glance down at Miyuki before looking up at the elder dragons and Guardians again.
"If all of you are worried about who will keep an eye on both this young human and Light Dragon, then I wish to offer my services," said Keb in a firm voice as his face held a look of seriousness upon it.
Miyuki looked up at Terrador's son in surprise. This dragon was offering himself to looking after her and Hikaru? Terrador held a look of consideration as he thought over what his son had suggested before he turned his gaze on the two other Guardians, who looked back at him as the same thought crossed over their faces. Cyril and Volteer glanced at each other before they turned their heads to look at Terrador again and nodded in agreement in the decision he was about to make. Terrador gave a short nod back to his companions before he turned to look at his son once again.
"Alright, Keb," he said with an approving smile upon his face. "You will be given the task of looking after Miyuki and Hikaru at the Dragon Temple as Miyuki takes up her training there."
Keb responded by bowing his head towards his father, while Elder Visha let out a huff of annoyance. Hikaru let out a small growl of displeasure in having someone keeping watch over her every movement while she is with Miyuki. Miyuki seemed to sense her dragon friend's distress as she simple placed her hand on Hikaru's right foreleg to comfort her. Suddenly, Spyro and Cynder stepped forward to speak.
"Cynder and I would also like to come along Terrador," spoke the purple dragon.
Elder Visha spluttered at what Spyro had said, while the others looked at the purple dragon in surprise.
"We want to get to know the girl a little bit better," explained Cynder with a smile as she looked down at Miyuki. "After all, if she is going to be the new Dragon Warrior, then she needs to learn more about us dragons if she is going to help us."
"You make an excellent point Cynder," said Terrador with a nod of his head.
"I disagree!" roared Elder Visha angrily as he stomped his right front paw down on the ground. "This is not something to take likely of Guardians. Besides, this girl…"
"Might be the only hope, alongside Spyro, in defeating this new enemy of ours," interrupted Terrador with a frim glare upon his face. "We also can't force Spyro and Cynder to stay here in Dragon City. They have as much right to leaving the city as the rest of us. So I will hear no more of you excuses Elder Visha!"
The elder dragon let out a huff before turning and walking out of the council room in anger. Miyuki watched the elder dragon walk out of the room for a moment before looking up at all of the dragons again. Terrador let out an exasperated sigh as he shook his head at what had just transpired within the room.
"Honestly, that dragon is so stubborn," muttered the Earth Dragon.
"Yes, reminds me of some other dragon we know of," said Cyril as he and Volteer shared a look with each other.
"Yes, yes," agreed Volteer with a knowing smile. "Quite rash and doesn't know when to stop and think."
Keb rolled his eyes as Hunter shook his head with a light frown upon his face, while Miyuki, Hikaru and Hail all looked at the older dragons in confusion,. Miyuki was the first one to ask out of curiosity.
"Um…who exactly is this dragon you're all talking about?" asked Miyuki.
"My half-brother, Ignado," answered Keb as he looked down at Miyuki. "He tends to be reckless at times and doesn't really know when to stop and think."
"Yes," replied Hunter with a sigh. "Ignado is also known to be quite the adventurer when it comes to leaving the city."
"Speaking of him, where exactly is Ignado now?" asked Volteer.
"I think he's…" started Keb, but Cyril quickly interrupted him.
"I hate to be the one to stop this friendly chitchat, but shouldn't we start heading to the Dragon Temple?" asked the ice dragon.
"You're right Cyril," said Terrador with a sigh. "We'll continue this conversation for another time." Terrador then turned to the group and spoke again. "We will set out in fifteen minutes, so get yourselves ready for the long journey. We will meet up in the center of the city square."
With that said, Miyuki, the cheetahs, and the dragons made their way out of the council chamber. Keb led Miyuki, Hikaru and the two cheetahs back to the building they had been staying in last night. Miyuki, Hunter and Hail gathered up their stuff in the rooms that they had left in their temporary living quarters. They met back down stairs where Hikaru and Keb were waiting for them. Miyuki turned to look at her two cheetah friends once they had entered the room, and smiled sadly at them.
