This was happening way too often recently, and she hoped her sensei could tell from the look she gave him as they sprinted through the unfamiliar town just what she thought of it.
There was probably some good reason behind it besides forgetfulness (because she knew full well it wasn't the size of his paycheck), but her patience with him was getting a bit thin. It seemed like every time they went to eat somewhere not in Konoha and she didn't have the money to cover them both, he just sprinted instead of paying!
"If you're testing how fast I can run out of a tight situation, Kakashi-sensei, you're not supposed to do that to other jounin!"
Instead, he'd done it every time since she became jounin.
Was this the reason only Yamato was ever suckered into eating with him?
