"Mommy when will he be here?"
Maddie asked Emily who was on the phone with JJ.
"One second JJ."
Emily said setting her phone down.
"It's 10:00 now. Reid is coming to get you at 11:00."
Maddie sighed and walked off to her room not happy having to wait another hour. Emily picked her phone back up.
"Sorry JJ I'm back now."
"Who needed you?"
JJ asked assuming it might have been Holly.
"Maddie"
JJ was a little shocked.
"It must have been important if she bothered you while your on the phone."
Emily sighed.
"Reid's taking her to the park at eleven."
JJ made a sound of disapproval.
"Em I think it's time you call him Spencer. I mean you do have a kid with him."
Emily got up to retrieve a water bottle.
"So we're not dating. I can call him Reid if I want."
Even though Emily couldn't see JJ shook her head. Emily heard her front door open, a crash, then a few not so nice words.
"Sorry JJ I think my sister's here. Hopefully she hasn't broken anything yet."
JJ laughed at Emily.
"Bye Em see you Monday."
Emily hung up then walked into the living room.
"You okay Beth?"
Beth looked at her sister.
"Yea, but I tripped over that dang ball again!"
Emily held her laugh inside.
"What do I owe this visit to?"
Emily watched Beth's eyes light up.
"I have a picnic date with this guy and his son."
Emily sat down a little shocked.
"Wow I can't remember the last time you went on a date."
"I know he's so sweet and he son's cute too."
Emily shook her head at the look on her sister's face.
"What's his name?"
That got Beth back to reality.
"Aaron Hotchner."
Emily looked at her sister.
"Okay, if your happy I guess that's fine."
Beth hugged her sister.
"I was so scared you were going to be mad. Also can I borrow your red dress?"
Emily laughed.
"Yes and the matching sandals."
At eleven after Beth left Reid showed up. When she answered the door Emily decided to try JJ's advice.
"Hi Spencer Maddie should be here in three seconds."
Two seconds later Maddie ran up to them.
"I'm ready to go."
Emily laughed as Reid picked up a hyper three-year old.
"Have fun."
Reid watched Maddie run around the park climbing up the slide. Then she ran to the swings and sat down beside a boy.
"Come push me daddy!"
Reid walked over and that's when he recognized the boy.
"Hi Jack."
That's when Hotch looked up from pushing Jack.
"Hi Reid good to see you."
Maddie started kicking the dirt.
"Daddy please push me."
Reid glanced at Hotch then stepped behind Maddie. Reid caught another glance at Hotch and Jack this time only joined by Beth this time.
Maddie ran to the slide next sliding down several times before she grabbed Reid's hand.
"Can we go for a walk?"
Reid nodded.
"Sure"
They were looking at the pond when Maddie asked her question.
"Next Monday is career day at school and I was wondering if you could come?"
Reid picked Maddie up.
"If we don't have a case you know I will be. Know if I am out if town we can ask Garcia to go."
Reid tickled Maddie causing her to squeal.
"Stop daddy that tickles."
Sadly that Monday the team caught a case and were still gone the next Monday. Hotch had surprisingly left Jack with Beth and Holly was also staying with Beth. To help Beth out a little Garcia took care of Maddie along with Henry. That Monday Garcia sat beside as each family member talked about their job. Finally the teacher got to Maddie.
"Maddie can you tell me who your guest is?"
Maddie walked to the front of the class room with Garcia.
"This is my aunt Penny. She works as a technical analyst for the BAU."
Garcia waved at the group of kids.
"I work with the computers and look into backgrounds. I also look up anything the team ask me to. Dose anyone have any questions?"
A boy in the front row raised his hand.
"What dose BAU stand for?"
Maddie answered before Garcia.
"Behavior Analysis Unit."
Maddie didn't her the door open or the door close.
"Once again your right Maddie."
Maddie spun around and tackled the person.
"Daddy!"
Emily was standing behind Reid.
"Do I get a hug?"
Maddie let go of Reid long enough to hug Emily. After more hugs and kisses Reid and Emily talked about their job. After that Reid and Emily took Maddie out for lunch since they hadn't seen her in a week. Hotch had also surprised Jack with help from Beth and with Rossi's help JJ did the same with Henry. Since everyone was with their kids Derek took Garcia and Holly to dinner that night. The rest of the week was spent case free and was spent resting. Or in Emily's case running after two kids and Reid.
