YEAH! Chapter 18! I bet you're all so happy that it's almost chapter 20. Wait, maybe not. I know that some of you are probably like 'NOOOOO' or 'NOOOOO' or - okay you get the point right? :) Well these next few chapters are going to be about how the couples and families turned out. The last official chapter will be Zatanna and Dick, don't worry. This story was originally about the Grayson couple and family, but there is no way I could live with myself without telling you how everyone else turned out. LOVE YOU ALL!
Chapter 18: Mr. Wally and Artemis West
1 month after the incident...
The west boys ran around the house, one faster than lighting, like his father, and one content with being slower, like his mother. Artemis smiled as she watched her two children run around the house like predator and prey, just playing hide-and-seek. She stirred the bowl of brownie mix and poured it into two large pans, what do you expect? Two out of four people in the house had really fast metabolism, and with them, sugar is a given. Artemis barely put the pans in the oven and shut the oven door when she felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her torso. She nearly screamed.
Artemis laughed as she felt a warm breath on her neck and heard a familiar sigh next to her ear. She turned around in Wally's arms and pecked him, which then Wally would push further, making it a deeper kiss. Wally had done this since Artemis had been kidnapped by Klarion, which she didn't mind if Wally did that, it was just what happened after.
"Eww!" The youngest boy, Richard groaned in spite of seeing his mother and father kiss. He was only three after all, what do you expect from a three year old? Artemis and Wally laughed and separated, Artemis cleaning up the mess in the kitchen and Wally playing with Jayden and Richard in the living room. Artemis finished cleaning up, which she does more often now than ever, and joined her husband and sons who were playing cards.
It was nearly 9:00 p.m. when Artemis decided to get the kids to bed. She carried Richard down the hall, into his room that was filled with stuffed animals and family pictures, and set him in his bed. She smiled and kissed his forehead, whispering 'I love you' and quietly leaving the young boy's room. She walked down the hall to the room next to it, and entered the room. Jayden lay in his bed looking at pictures that he had drawn of his favorite heroes. Batman and Superman were the ones he loved the most, well except for his dad, his father was his true favorite. But not counting family it was Batman and Superman. Artemis sank down to the oldest child's level and smiled at him. Jayden looked at his mother and smiled. They exchanged goodnight hugs and goodnights, and Artemis kissed Jayden's head as his eyelids closed.
Artemis left Jayden's room quietly and noticed that all the lights were turned off in the living room and kitchen, so Artemis headed to bed. Wally laid at the side of the bed, looking asleep, when Artemis climbed into bed beside him. Artemis was almost asleep when she heard Wally whisper.
"I love you and the kids more than anything in the world," He had whispered. Artemis smiled and turned to look at Wally, who had his big green eyes open fully. They smiled at each other, and being the married couple they were, the two fell asleep happily in one another's arms that night.
Okay, so maybe it was a bit sentimental and a little cheesy, but I think it was a pretty cute ending, don't you? Let's just hope that I can make the rest of the couples endings good as well. NEXT CHAPTER'S COMING UP!
