Chapter 19: Fang-Tastic

"Are you sure you're not just clairvoyant, and not psychic?" Ozzie stated to Justin as they walked towards their lockers.

"Well Benny's Grandma thinks I'm a witch, well Seer and Benny's a wizard." Justin answered the blonde as he and Benny opened their lockers to get their things for the next class.

"Its Spell-Master, Harry Potter was a Wizard." Benny corrected Justin as he closed his locker shut and put his books into his messenger bag.

"Considering what happened a couple days ago it doesn't sound too farfetched." Justin explained to Ozzie who in turn nodded.

"So do you know any cool spells?" The blonde asked the two brunettes. They both shook their heads.

"Keep the magic on the down low." Justin told the two, "Things just got back to normal."

Both boys were still new to the craft and did not want to mess with magic. It was hard enough being the teenage nerds they were and now on top of that juggle the life of witchcraft and wizardry. Grandma Knight has been insisting that they train their abilities to have better control of their powers. They were surprised she didn't pull a Spiderman, "with great power comes great responsibility." They explained to Ozzie something rather strange Benny's Grandma had told them the night Jason was vanquished.

"What do you mean 'she doesn't approve of the vampire situation'," Ozzie began to say as the three went to their usual table for lunch. "Does she not want you hanging out with me?"

Justin noticed the hurt tone in his voice as he stated the last part. "No Ozzie, we don't know what she meant. Benny and I know you would never hurt us."

"We actually haven't even given her time to explain to us this whole situation to us to be honest." Benny added to Justin's statement. "I think it's fang-tastic." Benny forced his smile and Justin noticed it wasn't a genuine Benny trademark smile.

Justin's phone started to vibrate in his pocket and he checked who it was. Aaron texted Justin, "411B - Talk NOW!" Justin excused himself from the table and rushed to the bathroom outside the cafeteria.

"What was that about?" Benny questioned Ozzie who shrugged.

Justin quickly dialed the number as he entered the bathroom and made sure no one was in there. He waited for the other end to pick up. He was muttering pick up multiple times until he heard the familiar voice.

"What's wrong? Did you get it?" Justin began to question the older male. "Please tell me they still had it!"

"No Justin." Aaron heard a panicked Justin and regretted his answer, "I was joking, I have it. Calm down." Aaron chuckled into the phone line after Justin's outburst. "I called because there is this cool figure he might like."

"Oh, well I don't know I just wanted to get him that. If you haven't gotten him anything then go for it." Justin answered back and waited for a response.

"No I have my gift ready."

While Justin listened to Aaron the bathroom door opened and he heard the all too familiar voice calling his name, "Justin?" The voice called, "JB, you ok?"

"Yeah sure thing Alison no problem this Friday sounds great." Aaron was confused, "I'll talk to you later, gotta go." Aaron came to the conclusion Benny had entered the room and hung up as well. Justin pocketed his phone and turned to Benny, "Oh, Hi Benny. What's up?"

"Nothing, I just thought you were in trouble or something." Benny began and recalled Justin's Friday plans with Alison, "So you and Alison?" Benny raised his eyebrows and smirked slightly.

"Oh, nothing. Don't worry." Justin chuckled and walked out of the bathroom and into the school halls.

Benny's smirk fell and wondered if Justin had forgotten their plans for Friday. He disagreed with his thoughts, "Justin never forgets that day."

Strange Justin never uses his phone unless his family or I call him. No one has his number but Aaron, his parents and me. He too walked out of the bathroom and followed Justin to their next class.

At the Baywood Estate preparations were well under way for the big day on Friday. With only a couple days left, Justin had given each member a list to follow to the letter. Aaron was in charge of getting Justin's gift and all the decorations for the party that was being held in Justin's backyard. Grandma Knight was in charge of getting a cake and making sure the other two don't stray from the list. Jake was left with grilling the food since Benny loves his cooking.

"It's amazing at what lengths Justin goes to for this day every year!" Aaron stated as he dropped bags on the island. His task was by far the hardest in his opinion but he didn't care as long as they were happy.

Jake helped the man take things out of the bags, "That's my son for you. Doesn't it remind you of someone?" He asked with a smirk.

"Brandon and you?" Aaron answered back with a smile, "Are you going to tell them about your powers?"

