Chapter Twenty-Three.

* Riddick's POV *

I tell Elisha to keep her head low and her eyes lower so she looks like a prisoner. My large hand clamps tightly on her elbow as I usher her across the forum into the corridor on our left. Larissa and Hans were no longer in the forum so I don't bother stopping to search for them. Instead I drag Elisha into the first door along the ground floor corridor and violently pushed her against the door once it was closed and locked. My hands pin her wrists either side of her just above the height of her shoulders.

"What are you doing?" she asks struggling against my grip.

I pressed my body into hers restricting her movement, "What the hell do you think you were doing?" I bellow in her face. Her body flinches at my anger which was the entire point of my outburst but she mistakes my yelling for anger when I actually am yelling out of pain.

"Like I said before Riddick: I was trying to save the one person I thought I had left." she says firmly.

My lips pursed, "Why didn't you stay hidden!?"

She turns to look away from me, "Because I though I'd lost you." I am stunned silent by her response allowing her to pull free from my now not-so-tight grip so she can stand silently in front of me. Elisha stares down at my chest as she is probably nervous about if I am going to yell at her again but instead I shock us both my cupping her small face in my large hands, leading her face to mine and kissing her lightly.

"What was that for?" she asks pulling away from me.

I shrug with a small smile, "Missed you." I admitted, "Seeing you hung up in that conversion chamber, I thought I had lost you."

Elisha chuckles quietly, "Soppy git." she says playfully before shoving me backwards so she could move freely. The yells of Necromonger guards grip our attention as they are followed by the heavy footsteps of multiple groups.

"They know I have no converted." she mumbles to herself, turning the small key in the lock before opening the door just enough for her to be able to see out into the corridor. Naturally being taller I manage to stand behind her and peek through the slit in the door. Guard's rush down the corridor towards the forum, all armed with either anti-gravity gun, axes or blades. Lenser's creep along slowly behind them, their bodies hunched forward with their small, shrivelled up arms bent at the elbow and wrists. Their knees remain constantly bend awkwardly as they walk like toddlers, clicking and groaning as they scan their surroundings.

"There going to kill us?" Elisha mumbles to herself whilst pulling the door closed again.

I shrug, "Possible."

Elisha chuckles strangely but her voice is stained with nerves, "I have to find Hans." she says ready to open the door again. Like before, I grab her arm tightly and pull her back whilst shaking my head sternly. Elisha turns back to glance from her elbow to my face, her purple eyes were filled with disbelief.

"Please, Riddick, let me go." she speaks firmly.

I shake my head, "Elisha, please. Think about this logically for a change: you are going to use him as bait."

"Not if I get to him first." she snaps.

She struggles against my grip but my hand stays firmly clasped on her upper arm. "I forbid you to go after Hans." I snap ferociously.

Elisha chuckles, instead of nerves straining her voice, there is a string of smugness, "You don't control you." she spits staring straight into my eyes. My hand goes limp around her arm, her eyes soften but she doesn't say anything, my hand falls to my side as her arm re-situate itself at her side. Elisha's elfin sized hand grips the door handle, she turns it clockwise and pulls it open a jar before turning back to stare at me.

"I'm sorry," she mumbles, "But, aside from you, he is the only real family I have left."

Then she leaves closing the door behind her.

"Ah fuck." I hiss angrily. "That girl is going to get herself killed."

Pulling on my helmet, I exit the door not long after Elisha leaves but I cannot see her. Fucking hell that girl moves fast in a hurry, a voice says in my head as I adventure down the corridor into the forum which was crawling with guards and five or six Purifiers, I am not noticed as I enter into the Quasi-dead bay. Pulling off my armour, I have no aim staying here:

Kill the Lord Marshall.

A/N: Again, sorry for the shortness of this chapter, personal problems are making it difficult to write long chapters because it would take a little while. I have also decided to write a Hunger Games fan-fiction next as I have the basics of it planned out, I hope you guys, my wonderful readers, will forgive me for not writing an Avengers one, maybe I will write it after.

Please review what you think of this chapter, and once again I apologise for the shortness.
