Sixth Quarter: Of Light novels and cuties

Pairing: AkaxFem!Kuro, MayuxFem!Kuro sibling love

Kuroko Chihiro, like his little sister Kuroko Tetsumi is fond of basketball the only differences are he has been blessed with physical abilities to actually play the game whereas his sister can only be a manager and the other difference is he quitted the club as soon as he's in his third year and also the way that people really didn't notice that they were related because of how they looked, he has gray hair and eyes while she has teal ones, only a few people and their family knew their relation.

In a powerhouse-like Rakuzan, he could easily be buried and replaced by other players who is far more talented than him, in his second year three of the infamous "Uncrowned Generals" joined the basketball team, giving them an automatic spot in the regulars and thus he was surpassed and his third and final year, one of the members of the "Generation of Miracles" joined the club and of course, he was out stripped too even more so after finding out that the said freshman had become the captain right after he joined.

Being overpassed and subjected to rigorous training, he decided to submit a resignation letter and to just spend his last remaining year in Rakuzan as a normal student.

But of course he could never be normal, he was the same as his sister after all, almost invisible.

"Are you Kuroko-san?"

Chihiro looked up from his light novel to address the person asking him. He was greeted by a slightly small stature, flaming red hair and heterochromatic eyes of ruby and gold peering down at him.

And if he can remember correctly, this man was Akashi Seijuurou, the basketball club's current captain and one of the so called "Generation of Miracles"

"How are you?" Akashi asked without even a slight change in his expression.

"Aren't you overly familiar? Shouldn't you be saying "it's nice to meet you" than that?" Chihiro replied as he focused on his novel again.

"? But you're Tetsumi's older brother are you not? And besides we were in the same basketball club."

At the mention of his sister's name, he looked up, puzzled as to why someone like him would address his sister so familiarly. He is aware that Akashi and his sister came from the same middle school but he would have never expected that they were this close.

"Yes I am and may I ask how are you so overly familiar with my sister?" He questioned, still bothered by the fact that the man he just met had called his little sister by her first name.

"How?" Akashi let out a chuckle "Because I'm her boyfriend, that's how."

'W-what?! Boyfriend?!' He would have never expected his sister to date someone, especially someone as famous and handsome (he has a lot of fangirls okay.) as Akashi Seijuurou. Moreover, why haven't his sister told him something as important as this? He still haven't interrogated the man to deem him worthy of dating his adorable sister, he still haven't threatened to kill him if he hurts his sister and he still even haven't gave them his blessings and now she's dating?!

"What? How? Since when?" Was his intelligent reply.

It seems to amuse Akashi even more though. "Your sister and I are in a relationship, I asked her out and she agreed. On our first year in Teikou." The redhead answered calmly as if he was not talking to his girlfriend's brother who, may he add, is looking angrier by the second.

Chihiro fumed even more, they have been together for this long and his sister wasn't even concerned to tell him? They talk for like an hour everyday and yet she didn't even mention something as important as having a boyfriend! 'I guess she's still mad at me for leaving her and studying here in Kyoto' He thought 'but still, angry or not, she should have told me!' Oh, he was so giving his beloved little sister a call after he's done with Akashi.

"I assume with your expression and silence that she haven't told you yet?" Akashi smugly chided.

"…Shut up, I'm calling Tetsumi later." The gray-haired replied doubtingly, who knows what nonsense Akashi's spouting is actually the truth, he could be just messing with him. Though he highly doubt that he was the kind to joke around.

"Suit yourself. By the way, what are you reading?" Akashi inquired to change the current topic.

He closed the novel and cautiously replied. "…An L.N"

The man in front of him looked at the little book with interest. "An 'L.N'?" He asked, seemingly clueless about these things.

"A light novel. You've never read one?" Chihiro asked with less caution.

"Are they interesting?" The redhead asked back as he took the book.

"They're like normal short stories, their content isn't so heavy so you can read them at your own pace and of course, you may like and dislike some but if you actually like them, they can be pretty interesting." He replied enthusiastically.

"…Hmph." Akashi slightly shook as he chuckled.

