Chapter Twenty-Two.
* Lord Marshall's POV *
In the Necromonger faith, there are only several things I ask of my guards: unflinching loyalty, follow orders without question and never to challenge me, which is why when the newest Control Room member speaks up against me, something inside me snaps and insists he needs a good punch back into his place.
"Get my armada off the ground! Now!" I bellow furiously.
The newest male steps forward dressed smartly in armour and a helmet, "We still have numbers out there Lord Marshall." he informs me, "Sweep teams, re-con ships. They would be hard pressed to make it back in time." before the young Necromonger had a second to think, my half-dead form shifted into ghost mode pulling my soul away from my hollow body and glided over across the room to the man, holding up my elbow like a knife, I shifted back into solid form making nose breaking contact with the young man's face sending him flying backwards to the wall behind him.
The ship leaves the surface of Helion Prime and hovers around the statue in a circle with other Necromonger ships. I stand strong of a liquidized purple window that allowed me to see down to the planet and all the people who refused my offer and were now about to live there last few moments on their inhabited planet.
"Execute on my order." I say boldly. The Necromonger behind the deck to my right presses a golden button which activated a incredibly smaller scale model of our Obelisk to rise from the desk, the three faces part revealing a second button hidden within the structure. But as I go to give the order to kill every last non-converter on this planet, Commander Toal barges in carrying a body.
"This Lenser, along with a guard and a Purifier." Commander Toal speaks clearly before resting down the body onto the empty table. A heavy mixture of anger and dread fills me as I remove the chip from the back of the Lenser's skull and slipping it into a key before slotting the key into a oval screen in the centre of the desk.
"Show me his last sights." I tell the machine, it grumbles and groans like a rusty machine before displaying a figure, the image is purple background with an orange glowing guard. Due to our dead like state, Necromonger appear to be grey on the sight of a Lenser, not glowing with life. The image flutters from the Purifier, to the not yet converted Furyan female and back to the guard, both who are glowing. The orange male move quickly removing a blade and throwing it over the Lenser before punching the Necromonger guard and gouging out the Lenser's throat. The image finishes there with one last sight that sent chills running down my spine, the glowing male – Riddick – stepping over to help the Furyan hanging, ready for conversion.
"Commander Toal." I growl with no reason to give him instructions on what to do next.
The dark-skinned commander give me a nod, "They will not escape again." he growls before assembling a team of all Necromonger guards available and sending them out on search parties in groups of five. As the groups leave the Control Room, Commander Vaako appears from the corner of the room, his eyes slightly red rimmed from crying due to the lose of his bride but his eyes truly burned with the overwhelming passion for revenge on the female Furyan.
"Sir, if I may make a request." he says.
I stare at him coldly, "Given your courage to show your face to me so soon after your lies. Of course, make a request, doesn't mean I have to agree." I snap.
Commander Vaako's lips pursed slightly, "If we manage to find the boy who accompanied her here, we could lure her into the forum, giving you the perfect advantage as even if Riddick was not aware of her movement, he is certain to follow to protect her."
There are obvious flaws in his plan but he is so blinded by hatred that I am, to a certain degree, impressed with his overall plan. It was simple yet almost certain to work. I turn to face him fully, Vaako's body stiffened as he probably expected a punch, kick or a hit of some sort.
"If you feel you can meet with success, I allow you to do so, but only under the conditions that only you are to know about your movements." I tell him sternly. A small grin creeps across Vaako's face, he nods his head at me respectfully before turning and leaving.
Once I was certain he had left, I was alone in the Control Room this was a time, if any to show weakness. I re watch the Lenser's last sights over and over again until I can make sense of where or what they would want. Will they leave? Allowing them to leave would prove weakness, weakness is a result of fear, fear means I am unworthy of Lordship. You will reach the Underverse, very soon. Her stupid philosophise grinding away at the bone of my brain. Studying the image carefully of Riddick stepping over her to help.
What was this connection they have? Couldn't be love, what is love? Necromonger's do not breed as humans do, children are seen as useless with only time and energy consuming bodies which is burnt off by running and screaming. The Necromonger population is kept alive by the continuous conversion of humans over countless planets, so there is no need for them to get emotionally attached if children are the outcome. Of course couples may be married, Commander and Dame Vaako were the perfect Necromonger couple however I feel she may have had a more dominate position in their relationship then Vaako would care to reveal.
I study the way in which Riddick fights, burning with passion to save her before it is too late. I freeze the frame on Riddick's face, his unique florescent eyes shining through the slit in the stolen Necromonger helmet.
"Where are you?" I wonder as I am lost in thought.
You will reach the Underverse, very soon, may the Lord Marshall's before I, give me strength.
A/N: Review if you are enjoying it, I apologise for the shortness of this chapter. Also I need opinions on which Fan-Fiction you would like to read next, so far Avengers is winning over Hunger Games and Harry Potter but I would like more opinions. Any-ho, please review with if you're liking it or not.
