A/N: I may have alluded to this already, but Silas is not actually a "shadow" of Stefan in my story. So Silas and Stefan do not look like each other and Stefan does not have a doppelganger at all in "Revenge & Power." Silas looks more like David Beckham (minus the tattoos) in this story instead. Please keep this in mind while you read this chapter and the rest of R&P, which will be hopefully be finished soon depending on how much homework, assignments, projects, etc. I'll have when school starts again on Monday.
"Did you know?" Klaus suddenly asked Alyssa when they were back in the living room of his mansion. Alyssa didn't have to ask him what he was talking about because she already knew what was on his mind – the hallucination that Sophie had created.
"Yes," Alyssa replied.
"Then why didn't you tell me earlier that Hayley wasn't actually pregnant?" Klaus questioned.
"Because you had to learn your lesson somehow," Alyssa explained.
"What lesson?" Klaus inquired. Alyssa smiled at him, an impish sparkle in her blue eyes.
"Always use protection if you decide that you want to sleep with a werewolf, witch or human, especially if you're a vampire-werewolf hybrid," she responded. Klaus laughed and Alyssa's smile wavered a little.
"It's not funny, Niklaus Mikaelson. It's the truth," she said.
"It kind of is," Klaus countered. Alyssa smiled slightly but didn't say anything more.
"So...can I sleep with you if I use protection?" Klaus questioned as innocently as he could with a mischievous smile on his face. Alyssa gave him a reluctant smile.
"No, because I don't sleep with arrogant hybrids," she retorted. She walked out of Klaus's house, leaving him alone in the living room.
A short while later, while Alyssa was walking home, she got a text message from Rebekah asking if they could meet at the Mystic Grill. She texted back saying that she would be there soon and speeded there instead, having gotten tired of walking but not wanting to teleport. The first thing that Alyssa saw when she walked into the Grill was Alaric sitting next to Damon at the bar. Alaric had a stack of half-marked history papers stacked on the barstool next to him and Alyssa hoped that he hadn't marked them while he was drunk. She didn't need an extremely good mark on her history essay because she already had an A in his class, but it would be nice to get her paper back without a bourbon stain on it.
"Alyssa!" A vaguely familiar voice said from the other end of the bar. She walked in the direction of the call but froze when she saw that the person who had called her name was Kol. He slid off the barstool with his drink still in his hand and walked up to her.
"Where's Rebekah?" Alyssa asked.
"Don't know, but I took her cellular phone," Kol replied with a mischievous smile as he pulled his younger sister's cell phone from his coat pocket. Alyssa sighed in exasperation.
"Why did you take it and text me then?" She questioned.
"Because I needed to talk to you," Kol slurred. He downed the rest of his drink and Alyssa saw his smile widen.
"No need to be nervous, darling, I forgive you for tying me up and snapping my neck. Though, if you weren't so sinfully beautiful I would have loved to kill you," he said. Alyssa slowly backed away from the drunken Original.
"Okay…" she said, unsure what to say. Kol smiled and closed the distance between them. He leaned in to kiss her but Alyssa slapped him.
"Don't try to kiss me again," she said flatly. The Original vampire drew back in surprise and Alyssa walked out of the Grill, unaware that Alaric and Damon had seen everything that had happened. She opened the door to the Grill and stepped out into the cool, early evening air. She nearly collided with Silas, who was accompanying Violet there to retrieve Kol. Silas didn't look surprised to see Alyssa. Instead he looked pleased to see her and smiled.
"Well, if it isn't my lovely little protégé," he said.
"It's good to see you again," Alyssa said, returning his smile with one of her own. Silas's smile widened.
"Then come here already and hug me," he said. Alyssa finally did after a few seconds of hesitation. Elijah saw the affectionate gesture as he made his way to the Grill to meet up with Damon and Alaric, who wanted to discuss new plans with him to get the cure for vampirism out of Katherine's grasp. Alyssa saw him coming towards her and tried to squirm out of Silas's arms. Silas spun around with her still in his arms, saw Elijah and smirked at him as he let go of Alyssa.
"Good evening to both of you," Silas said politely to Elijah and Alyssa before he continued on his way to the Mystic Grill with Violet.