"What? Are you making fun of my hobby?" Chihiro asked irritatingly.

"No. I was just thinking that you and Tetsumi are really similar, she also loves to read things." As the redhead was saying this, his normally hard eyes turned a little gentle as he stared at the book in his hand.

He begrudgingly decided to accept Akashi as his sister's boyfriend a little because of that simple gesture showed him that the redhead cherishes his sister, he tried to be a little nicer.

"Of course we are, we're siblings after all. If it interests you that much, I could lend that to you." He said as he looked at Akashi who was browsing the novel. The redhead browsed a little more before closing it.

"I've read it." He stated.

To say that Chihiro was perplexed is an understatement. "Seriously?!" 'That was fast! What kind of person are you really, Akashi Seijuurou?' He added as an afterthought before asking the redhead for his opinion. "…And, what did you think?"

"The content is somewhat banal but… I will accept that Ringo-tan is cute." Akashi straightforwardly answered.

"What do you mea-… Eh…? Akashi?" He started to inquire but a certain thing caught his interest 'tan? Cute? What the hell, is this even Akashi?' He was beyond baffled and crept out by now but he suddenly had an idea.

The redhead was about to reply when he saw his senior furiously typing away at his cellphone, he decided to wait until he was done.

A few seconds later, the gray-haired snapped his phone shut and gave Akashi a complacent look.

"What?" He asked before he felt his own phone vibrate, he took it out and unconsciously widened his eyes a bit when he saw who the caller is.

It was none other than his girlfriend, he let a half smile appear on his face. Normally, he was the one who would initiate their everyday conversations, Kuroko rarely calls him first but whenever she does, it always feels refreshing.

"Good Morning Tetsumi." He said as he answered the call.

He was greeted with a monotonous "Put the phone on loud speaker."

He was about to defy her command but he can feel how serious she was now so he obeyed, he wasn't scared of his girlfriend of course, that's blasphemy, he just don't want her to be upset okay.

"Done." He said as he put his phone on speaker.

"Chihiro onii-sama, good morning, how are you? Have you eaten yet?" The tealhead ignored him as she greeted her brother.

"I'm doing fine Sumi and I've eaten breakfast, how about you? How are your studies?" Chihiro replied while still keeping the smug look on his face.

He was answered with a glare but he didn't mind. He knows that Akashi is practically incapacitated since he is currently talking to Tetsumi.

"I'm doing fine too onii-sama and I drank vanilla milkshake earlier so I'm actually quite full and my studies have been okay as usual although I am tutoring Kagami-kun now because he's failing History." The tealhead replied enthusiastically, or as enthusiastic as she can be.

At the mention of the other redhead, Akashi stopped glaring at Chihiro to address his girlfriend. "Tetsumi, what did I told you about milkshakes? And since when did you start tutoring Kagami Taiga? I was not aware of this." He reprimanded.

"It is not good for my health and shit. I know that" Akashi was taken aback, his girlfriend was usually so polite and hearing her curse could only mean one thing, she is totally aggravated.

He was about to retort when the tealhead spoke again. "Just today and should I really tell you? I mean you did not even told me about 'Ringo-tan' and how she's 'cute'." Kuroko actually spat.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Ringo is-"He started to explain when he was cut off again.

"Is the girl that you find cute. How adorable, you call her with a '-tan' too and you haven't even told me, your girlfriend, that I am okay enough." He heard the tealhead say icily.

He looked at the man in front of him who is still sporting that smug look that was accompanied with a same smug smirk right now. He glared holes at him, already plotting ways to kill him without anyone knowing because Tetsumi would surely hate him if she knew that he was the one who killed her only brother.

"…You fiend." He muttered under his breath but luckily for Chihiro and unluckily for him, his girlfriend heard him clearly.

"So I'm a fiend now? Great." There wasn't a slightest change in her tone but Akashi can tell that she is way beyond pissed and if they weren't so far away from each other, she may have punched him by now.

"Will you calm down and let me explain?" He said exasperated, he can only guess what her brother actually sent her that made her this angry.

"I am calm, how could you even imply that I am not calm, I am calm as a millpond." Said the girl from the other line.

