After her first day of school Maddie was transferred to the first grade class. The school said when she got older they would move her up more. Tonight was the night they were going to tell the team about who Maddie's father was. Rossi had his suspicion but hadn't said anything. Hotch also had a few suspicious thoughts about Emily and Reid.
When the door bell rung Holly got up to answer it.
"Good to see you again Hotch. Emily's in the kitchen."
Hotch smiled at Holly then walked into the kitchen. Emily was cooking and didn't see him. Then she heard a crash from the hallway.
"Holly go check on Beth and make sure she doesn't break her neck."
Hotch decided to make his presence known.
"Hi Emily."
Emily jumped a little.
"Hi Hotch will you go make sure Beth doesn't break anything."
Hotch laughed at the sight in the hallway. Beth had tripped over a soccer ball and then somehow hit her head on the table. Holly was laughing at her sister who was still on the ground.
"It was your soccer ball!"
Beth tried to chase her sister instead managed to trip over the soccer ball again and land on her butt. The normally serious agent cracked a smile. He held his hand out.
"Come on your going to need to put some ice on your head."
Beth grabbed his hand and stood up. They walked into the kitchen and Emily saw the bruise already on Beth's head.
"Our sister is trying to kill me."
Beth said flopping down in a chair.
"What did she do this time?"
Beth sighed.
"I tripped over her soccer ball twice."
Emily was trying not to laugh.
"Can't be no worse than when she was five."
Hotch was getting ice for Beth's head.
"What happened when Holly was five?"
Beth bit her lip like her sister did.
"She broke my nose with a baseball bat."
Hotch eyes got big.
"Ouch"
Emily laughed.
"I was talking about the time Holly burnt Beth with the straight iron."
Beth glared at her sister.
"I was trying to forget that along with what you did when we were seventeen."
Hotch was about ready to laugh.
"What did you do?"
Emily bit her lip like Beth had done earlier.
"May or may not have wrecked her car."
Beth gave her sister another glare.
"Not to mention the fact I was the one who ended up with a concussion, broke leg, and a broke arm."
Hotch started laughing while Beth continued.
"And all she got was grounded for a month and a black eye."
Emily butted in.
"You're the one who punched with your good arm."
Hotch shook his head still laughing.
Soon everyone arrived and were seated at the table.
"What happened to your head Beth?"
JJ asked Beth who sitting across from her. Everyone was shocked when Hotch busted out laughing.
"I tripped over a soccer ball."
She made sure to send her younger sister a glare. Emily interrupted the conversation.
"Maddie has something to tell you all."
Reid looked at Maddie who was sitting next to them.
"I found out that Spencer is my daddy."
Holly and Beth already knew so they continued to eat.
Everyone looked shocked, JJ was the first to speak.
"Pay up Rossi. I told you they were dating."
Rossi handed JJ a twenty. Garcia then looked at Morgan.
"Your turn. Told you they slept together."
Morgan handed Garcia a fifty. Reid shook his head.
"You made bets on us?"
All four nodded. Emily looked at Hotch.
"You didn't?"
Hotch shook his head.
"Nope all my money is on Dave and who his special lady is."
Dave almost spit his wine out along with JJ.
"I have no clue what you're talking about."
Emily looked at JJ and Rossi.
"Everyone knows you and JJ are together."
The rest of dinner went okay until Beth drank way to much. Hotch offered to drive her home. Soon everyone else left except Reid.
"Well they were okay with it."
Emily said washing dishes.
"Ya, so have we figured out how this is going to work?"
"How whats going to work?"
"Us having a daughter."
"We'll talk about it later. Right now let's just let her get use to the idea."
