I loved fooling around and playing tag with my family, but this time I tripped and fell. For awhile, all I could see was stars. Hugin loomed over me, "Are ya alright Main?"

I nodded, "I just tripped Hug, I'll live."

Ema landed right next to me, and I flinched when I realized what was coming. Next thing I knew I was feeling pain in my thigh again and found myself sitting on Ema's back. I groaned and said, "Ema! I was fine!"

"You are hurt and going to your sister."

Arget is the family doctor but not a mid-wife. (A/N:For those people who nothing about this kind of day and age, a mid-wife is a baby doctor starting the second you are pregnant) We landed and Arget came out of her little house on the cliff near Grandpa. She looked around and said, "Pleases tell me that earthquake was Ema."

Arget's human half is blind, but she is very independent, so I taught her how to switch to her elf half. I sighed and stated, "It was her and can you tell her that I'm fine!"

"So Miss Independence got hurt did she?" she said her eyes turning chocolate as she smirked. I just glared at her. I slid down and tried to stand, but for some strange reason I couldn't stand on my own, I just fell. "Ahhhhhhhh!"

I winced as Arget helped me up. "Not hurt at all huh?" she smirked.

She dragged me into the doctor office. She propped me up, she examined me and said, "Well, you completely broke your ankle, no walking on your feet for quite a long time, so that means either crutches or sitting for that long."

I sighed and asked Ema, "Well conscience, What do you think?"

She smiled and replied, "I think crutches won't hurt, but ride another creature as much as possible."

Time passed quickly, but one day Arya came over to our place, "Manin, would you go with me between the Varden and the elves next year? I really would appreciate more help and protection."

I smiled wider than the Az Ragini, and nodded, "That would be amazing! It would give me an excuse to no longer visit that imbecile of my father. Thanks Arya!"

I felt sorry for Vi, because she kept having to go to balls almost everyday that we spent at our father's palace. Murtaugh kept apologizing for his idiotic poem, but that didn't stop how I acted around him. I wouldn't give into my father's pressure no matter what. All I knew was that Mom ended up in a horrible situation because of this completely human emotion of love, and that I wouldn't fall into the same trap that she did, because I got this monster as a father. Finally out of rebellion, I wrote a letter in poem style to show my feelings about my father.

A Father is someone who sees you in your first outfit.

A dad is someone who loves you and comforts you no matter what.

An aquantice is someone who you know but hate.

A friend is someone you miss every second you are apart.

A house is a place you stay.

A home is where your heart is.

My dad is Brom.

My friends are too many to count.

My home is where my Mom is.

I am going to leave this here, so Father realizes how he lost two women that he obsessed over. Once I put the letter in plain sight I packed up my belongings and hobbled over to my bed.

Father became furious the next day, because one of the servants told him that the two of us were leaving him, and never returning. We barley made it past him before his guards came after us. We raced northward in the vain hopes that he would give up the chase, but the guards were told that whomever caught us would be made into a high ranking official. We managed to lose them around Dras-Leona, but I knew that they would guess which way we were going and catch up to us. So I changed our course and went to Carvahall instead. I only hoped that Garrow would protect us.
