Morning slowly started to rise and sunlight cut through the open slits in the curtains covering the windows. I moaned and slowly brought myself up out of my bed. I got up and look around the room and rubbed my forehead with my hand, then I brought my hand down and looked at it, I had almost forgotten where we were. It all just felt like a dream that I had, though, now that I think of it, I can't really remember what I was dreaming about last night. It's all just a blur, but I think it was about my mother, when I was young... But I don't have time to remember it now; there are more pressing matters at hand. I stretched put my arms and let out a big yawn the. Brought my hand to my face and rubbed my eyes. I pulled the sheets off my and climbed out of the bed. I walked over and stopped to look at myself in the mirror by the wardrobe. It was a full body mirror and I could see my whole self, the figure I was used to all those years ago.
I slept without a shirt on, so I could see all the scars and wounds across my chest. There was that one scar across my neck from a hot burner. There were several scars over my chest which were from bullet wounds, and I had more of those still in places other than my chest. If I took all the metal from the bullets I've been shot with then I could easily melt them down and make a decent blade with them. Then I saw the scar around my left arm when I got my arm caught in barbed wire once. All of these scars are war scars, and just looking at them brings back the memories of how they were created.
"Hey crimson..." Said twilight as she knocked on my door. "Are you up?"
"Uh... Yeah... I'm up." I said walking over to the door and grabbing the knob. I twisted the knob and opened the door to see twilight in comfortable looking pajamas. I don't know if she figured out they were PJ's or if they were just comfortable to her. "Oh, looks like you found the pajamas." I said smiling.
"Yeah, well I just figured by the way they felt that they must be pajamas, plus these were the most comfortable thing I could find." She said. "And hey... How come you don't have to wear a shirt but I do?" She asked.
"Well because I'm a guy and I don't have... Well...those." I said gesturing to twilights boobs.
"Yeah, but you've got those..." She said gesturing to my nipples. "And so do I... So I don't get it."
"Yeah... But mine don't stick seven inches out of my chest like yours do... Just deal with it, I know it's different from the world you're used to but it's the way things work around here, no matter how much you question it, it isn't going to change." I said. " Besides, ponies wear clothes too."
"Yeah, but not all damn day... I get itchy in them." She said.
"Well... You'll get used to it, besides clothes aren't just meant to be formal in this world, they're also comfortable." I said. "C'mon... Why don't we wake up Derek, and go out to eat. We can find a nice diner or something, get some pancakes... How's that sound?"
"Pretty good actually." Said twilight.
"Alright, you go put on some actual clothes... I'll wake up Derek." I said.
"Oh, he's already up; he went downstairs to check the news." Said twilight.
"Oh, well perfect then, let's get dressed and head down to meet him." I said.
"Sure thing." Said twilight as she turned around and left to go into her own room. I closed the door to mine and walked over to the dresser with the TV on it. I opened up all the draws to see where everything is then I picked out my clothes. I put on socks and underwear, then a pair of jeans with a belt, and then I picked out a shirt. I found an old ACDC shirt and when I looked at it I smiled. It was a picture of the band at a live performance and next to the band name it said "let there be rock". Even though these bands were long gone, it's good to know that they persisted and are still popular today. I smiled and put the shirt on and looked at myself in the mirror, I smiled and couldn't help but make faces at myself. I was looking pretty good. I opened my door and walked out of my room. As I left my room twilights door opened up behind me and she walked out.
"Did you get dressed?" I asked looking back to see that she was in fact dressed this time.
"Yeah, but am I wearing these right?" Twilight asked looking over herself. She was wearing a small shirt which barely covered up her breasts, and a blue skirt... That was pretty much it.
"Uh... Looks, good... I suppose." I said.
"Good, it feels a bit weird... But I'm not itchy at least." She said. I just smiled and rolled my eyes and walked downstairs to see that Derek was watching the news wearing a grey shirt with a plaid over shirt and jeans.