"No you are not, you are as calm as a raging ocean and don't contradict me, I'm always right. Anyways, will you let me explain first?" He coax, half scolding as he tried to make the girl listen to him.

It took a few seconds before the tealhead finally replied. "Okay, explain." She said more calmly that earlier.

"You know of your brother's fondness of these light novels am I right? I just met him earlier while he was reading another of these novels, we talked and I asked him about what he's reading and he lent it to me. I read it of course and when asked what I thought about it I replied that the story was quite banal and that Ringo" Chihiro unhelpfully added "-tan" which made the redhead scoff. "was cute. Ringo is a fictional character, I don't even know what your brother told you but what I am telling you right now is the truth…" He trailed off.

A smirk appeared on his face and Chihiro immediately frowned upon seeing it.

"Though I am deeply touched that you are jealous just because I called someone cute, Tetsumi-tan" He teased, completely ignoring the warning look the gray-haired is giving him.

The tealhead didn't reply.

"Oh? Did I make you blush? Forgive me and I want to let you know that there is absolutely no need for me to tell you that you are cute because I know that you are the most beautiful person in the whole world and of course, the fact that you are only mine always makes me feel the most fortunate man in the world too." He is aware of how cheesy he sounds but if it is to reassure his Tetsumi, he doesn't mind and seeing her precious brother seething with anger is an added bonus.

It is his turn to look smug while the other man scowled.

"Stop it Sei-kun." Was the only thing that the tealhead can utter.

"Why should I? When I know that I'm telling the truth." He said without doubt.

"Okay I forgive you Sei-kun. Just stop this, I still need to study for my test." The tealhead who was composing herself complained.

"Again why? Oh, is it because you can't concentrate on your studies because your mind is full of me? I'm flattered Tetsumi." His smirk widened as Chihiro's eyes darkened.

"I said stop, I am hanging up now Sei-kun, I wish you and onii-sama a nice day, is he still there?" Kuroko replied as flipping of pages was heard in the background.

"Yes he is and he is glaring at me quite well. Anyways, see you soon and I wish you also good luck on your exams today. Kuroko-san is seemingly too irritated to actually say goodbye so I will do it in his place. Well, I miss you." He said, knowing that it will affect the girl on the other line.

"Sei-kun!" He heard her uncharacteristically shout before hanging up.

"Well," Akashi looked at the still fuming Chihiro as he closed his phone. "Looks like I won, nice try though, I will give you that." He placed the light novel beside the silent man, giving him one last smug smirk before walking away.

To: Sumi

Subject: BOYFRIEND

Hey Sumi! How have you been? Well I met someone interesting today, Akashi Seijuurou was his name, familiar? Of course he is, he's your BOYFRIEND after all but I will scold you later for not telling me something as important as that, onii-sama is hurt you know.

Regarding about why I actually messaged you, do you know someone called Ringo? You see, your boyfriend here just told me that this Ringo-tan, can you actually believe it, your all too serious boyfriend calling someone with a –tan of all things, maybe he really likes her? I'm not sure though. But he indeed called her Ringo-tan and even said that she was cute.

Don't worry though my precious baby sister, I will make sure to make him pay for what he's done. It can be considered as unfaithfulness isn't it? He's rampaging around because you are not here to keep him on leash, what a despicable guy he is but I will protect you sis, so break up with this jerk right now, he doesn't deserve someone as great as you.

Chihiro looked at his message once more before deleting it and shutting his phone close.

Well at least he found something enjoyable to do in his remaining year in Rakuzan and that is to annoy Akashi and to get in the way of his relationship with his sister.

Oh he could already imagine how fun it would be.

'If I could actually last a year seeing how Akashi must already be plotting my death'

He supposed that it could be all worth it in the end.

Okay… I dunno why I wrote it but I did and I just don't know.

And yeah about the requests, if I make another oneshot and it is not one of the requests it is either:

a. I can't think of a scenario where the request is applicable.

b. I can't do it either it is too hard or I just don't like the prompt.

c. I may have forgotten about it (I tend to forget things srlsy)