"Thank you for helping me you guys," said Miyuki. "You were a real help."
"You're welcome Miyuki," said Hunter with a gentle smile.
"Yeah, it was a pleasure in escorting you here to Dragon City," muttered Hail with his gaze turned to look at the wall of the room to his far left, "Despite our adventure to the city being…hectic."
Miyuki let out a chuckle before she surprised Hail by hugging him. Hail stiffened at the contact as he looked down at Miyuki in befuddlement before rolling his eyes, and hugging Miyuki back. Miyuki pulled away from Hail before she turned and hugged Hunter, with the older cheetah hugging Miyuki back.
"I'm going to miss you two," voiced Miyuki as she pulled away from Hunter to look up at him.
"This isn't goodbye, Miyuki," reassured Hunter as he gave Miyuki a soft smile. "I'll come and check up on you whenever I can. That's a promise young warrior."
Miyuki smiled at Hunter in return before Hikaru decided to speak up to get everyone's attention.
"I don't mean to sound impatient or anything, but shouldn't we start heading towards the city square?" asked Hikaru an impatient voice.
Miyuki smiled up at her dragon friend before she and the group walked out of the building and began to head towards the city square. When they reached the place, Terrador, the Guardians, Spyro and Cynder were all there waiting for them. Miyuki gave Hunter and Hail one last hug of goodbye before Hikaru lay herself down to let Miyuki climb onto her back. Once the young human had settled herself on Hikaru's back, the light dragon stood up. Hunter walked up to Hikaru as the dragon looked down at the cheetah with a questioning look upon her face.
"Look after Miyuki, Hikaru," said Hunter with a serious expression upon his features.
"I will Hunter," replied Hikaru with a firm look within her eyes.
"Let us be off," said Terrador before he spread out his wings and took to the air.
One by one, the Guardians, Spyro, Keb and Cynder followed after Terrador with Hikaru following after them last. Miyuki gripped the Light Dragon's mane as Hikaru leaped up into the air with one powerful thrust of her wings. Miyuki glanced over her shoulders to watch the forms of Hunter and Hail growing smaller as Hikaru flew higher up into the air. A sad smile formed on her face as she waved goodbye to the two cheetahs before facing forward again. The dragons flew higher up into the skies as they came closer to the clouds that were gliding above their heads. Miyuki stared up at the clouds in amazement and wonder, this was the first time that Miyuki had ever gotten this close to a cloud before. Hikaru glanced over her passenger and saw the large smile appearing on Miyuki's face.
"Are you surprised in being this close to the clouds?" asked Hikaru with a smirk upon her muzzle.
"Yeah," replied Miyuki as she continued to gaze up at the clouds above her head. "I always wondered what the clouds really felt like when I was a little kid."
"Well, Dragon Warrior, now's your chance to find out!" exclaimed Hikaru as she gave one powerful thrust of her wings to send her and Miyuki shooting up into a nearby cloud.
Miyuki let out a shout of surprise as she quickly grasped Hikaru's mane, but she held an excited look upon her face as they headed towards a cloud that was floating right above their heads. Keb saw the action and couldn't help but roll his eyes at the Light Dragon's antics before he quickly followed after the two. Hikaru continued to fly straight up towards the clouds and Miyuki couldn't help but press herself against Hikaru's neck as she closed her eyes tight. Miyuki felt the cool and damp touch of the cloud as they passed through it. After a moment, Hikaru soon flew out of the cloud as she now hovered above it. She looked over at Miyuki and couldn't help but let out a giggle when she saw how wet the human was. Miyuki sat up as she blinked her eyes open to clear them of the water before shaking her head to dry her hair. Once she did, Miyuki gave Hikaru a playful glare.
"Did you really have to go through a cloud to get me wet in the process?" asked Miyuki as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"You asked for it," said Hikaru with a smirk. "And besides, what was the fun in just skimming the edge of the cloud."
Before Miyuki could give her dragon friend a smart remark, Keb flew up out of the cloud as he hovered in front of Hikaru and Miyuki. His face held the look of annoyance and impatience.