"Morning..." He said as he noticed us coming down.
"Morning..." I replied. "Anything interesting happen?"
"No... Not really, just the usual crap." He said.
"What's the weather like?" I asked.
"Sunny and hot all day today." He said smiling.
"That's good... Hey. We're gonna try and find a place for breakfast... Wanna come?" I asked.
"Yeah... Sounds good. I actually know of a great place to eat. It's close by too." He said. He looked back at us and saw twilight and gave her a confused stare.
"Uh twilight... That shirt of yours... It's rather... Revealing." He said.
"Were there any bigger ones?" I asked her as I was grabbing a glass and pouring water into it from the sink.
"They were all the same size." She said.
"Hmm... I know that you and my sister were the same size." He said.
"Yeah, but I think twilight is a bit bigger than you sister... If you know what I mean."
"Are you talking about these again?" Asked twilight grabbing her breasts.
"Yes..." I said giving out a defeated sigh. "And you can't just grab them like that..."
"But they're soft and squishy... I can't help it." She said.
"I know they are... Or, at least I'm sure they are." I said correcting myself from saying something stupid. "But you can't just grab them like that, it's improper; you can do it at home I suppose... But not out in public please.
"Alright..." She said.
"Oh, by the way, before we head out I need to check the attic for some stuff." Said Derek.
"What kinda stuff?" I asked.
"Not anything specific. I just wanna check the attic and see what I can find, but it'll be dark up there." He said. "Twilight can you check that cupboard by your feet and see if there's a flashlight in it?" Asked Derek.
"A what?" She asked.
"It's a big metal stick with a button on it." I said.
"I think I can..." Said twilight. She turned around facing away from me and bent down to check the cupboard. I checked to see if I could see it myself, but the only thing I saw was twilight, and that's when I realized how short that skirt of hers was, and also the fact that she...well...wasn't wearing any underwear. I probably should have known, but I was surprised nonetheless and I fell back and let out a grunt of pain. Startled twilight quickly turned around and checked to see how I was. She rushed over to my and knelt down by my side.
"Crimson... Are you alright." She asked.
"Jesus twilight... Put on some panties..." I said holding my nose because it was bleeding.
"Well, eh, I don't even know what panties are." She said. "It's not my fault that I can't adapt so quickly. This world has so much more stuff than Equestria and it's all just so confusing."
"Fine fine fine... Here... Let's go upstairs and I'll show you." I said getting up but twilight still clung to me worrying that I hurt myself.
"Alright... Are you fine?" She asked.
"C'mon... I've been through worse." I said. "Don't worry about it." I said leading her upstairs. She followed me up and we both walked into her room together. I looked around and spotted the dresser and walked over to it. I opened up all the drawers until I found where the underwear was. I pulled out the first pair of panties I saw and handed them to twilight.
"These... Put these on." I said.
"Okay... How do I do that?" She asked.
"Slide them on like pants; make sure the tag is in the back." I said.
"But... There is no tag." She said looking over the panties.
"Well... Then I suppose you just put them on anyway you want... Doesn't matter, just do it." I said. She nodded and started to slide them on. I quickly turned away so that I didn't see anything. But as soon as I turned around I noticed that her closet doors were just sliding mirrors, so I still saw her through the mirror. I closed my eyes and waited for her to be done.
"Alright... They're on." She said. I turned around and saw her still wearing the skirt. I'll just assume that she put them in correctly. I let out a sigh of relief then she started rifling through the drawer of underwear. "There's so many pair in here... And they're all so bright and colorful..." She said. "Hey... What's this?" She asked pulling out a bra.
"That's a bra..." I said. "We aren't even going to bother with that right now. Too much for one morning... Besides... It's not like you need it." I said gesturing to the T-shirt she was wearing which pressed against her boobs hard enough to be a bra on its own.
"So this thing... Goes over these things..." Said twilight.
"Yeah... It does." I said. "I'm not even sure if that one will even fit you, it's too small."
