Rossi's conversation with Hotch was brief. No new leads and someone named Jack from CTU called to offer his assistance. After some explaining on Rossi's part, Agent Aaron Hotchner felt a little more at ease with sharing the details of the investigation with this Jack person, even though all Rossi could say about him was that he was a friend of Karen's and someone she trusted with her life.

Somewhere along the way, the wind had picked up and it began to rain. David had just turned out the light and was listening to the storm when he saw a bright flash, followed by a loud crack of thunder. Seconds later, he heard screaming, and was out of bed and across the hall in seconds to find Karen, standing with her back against the wall with a terrified look on her face.

"Karen?" he said anxiously as he pulled her to him

"I...I..." was all she could say thru her sobs as he pulled her close and wrapped his arms around her protectively

"It was just the storm," he said as she buried he face in the crook of his neck as she attempted to calm herself down

"It was so bright and loud," she said as she held on to him for dear life

"It was just thunder"

"No, not that, the explosion...It was so bright and loud"

"Shhh, it's alright now," he said quietly as he loosened his hold on her slightly and kissed her forehead

"I'm sorry David, I know I'm acting like a child," she said, unable to meet his gaze

"Hey" he said tilting her chin up "You have every right to be frightened, anyone who has been through what you have today would be"

"I didn't mean to disturb you," she said attempting to pull away from him

"Where do you think you're going?" he asked lacing his fingers together in the small of her back, trapping her in his embrace.

"I just thought I would let you get back to bed"

"And you just thought I was going to leave you in here all by yourself?"

"I'm a big girl David, I'm sure I can manage. I'll just keep the light on this time" she replied

"I think I would feel better if you come with me," he said leading her toward the door

"Where are we going?"

"Well, to be honest, as fond as I am of this room, my bed is more comfortable!"

"What makes you think I'm going to sleep in your room?"

"Maybe I need you too"

"And just why would that be?" she asked suspiciously

"Maybe I'm afraid of storms?"

"Does that line ever really work?' she asked

"You tell me," he said as he leaned down and captured her lips in a deep kiss

Karen was slightly surprised by his actions, but instead of pulling away, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. David found himself gently backing her up against the wall as he deepened the kiss and began to let his hands roam freely up and down her back while his lips found their way to her neck and then her collarbone as she tilted her head to give him better access.

"I thought you wanted to take it slow" she managed to say as her breathing became more erratic and her knees began to buckle

"Do you want me to stop?" he asked as he pulled back to look at her

"No" she said leaning up to kiss him

David scooped her up in his arms and carried her back into his room where he gently placed her on his bed. As he lay beside her, he began to unbutton her top slowly while he cradled her against him, feathering kisses along her jawbone to her chin, then down her neck to the tops of her breasts.

"David, are you sure you really want to do this?" she asked breathlessly

"Karen" he said pulling back to look into her eyes "I have never been more sure of anything in my life"

The growing intensity of the storm only fueled their desire as they alternated between making love and cuddling. By morning, they were both exhausted and content, as they lay snuggled together in what could only be described as an intense, loving death grip.

"Good Morning" said David quietly as he kissed the top of her head "Did you sleep well?"

"I could ask you the same thing," she replied with a giggle as she snuggled closer, running her had lightly across his chest

"I think the storm is over"

"In more ways than one" she said quietly

As he was about to answer, he heard his phone begin to vibrate on the nightstand

"I suppose I should answer that" he grumbled as he moved slightly to retrieve the offending object "Rossi" he said sleepily "Yes, were fine" he said as he lightly traced small circles on her arm with his finger "No, she's fine, albeit a little tired...No I haven't looked out the window yet..."

"What is he saying?" she asked with a worried expression on her face

"Hold on...apparently there are a lot of trees down due to the storm, he's asking about any damage here" replied David as he went back to his conversation "Yes, we can be there in an hour...I'll tell her" he said before he hung up

"What was that all about? Ask me what?"

"Does the name Ronald Saxton mean anything to you?"

Karen sat up, pulling the blankets around her as she thought about the name.

"I think he was an aide to Tom Lennox, not one of my biggest fans, in fact Tom was the reason I resigned my position, why?"

"I think we need to get to the office," he said as he pulled her to him and kissed her deeply "Oh and by the way, you have some visitors waiting for you when we get there" he said with a smile

"Who?"

"Just some old friends who are a little worried about you"
