Sorry for taking so long guys, but here you go! Chapter 17!
Chapter 17
Wally followed Superman without a fight or even a word of protest. He was put inside of a metal cell as Superman put the metal collar, that would keep him from reaching his meta abilities, around his neck. Superman looked at him sadly before he left and closed the door leaving him by himself. Wally looked around at the metal walls and looked down trying to forget everything that had happened, all the people he had hurt, he didn't want to think, to remember. It wasn't long until the door opened once more. Wally didn't dare look up as the dark knight entered the room.
"Kid Flash, Robin has informed me of what had happened during your absence from the team. I want to hear what happened from you." He said in his gruff voice as he looked at Wally. If Wally didn't know better he'd almost believe that Batman looked sorry for him but if he had seen it, it was gone. Wally looked up at him most of him wanted to say nothing, to not plea his case and say his actions were all his. He felt like he was guilty. He knew he was. Yet deep down he wanted to believe that he didn't hurt his friends on purpose, that it was all the machine. Even if it was, Wally only saw were he went wrong...and Artemis, she had trusted him. She had believed in him and he beat her into the ground. He had attacked the girl he had feelings for. The one person who kept believing he was on the good side.
"Well?" Batman asked as he looked at Wally. Wally gave in and explained everything. From running off to getting captured by the joker to agreeing to being his apprentice to save his friends to seeing his father and then to the machine that made him lose control of his body. He explained it all, every painstaking detail, every horrifying moment, everything. He let it all out. But his words were emotionless, completely dull as if he had lost the war and was recalling the memories he wished to forget. He didn't have much feeling left, he explained himself but didn't beg for forgiveness he didn't ask for another chance. He told it as if it were black and white and the grey had faded from the picture. Wally just wasn't the same laughing speedster he was. He was broken and guilty. He looked away when he finished telling Batman.
Batman looked at him, he didn't attempt to ease his guilty conscious. If that was one thing Batman knew well it was that the only one who could make Wally feel like it wasn't his fault would be himself and it was a choice he'd have to make on his own. Batman nodded, "I need to discuss this with the justice league to see what has to be done. You'll be informed of our decision once we reach one." He said and left the cell.
Wally watched as he left and he sat there and stared at the wall. He didn't want to know what would happen to him, he wanted to know what was happening to his friends. He wanted to know if they were okay. If Artemis was okay. Robin was still fighting for him but he couldn't even fight for himself. He wanted to know how they would be without him. He couldn't join the team, he couldn't trust himself around them. Wally wasn't about to risk them, never again. He wanted to scream and punch the wall but he couldn't seem to get anything out. It was like he was dead, a walking corpse. Yet he had the emotions of a lingering spirit, guilty and unforgiving. Unable to let go of the choices and move on. Everything he had done had been to protect his friends or out of his control. Yet, he still felt like it was all his fault. He stared at the floor unmoving.
Robin looked in on his hurt friends, they were all recovering fairly well and would be fine but Roy wasn't. He wasn't recovering well at all. He had taken the worst hits out of everyone. Robin sighed, Wally wouldn't forgive himself for this. He needed help, not to be locked away like a common criminal. Everything he did was justified. He didn't understand why he was still in a cell. He was dangerous. He was Wally. His best friend and brother. He was the laughing, joking, speedster. The one to clean out the fridge of the cave in seconds. He was the one to try and lighten the mood with jokes and keep a souvenir from all of their missions. He was everyone's friend. He wasn't a criminal. Robin looked down. He was Wally.
Miss Martian walked over to Robin, "Robin? Are you okay?" She asked him worriedly.
Robin looked over at her, "I'm not worried about myself."
Miss M nodded, "Yeah, I'm worried about Wally too. The Justice League has to know its not his fault." Robin sighed and nodded in agreement.
"How is Artemis?" He asked her. M'gann smiled sadly.
"Still asleep, she's hurt pretty bad and has a lot of broken bones but the doctors say she'll recover. It'll take time but she'll be okay..." She said.
Robin nodded, "Good. Zatanna? What about the others?"
M'gann nodded, "They are all recovering as well, the doctors are really only worried about..." She looked down.
Robin nodded, "Roy. Yeah I know. Thanks M'gann." M'gann smiled softly and looked at him once more.
"I could make cookies, you know if that would cheer you up..." She started but Robin shook his head.
"Thanks, but I'm alright." Robin knew cooking made M'gann feel better. "But you should make some cookies for the others, I'm sure everyone would appreciate it." He smiled softly at her. M'gann nodded and turned to leave.
"Yeah, I think I will. Maybe I can make extra and take them to Wally...he always loved my cookies..." She sighed and looked down as she went off to make some cookies.
Well? What did you guys think? Review if you liked it! Now times for reviews!
Lily the Vocaloid: I'm glad you like the chapter! Here is the new one and I don't think the Justice League is listening very well. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)
Ima Kara Tabi e: Here is the next chapter! The Justice league can be a little too harsh and serious when dealing with kids but they are kids with superpowers so extra caution may be advised. Thanks for the review!