Jake hasn't told Aaron about the deal he made with his wife. He figured now is a good time to explain to him, "I can't. I made a promise to Miranda before she left. And I need to tell you something, but you have to promise not say anything." The impresario stated to the brunette man.

"That blows Jake. I think they should know, but sure anything man." Aaron sat on a stool to hear what his long time friend had to say.

"Penny will be hear any minute and she doesn't know either." Aaron's blue eyes grew wide in astonishment since you can't get anything past Penny. "Brandon was the only one who knew this. After Justin was born-"

"Spit it out man! Now you have me all nervous." Aaron nearly shouted.

"My powers are leaving me." Jake finally spat out.

"What!" Aaron shouted, "But you use it all the time."

Jake grinned a bit knowing that wasn't his true gift. In fact that was only his passive gift he inherited from his family, but he was referring to the active gift he once had. This gift he had was very powerful and only a few ever possessed it. He couldn't use it much because of the energy it took; not to mention it exhausted his mind to no end.

"That is my passive power. I used to have an active power. You see my family's gift started with a woman who got visions like Justin, only it was a recessive gene since it didn't start with a male. Every generation the gene got stronger for the male resulting in active powers. I had a power known as molecular-immobilization, the ability to stop molecules from moving giving the effect of freezing something." Jake stopped so his friend could soak the new information in.

"That sounds so cool. What happened or how did it work?" Aaron asked Jake full of curiosity.

"It was merely thinking and letting my mind make it happen. It would only work for a couple seconds since it exhausts the mind a lot. After Justin's birth it would happen spontaneous and eventually to the point where instead of freezing completely in place you would move slowly until the effects wore off in a couple seconds." Jake finished explaining while putting some decorations away.

Aaron was a bit shocked that he lost his power, he would have loved to see it in action. Still he felt like he wasn't telling him something, but he shrugged it off.

"I'm sorry." Aaron didn't know what to say in a situation like this, so he said the first thing that came to mind, an apology.

"I'm not saying I regret having Justin. He's the best thing that ever happened to me, especially since Miranda and I have been trying to have a child. You already know we were told we could never have children, ever." Jake stashed the rest of the decorations and got out a pitcher and filled it with water.

"What's that for?" Aaron asked pointing to the pitcher filled with water in front of him.

Jake smirked wildly, "I know you want to see my power in action. My passive gift works just fine." Aaron chuckled and waited for his friend to perform some magic.

Jake shoved the pitcher to Aaron and told him to raise it high above the island. He instructed Aaron that on the count of three to dump the water out onto the marble island top. Aaron did as he was told and tipped the pitcher on its side to start the waterfall. Jake concentrated hard on the object in front of him. It took a lot out of him just in the concentration of watching the water spew out of the pitcher. Jake closed his eyes and listened to the water with his mind. He put his fingertips to his temples as the water created an image in his head. Once he saw the image in his head perfectly he opened his eyes and saw the water starting to spew out. The water entered free-fall for a second before it magically slowed down in front of the two men. Aaron stared in awe as the water slowly trickled down the air and onto the marble top. The first spill of water bounced off the counter slowly and back into the air before it slowly hit the island again. Jake told Aaron to put his hand in the waterfall. Aaron put his hand in and the water slowly separated in-between his fingers. The water felt different in his hands. It felt soft to the touch and calming. Very different than free-falling water from the tap, yet very similar to that of a pool. The men did not hear a door open in the distance and the elder woman approach. Jake could feel a headache coming on for some reason.

"If the boys saw you, you're wife would not be happy." Penny broke his concentration and startled the men.

Jake lost concentration from the water and startled the two that Aaron dropped the pitcher. Both the water and pitcher came falling down. The pitcher shattered into tiny shards of glass all over the island with water spilling down to the floor creating a giant mixture of broken glass and water.

"Hi Penny." Both said in unison, "Didn't hear you come in." They sheepishly grinned at her and began cleaning the mess.

While the two men started to clean the mess they created, Penny was telling Jake that the boys refused to start their training. She told him it was important for them to begin as soon as possible. Jake reassured her that in time the boys would change their mind and begin with the training. In the mean time he said to prepare for anything that could happen in the next few days, after all Knightwood Bay isn't exactly your ordinary town.