"I kinda want to try it on..." Said twilight.
"Oh god..." I whispered to myself. "Look... Why don't we just...go out and get some breakfast... Then we can all go and get some food, and come back and relax for a while... How about that?" I asked.
"Well..." Said twilight as her stomach then rumbled loud enough for me to hear. "Breakfast sounds good." She said laughing. I just rolled my eyes and smiled. It wasn't long before we went out to get breakfast. Derek found the keys to the car in the garage and I drove it down to the bank where we went to get some money. All the money the general gave us was put into a private account in the national bank, so it can be accessed from any national bank, and luckily there was one in town. The general gave us half a million dollars to start our new life, I don't think he took into consideration that we already had a house and car which we don't pay taxes on... So that's a plus. When we got to the bank I took out a couple hundred dollars and drove off. Before we went to the diner I had to put gas in the car, which was expensive, but the car had good mileage luckily. And then after we went off to the diner.
Derek gave me directions to the plane and it wasn't long before we arrived. It was actually closer to the house than I thought. The name of the place was "Gino' Place." It wasn't a very creative name, but I guess the lack of creativity is creative in its own way... Strange how these things work. The place is apparently very popular said Derek, and just getting there was proof enough. We managed to park in what I believed to be the very last available spot. We got out of the car and made our way into the diner. It was a very warm and sunny morning, probably getting close to summer now if it wasn't already. We walked in and were greeted by a chipper young lady with a big smile across her face and wearing a yellow and blue uniform and skirt. She greeted us and sat us down at the bar seats. We all sat together and kept twilight in the middle so she doesn't have to sit next to either one of the unfamiliar men next to us. Not that it helps really; practically every man in here was now undressing her with their eyes.
"Uh... Crim... I mean, Alex... Why is everypony staring at me?" She asked whispering to me.
"It's because you're pretty." I said. "And remember... It's everyBODY, not pony."
"Oh... Sorry." She said covering her mouth. The waitress walked over and gave us menus and asked us for coffee to which we all accepted. Derek had his black. I had mine with cream and sugar, twilight had hers with cream and a lot more sugar then me.
"Let's see what's on the menu." Said Derek.
"You know what sounds like heaven right now?" I asked Derek knowing he full enough knew the answer.
"Hmm... It wouldn't be blueberry pancakes with bacon... Would it?" He asked smiling.
"Damn right it is." I said smiling.
"I think I'll have that too..." Said twilight.
"Alrighty then... It'll be out in a minute." Said the waitress zooming off to the kitchen.
"Are you going to eat your bacon?" Asked Derek to twilight.
"Uh... What is bacon?" She asked.
"It's pork strips that are fried in a pan." I said.
"Pork?"
"It's pig..." I said.
"Oh that's horrible." She said.
"You know twi- I mean... Crap what was her name?" Asked Derek leaning over and whispering to me.
"Tara... Tara Wesson... My sister?" I asked as if it was true.
"Yeah... Sorry." He said. "Tara, you'd make for a fine vegan."
"Well...I already ordered it... So one of you can have the bacon." Said twilight.
"Dibs..." Said Derek.
"You can't just call dibs on her food." I said.
"What? She said she wasn't going to eat it, and offered it to one of us, so dibs..." He said.
"You two can share it." Said twilight. Out of nowhere I just started laughing at something. Twilight and Derek just looked at me and were confused.
"What's so funny?" Asked Derek.
"Nothing... Is just. I've forgotten how immature we used to be." I said. "We haven't been like this in over five years, so I forgot." I said to which Derek started to laugh as well.
"You know...you're right." He said. We both smiled and laughed. We waited for our food to come and it was here soon enough. The waitress placed down three plates all of which were large stacks if pancakes... Literally surrounded in bacon. There must have been 20 or 30 pancakes on each plate with like, an entire pigs worth of bacon around it. Butter on top and maple syrup in a large pouring mug next to us. And of a nice tall cup of orange juice to top it all off with.
