Chapter 23: Chill Out!

"Run!" Justin exclaimed before the figure threw the ice ball. The ball went flying across the yard and hit a tree. The tree was instantly frozen.

"That would have been so cool, if I wasn't running for my life!" Benny exclaimed.

"Is that who I think it is?" Justin questioned. "Your spell didn't actually work, did it?"

The figure kept blasting ice ball in all directions freezing everything it came in contact with.

Benny shrugged, "How am I supposed to know. I'm new at this!"

"Guys what is that thing!" Alison exclaimed. "Can someone explain what's going on?"

"Its Sub-Zero!" Ozzie exclaimed.

"Sub-What?" Erica shouted. "Never mind. That thing is going to pay. It totally frosted my hair!"

"Let's just get rid of it before anyone sees it." Justin stated.

"How? Did you forget it can throw ice!" Benny shouted.

"I'll take care of it." Erica got up and quickly went towards the figure. She used vampiric speed to move away from the ice balls. She was about to grab it's head when the ninja sped away in the blink of an eye leaving an ice clone. Erica shattered it and sped towards the ice ninja. They both were going at, kicks and punches flying across the yard until the figure finally grabbed Erica by the neck, picked her up and threw her across the yard.

"Don't let it touch you," she struggled to say. "It can freeze you."

Ozzie ran to it and punched him square in the stomach sending him flying towards the presents. Ozzie's hand was ice cold and numb. The table collapsed and the presents trashed and frozen. The ninja made quick contact with Justin, who was hiding behind the table with Benny, sending him into a vision. Everything around him stopped moving; his eyes began to glow and it quickly faded away.

"So," Benny asked, "what did you see?"

"Water. I saw water. C'mon. Can you guys distract him?" He dragged Benny along.

The ice ninja quickly got up and threw ice balls at the three. Alison ducked in time and avoided being hit.

"Where did the nerds go?" Erica exclaimed. The ice ninja threw what seemed to be an ice ball but transformed into a clone. It ran towards Ozzie at great speed; he didn't have time to react when it completely shattered into tiny shards of ice. He looked across and saw what Erica had thrown.

The figure looked furious that it began to raise its arms in the air and began summoning all the moisture around him into a ball. The ninja kept spinning and twirling its hands around in circles as an icy shield erupted from his body and surrounded him. The shield expanded even further as he kept building force. A ball of ice began to form in between his hands. The shield reached to where Erica was standing that it began to burn her skin from sheer cold. Alison came to move her away and grew weak from the force she used.

Just then Justin and Benny came from behind with a bucket of water. The other three turned around. "One of you needs to throw this at him." Justin huffed out.

" We can't we're kind of weak." Alison and Erica stated.

"I'll do it!" Ozzie exclaimed while raising his hand.

Justin told him to throw it directly into the shield. Ozzie did as he was told. "Just not with the buck-"

Too late the bucket penetrated the icy shield at great speed and formed an ice shard as the water flew out of the bucket. The shard impaled the ice ninja sending him flying into the pool. As he was flying everything that he froze began to quickly melt, including the pool. He made a splash and sank to the bottom. Bubbles rose up to the surface and eventually so did the action figure.

"I guess he just needed to chill." Benny stated. Justin rolled his eyes and picked up the figure.

He looked around at the mess it had caused, streamers and balloons popped around the floor, water everywhere. He looked at the presents, all ruined. "So much for your presents."

"It's okay I had fun though. Although, I could have done without the crazy ice ninja. I will never look at Sub-Zero the same ever again." Ozzie looked at the presents and saw there was one that wasn't ruined. He picked it up and read the name.

"I'm really sorry this happened, Benny." Alison said to him.

"Who gave you that present anyway?" Erica questioned.

"Hey, Justin, Benny I found a survivor!" He showed them the small box. "I'm sorry about the ninja thing; I know how much you liked Sub-Zero so I thought. Well, anyway I think you might like this. It's from Justin."

He smiled at Ozzie and took the box. "Thank you Ozzie, but it wasn't your fault. It was mine, I tried animating an inanimate object. I guess it backfired and brought it to life."

"Which reminds me, we need to tell your grandma to start our training." Justin told Benny who agreed.

"So what'd you get me?" Benny asked the shorter boy.

Benny unwrapped the small box and opened it. "The watch, you remembered!" He was amazed by his new watch that the ruined party didn't even matter anymore. "It light's up and everything! Thanks Justin."

"Yea, since you're always late for things I figured this would help keep track of time." He joked with him.

"Ha ha-ha, you're so funny!" Benny stated back.

"So Erica, did you have fun?" Alison asked.

"Yea did you?" Ozzie exclaimed jumping up and down. Erica pushed him into the pool. "Now I am."
