A/N: let's do this
Chapter 4
(Normal POV)
As the group attempts to meet Booker and Elizabeth Comstock at the beach they were stopped by the local forces. The battle was gruesome to the many they've feared war but entertaining to those ignorant enough to think it's a bunch of stage performers acting a major fiction. The battle grew more heated and feels more real to those ignorant people. The Columbia military and police never faced an enemy so small yet have the strength of an entire army. They hold no candle to match their strength. The battle grew from the bridge to the many flying city streets connected by rails. The fighting became from the streets to building to building. Many store fronts became ruined by either group using it for cover or shot from the cross fire. A small group of clones circle around the Columbia military blockade and fired upon them. The group was led by Gareth to flank and stall incoming forces with the walker. The rest of the group took a detour to the beach. The group stopped in an ally way near the beach.
Razor turned and said to everyone "we need to be in disguise to proceed."
"Sir I was able to obtain some suits and a dress just in case" said one of the clones.
"Good work now we must quickly be dressed and leave most of our weapons in a dumpster or a different hiding spot."
"I think I have an idea, follow me" said Elizabeth.
The group followed Elizabeth to an abandoned apartment complex. The group found their own place to change into civilian clothing. The group took some time since Elizabeth and Razor had to help the clones into the suits because they only wore their armor. As soon the group is set and dressed they set off to the beach. The beach was bustling with the regular civilians of Columbia. Most of the clones were sent across the city to help out the others while Razor and Elizabeth found and follow booker.
(Razor POV)
I tell Elizabeth to follow on them by roof while I tail them by foot. I keep a service revolver in my coat next to one of my swords. I see that Booker and the Elizabeth of this time period have reached the Lutece twins. Elizabeth was asking Booker which one she should choose. He chooses the songbird brooch. I keep in close proximity of Booker since he is the main dimension conduit between Elizabeth Comstock and the other dimensions. I notice that they stopped near the transit station to talk to a military officer cleverly disguised as a normal woman. I follow them inside. To keep the act and not seem suspicious I make myself seem interested in boarding the ship. They stop at the counter where I stand a few steps behind them. I look around and the whole room I can identify everyone here are military officers and soldiers. I play along with this charade. Behind me I hear Gareth walking in. I peek behind me and he had the same idea about being in disguise. I notice that he is also with some clones also in disguise. They walk over behind me with some caution. He pats me on the shoulder and tugs me close to him so we can engage in conversation. We keep it to a whisper.
"Razor I'm here to assist."
"Damn it Gareth; who is leading the troops?"
"I handed command to one of the captains."
"I can handle this brother; Rift Ripper and I got this."
"Not without some assistance."
At that moment we hear the sound of someone's hand being stabbed. I turn to see Booker's hand with a knife going through it. I pull out my revolver and shot the ticket salesman. The station turns into a quick shoot out. Elizabeth or we call Rift Ripper burst through the sky light and lands near us. I go over to help provide some medical attention to Booker while Gareth and the clones procure the guns from the fallen soldiers. Rift goes over to see if the next hallway is clear. I turn my attention to Booker.
"Look buddy I don't know why are you're here but I'm nothing but trouble."
"Man, stops being a suka and listen; I'm here with my brother and his daughter; we were hired by an anonymous employer to assist you and get the both of you out of here."
"Why?"
"Let's keep out of the subject; there your hand his all wrapped up."
I walk over to see the clones; Rift and Gareth have been waiting for us. I lean over to check the next area. The whole place is crawling with Columbian military. I raise two of my fingers and I give a signal for one of the clones to fire his grenade launcher into the room. I lie down my fingers and I stick out my thumb. I give the signal for the clones to give cover to the clone I gestured to shoot into the crowd. I remove myself from my cover and I charge into the nearest military officer with my twin swords and I cut her down. The other Columbian soldiers saw and immediately my clone troopers' fire upon them. I watch in silence as bullets and blaster bolts rip through the air and through the enemy that dares stand in our way. There are pools of blood drowning the floor. I scan the area and I gesture the group to continue.
The way in between seems empty so we march forth. Something seems off about the next hall. I send one of the clones further down and there automated machine guns. I toss some fragmentation explosives down. A loud explosion is fills the air and silence over shadows a moment later. I gesture Gareth to follow me down the corridor.
We run down the hall with our weapons and what we found at the end of it dashes our hopes away in a swift motion. Among the destroyed machines and dead soldiers are civilians with fragmentation that went through them. There are still some civilians still alive but scared. I motion for the rest of the squad and our two VIP targets to come down this way. These must be the office workers who hid when the soldiers came to set up the trap for Booker. Behind them is the door leading to the docks. I try to think about it until Gareth fired a round into the air scaring away the civilians. Booker taps me on the shoulder.
"Hey buddy I got to take the girl to New York."
"Booker you're remembering an old memory that still haunts you."
"Wait what" befuddled he can't piece together what I meant.
"Booker you are reliving an old instruction from an old job; the job that destroyed your life."
His eyes widen and he begins to thrash around. He knocks over a table and a shelf until I have to punch him. He's out cold so he doesn't cause any problems. I figured that it will be a while until we get to the airship. We walk further down until we got to the boardwalk. I find it amazing that all of these people can be so oblivious to the fighting inside the city. We spread out and take a look around. I cover Booker's hands with my gloves so he can't be a serious target.
Some of the soldier got themselves a few drinks while Gareth, Elizabeth, Rift, Booker and might I add whom is still unconscious on my back, and myself head to the trolley. I pull the lever to call the trolley car but the power crystal inside it imploded and cause the local police to start gunning us. Our soldiers however also begin to shoot at them. We assist in the fighting. It's a good thing our soldiers spread out so we can tighten the noose. But as we close in on the local police a pod lands and impacts the ground. We turn to some sort of mechanized automaton. As soon the dust settles we run for cover when we saw that the automaton is brandishing a pepperbox machinegun. We duck for cover. The bullets from that damn thing shot a few clone troopers down. I put Booker down so I can bum rush that automaton with my swords.
I pull out my razor-chain swords and I launch myself full speed at that thing. I take a few bullets but nothing with stop me. I knock it down on its back and I run my sword down from the head down until it's a clean cut.
I stand up and survey the area. We only have ten clones left and the rest of my squad left. I walk over where my brother is and everyone else is. I see that Booker is finally awake. I glance over to my right where I see that there is something called a Shock Jockey. I know for a fact that booker have a natural gift to control these Vigors. I gesture my hand to notify the clones to hold the area while the rest of my squad move to the Hall of Heroes to acquire a bottle of this Shock Jockey.
We follow the path up to the entrance to the hall of heroes. As soon we enter there is a long walkway between the docks and the building. I look around and this reeks of ambush. I nod to Gareth to do his 'magic' for this.
He lugs out his twin machineguns and he shoots down the walk way. The boxes and the ticket building get torn to pieces by the gunfire. The hostiles that were hiding receive a deadly dose of bullets. The walk way now is clear of hostiles, so we can continue through. I tap Gareth's shoulder to hang back and cover the exit route.
The rest of us: Rift, Elizabeth, Booker and I walk inside the entrance hall of the building. The one sight that fills our eyes is a platoon of battle droids. At our feet lay the corpses of Cornelius Slate and his rebels.