"We don't have time to be playing games," said Keb in a firm voice that held no room for arguments. "We need to get to the Dragon Temple before it gets dark. We have a long flight ahead of us."
Miyuki slouched behind Hikaru's neck with a look of shame on her face, while Hikaru frowned at the earth dragon with a deadpanned look upon her features.
"Would you lighten? I was just showing Miyuki what the clouds were really like," said Hikaru with a raised eyebrow.
Keb only gave Hikaru a firm look before he turned around and dove back into the cloud. Hikaru let out a huff before she followed after the earth dragon with Miyuki having a firm grip on the Light Dragon's mane. Once again, they flew through the same cloud and came out from underneath it where the older dragons were waiting for them.
"Don't go flying off on your own like that!" scolded Terrador.
"Yes sir," said Miyuki with tense shoulders, while Hikaru let out another huff but nodded her head at the Earth Dragon.
Terrador only nodded before he turned and began to fly off again with the others following behind him. Once he was out of ear shot, Hikaru started to mutter under her breath.
"That guy and Keb don't know how to have any fun," grumbled the light dragon before she flew after the other dragons.
Miyuki smiled as she gave Hikaru a comforting pat on the neck. Hikaru turned her head to glance back at Miyuki as she gave the human girl a soft smile before turning to look straight ahead again and followed after the other dragons. The dragons continued to fly in complete silence for a while, but it was soon broken when Cynder suddenly decided to fly up alongside Hikaru and start up a conversation with Miyuki.
"So…what can you tell us about yourself, Miyuki?" asked Cynder.
Miyuki looked at Cynder in surprise before she shyly began to answer the black dragoness's question.
"W-well, there's not really much to know about me," said Miyuki with a light blush on her cheeks.
"Come on, Miyuki, don't be modest," spoked Hikaru in an encouraging voice as she glanced over at her rider again with a smirk.
Miyuki smiled at her dragon friend before she began to answer Cynder's question as she told the black dragon a little bit about herself. She told Cynder that she was the daughter of the chief of her tribe and that she had a twin sister, along with a loving mother. Cynder listened intently to Miyuki's story and at some point Spyro had joined them as he flew alongside his mate. Keb had also become interested in Miyuki's story as he flew on the left side of Hikaru to listen as well. Miyuki was a little nervous about the attention that she was getting from the three dragons, but soon grew more confident as she continued on with telling her story of what life had been like for her back in her home world. Her talk soon came to an end when Terrador suddenly shouted from the front.
"We're here!" shouted the earth dragon.
Terrador than angled himself downwards as he began to lead the group down towards the ground. Miyuki leaned slightly backwards as Hikaru followed after the other dragons as they all descended into a dive. When they did, Miyuki caught sight of a large building that stood on a large hill that over looked a large expanse of swamp land.
The building was domed with a crystal glass roof that seemed to sparkle in the sun's light. Standing around the domed roof were four tall stone spires and sitting on top of the spires were four blue gem stones that were cut into the shape of a diamond. And as Miyuki stared at the gem stones she couldn't help but feel as if they held some sort of power within them. Stretching out in front of the building was a long stone platform with a large arch standing tall over it. Sitting on top of the archway was a red oval stone that shone in the rays of the sun's light.
As the dragons flew closer to the building, Miyuki saw just how big the building was and she couldn't help, but be in awe of the structure before her. The dragons soon landed on the platform, which was in the shape of a large circle with low stone walls that went up to Miyuki's chest. Hikaru lowered herself to let Miyuki jump off of her back as the young human landed lightly on the stone ground. Terrador, Cyril and Volteer all stood under the arch that stood over the platform as they all gazed down at Miyuki.
"Welcome, Miyuki, to the Dragon Temple," announced Terrador.
To be continued
Okay, just so you all know, the Dragon Temple in this story isn't the one that you know in 'The Legend of Spyro' game. This temple is a newer version of the old one that had been destroyed in the game 'Dawn of the Dragon'…I think. If I'm wrong about the assumption then please correct me on it.