"Whoa... I only ordered one serving of pancakes... Not ten of them." I said looking at the food to which the waitress and Derek laughed.
"So you must be new to town." Said the waitress.
"Is it that obvious?" I asked.
"Everybody in town knows that this place is famous because of its monster servings." Said Derek.
"Jeeze... With this much food I don't think we even need to go out and get groceries." Said twilight. The waitress and I both laughed along with Derek.
"Eat up you two... There's plenty more if your still hungry." Said the waitress.
"Yeah... I'll let you know two weeks later when I've run out of food." I said to which she smiled and walked away to another customer. There was nothing left to do now but dig in and start eating. We ate away at out pancakes and twilight and Derek only made small dents in their heaping towers of pancakes, even then, those small dents must equate up to at least three or four whole pancakes. I however, having the stomach of a god, and an immortal metabolism... Ate everything. No joke... Everything. The whole thirty pancakes and the ring of bacon as well as my juice. It had been so long since I've eaten as much. Being home relaxed me and I just couldn't stop putting it all away.
"Holly damn son... Did you just eat all that food on your own?" Asked the waitress walking over with a look of astonishment on her face, the others just looked over to see my empty plate.
"I... Uh... Suppose I did... I didn't know I was so hungry." I said.
"You ate all that food, and you still look as nice and fit as you do... Damn, you've gotta tell me your secrets." Said the waitress. "HEY GINO!" Shouted the waitress back into the kitchen.
"What is it?" Asked a gruff voice from behind the opening in the wall to the kitchen.
"You ain't gonna believe this, but some kid out here just ate a whole breakfast special." Said the waitress.
"Without puking it all out right after?" Asked the gruff voice.
"Yeah, and on his own..." She said.
"How many seats is he taken up?" Asked the voice laughing right after.
"That's the thing Gino... Kid ain't fat, in fact, he's actually kinda cute." She said in a softer voice glancing at me to which I could only blush.
"You gotta be kidding me... One sec, hey, Mario... Take over for a sec." Said the voice. Soon footsteps were heard and the kitchen door opened up to reveal a large rotund man in a cooking apron and chef's hat. He had a spatula in his hand and his apron was stained all over. He was a Caucasian male with a scruffy but short beard and thin black hair under the hat. He looked like the fat and happy kind, which is good I suppose. "Let me see..." He said walking over. He stepped on over to us and the waitress gestured at me.
"This is him." She said.
"Huh..." Said the chef putting the spatula between his thigh and the ties of the apron like he was sheathing a sword. "Well, you was right... He ain't fat, that's for sure... Gotta nice face, tough lookin guy... How ya do... Names Gino." He said holding his hand out. I grabbed his hand and shook. His hand was greasy and slippery but I held on. When he let go I quickly whipped my hand with a few napkins to white the grease off.
"Nice to meet you." I said.
"You new in town?" He asked. "Ya must be... You don't smell like you're from Roxbury." He said,
"What does Roxbury even smell like?" Asked twilight.
"Tree bark and horse manure." Said Gino laughing quickly after.
"As much as I don't want to admit it... He's got a point." Said Derek. "Nothing but horse fields and lumber mills out here."
"Where you from?" Asked Gino.
"Uh, Springfield." I answered.
"Which one?" Asked the waitress.
"Every states got a Springfield... Which one you from?" Asked Gino.
"Ohio... Springfield Ohio..." I said.
"Huh...Ohio, you a country boy then... Irish probably."
"Yeah... Sorta..." I said.
"Hmm... Well, welcome to town... You know what. I ain't ever seen anybody eat an entire breakfast special... And I probably will never see it again, so how's about this ones on the house, for you and your friends here." He said patting me on the shoulder and laughing.
"Thanks, I appreciate that." I said.
"Not a problem... Come back any time you want..." He said walking back I to the kitchen.
"Are the rest of y'all going to finish... Or are you done?" Asked the waitress to Derek and twilight.
"I think we're done..." Said Derek.
"Yeah..." Agreed twilight. We got all of the food packed up in take away boxes and made our way out of the diner. We got in the car and drove off. I dropped Derek back off at home and twilight took the passenger seat next to me. The supermarket was a little ways away but I didn't mind. As I drove down the road twilight was having fun playing with the radio and listening to all the kinds of music in this world. She was having fun, so I really didn't want to ruin her fun. But I made sure that she didn't press any buttons that she shouldn't be touching. It wasn't much longer until we arrived at the super store... Stop and shop. We parked the car and got out and started making our way into the store, on our way towards it twilight just looked up in awe.
"Wow...this is a big store." Said twilight.
"Well, yeah, there are a lot more people that go here, and there are a lot more kinds of food that are in this world." I said.
"Wow...like what kinds of foods?" She asked.
"Well... Lots of kinds." I said. "You'll see when we get in there. We'll get some basic things and then you can pick out some stuff too... We've got plenty of money to spend on groceries. We made our way to the entrance of the store and the sliding doors opened up to let us in. Naturally, twilight was very surprised to see this and had questions to ask as we walked past them.
"Whoa, and these doors just open without magic?" She asked.
"Yep... Nothing works on magic in this world." I said. "Everything here is the work of science. It all works on the basic principles of modern science, logic, and reasoning. We made our way into the store and grabbed a shopping cart. We went around and grabbed some fresh meats and fish as well as some spices and other foods. Basic foods like drinks and meat. Then we got some fruits and vegetables along with perishable foods and pasta's. We bought red and white pasta sauces and other seasonings and then we went out and bought snack foods like cookies and chips. Then we bought breakfast foods like cereal and such and it wasn't long before our cart was starting to get full. Twilight was having a fun time looking through all the colorful boxes of food and seeing what kind of things us humans have made.
"Wow... We bought a lot of food." Said twilight.
"Well... There are meats and such for me and Derek, and plenty of other kinds of food for you. And other things that we can all eat. Just be glad that I'm a good cook."
"I can only cook simple things... Like macaroni, or pancakes." She said. "I don't like cooking foods that can burn easily..."
"It's all in the preparation and performance." I said. Twilight agreed and we just moved on. We made our way over to the deli and got some pre sliced cheeses and meats like turkey and ham. We made our way around the store a bit more and picked out a couple other things. Being in the store took longer than I thought and soon what could have been a normal trip to the super market turned into a multi hour-long shopping spree. We probably won't end up eating all this food anyway, but it's not like we can't afford to blow off a few bucks. It wasn't too much longer that we made our way to the checkout bar. We scanned all our food, and I bought twilight a candy bar. We paid the total, bagged our food, and returned to the car. We put all the bagged groceries into the back seats. I returned the shopping cart and got in the car with twilight.
"Jeeze... We bought a lot of food... Didn't we." Said twilight looking back at the pile of bagged food in the back.
"I suppose so..." I said. "Next we gotta put it all away once we get home, then we can relax for the rest of the day."
"Sounds good." Said twilight. "You know... I really like this world." She said. "It's a lot like our world, the lack of magic is hard to get used to, but all of these machines and the technology is amazing."
"I figured you would like it." I said. "But you know, you can still use magic... Just, not when there are people other than me or Derek around." I said.
"I know... But still." She said as I started up the car and began driving out of the large parking lot. "I wish that we could come back and visit this world, and the other one..."
"It would be nice I suppose... But there are complications." I said.
"I really do like this world, and this body too... It's so much more different than my own, the fingers... And legs, and feet... And, uh... Feet...fingers?" She said.
"You mean toes..." I said.
"Yeah...toes... And these things..." She said grabbing her breasts again.
"Don't do that." I said.
"Sorry." She said quickly putting her hands down by her side. "This body is a lot more flexible than a pony's body..."
"Well, our bodies are a more superior design." I said. "I don't mean to be prejudice... Because in your defense some ponies do have wings and horns to use magic with, which humans don't have." I said. "But we've got more joints, opposable thumbs, and slimmer bodies." I said.
"Well... I suppose so..." Said twilight. "It still feels strange though, being in this body... But, it's oddly nice."
"I enjoy being back in this body, I feel like I can move around more freely now." I said. Just then we had arrived at a red light and stopped in the road behind a few cars ahead. To either side of us were chains of stores and shops. This town might be kinda small, but there aren't any small towns anymore. It's more like a miniature city. It's got plenty of places to be, and tons of things to see.
"...hey...what's that?" Asked twilight pointing out the window to one of the shops.
"Huh?" I asked looking out that way, but there were lots of stores and shops I couldn't tell what she was looking at. "What is it?" I asked.
"I don't know... The building with the big sign and the strange green creature thing." She said. I knew what she was looking at now. It was a local arcade with a huge glowing sign and a big alien in front of it.
"Oh, that's an arcade..." I said.
"What's that?" She asked.
"It's a place full of games and stuff that people go to to have fun." I said.
"Oh, that sounds like fun, can we go... I wanna see what it's like." She said eagerly.
"Uh... Sure." I said as the light ahead of us turned green. I drove up and took a right and pulled into the parking lot. We both got out of the car and walked over to the arcade. Twilight pranced over with anticipation and I had to move quickly to keep up with her. We walked up but twilight almost walking into the door thinking it would open on its own, which it didn't. I just laughed a little and pushed the doors open, and we walked in. When we entered the lights dimmed and everything was a bit darker, but there were tons of machines with glowing lights and plenty of people around having fun. There weren't just kids here running around and having fun, but teenagers too as well as some adult couples just having some fun. It's good to know that me and twilight aren't going to stick out too much.
"Oh wow... This place is so cool... What are all these big, bright machines?" She asked walking over to one of the claw games.
"These are the games." I said. "Wait here a second." I walked over to one of the token machines and put in ten bucks and a pile of tokens spilled out. I grabbed one of the big cups on top of the machine and put all the tokens in it. I then walked back over and showed twilight the tokens. "See, you need these to play the games, these are tokens, the game should tell you how much. Like this one only requires two to play." I said pointing to the claw machine. "But others might cost more or less... You just exchange money for these, you get four tokens for every dollar."
"Oh wow... Let's play a game together Alex..." She said excitedly.
"Sure... Let's try this one." I said walking over to the claw game she was previously interested in.
"So... How do you play this game?" She asked.
"You put in the tokens..." I said doing so. "And you use this stick right here to control the claw..." I said moving the stick around to move the claw. "And the point of the game is to grab one of these prizes down below and bring it over to the drop box here..." I said showing her. "When you think you've got a good spot to grab something, just push this button and the claw will move down and grab it, or try to at least, but you only get one try." I said pushing the button as the claw descended. It plunged into the pile of stuffed animals which were the prizes, and closed its grip. It rose up and ended up pulling a stuffed rabbit by the leg. The claw automatically made its way back to the box and dropped the rabbit in. I reached in and pulled out the rabbit. "See..." I said holding it up to twilight.
"Ooh, me next." Said twilight. I just smiled and handed her two tokens. It was adorable watching her, she was like a little kid in a candy store, but then again, she is the kind of person...pony, I don't know. But she's the type to get excited about these kinds of things, even if they are just games, she loves technology and science in general. Plus she loves to see new things and have fun. I watched her try her hand at the game, and she wasn't all too bad. She was able to move the claw and she had a really concentrated face on her. She pushed the button and the claw descended and grabbed something. It was a little stuffed lion which the claw had just barely grabbed by the leg. If I know this game, it'll probably drop on her. The claw started moving back, but it's sudden jerk to move back was too much and the lion fell just as I thought. The claw returned and the game was over. I saw twilights look suddenly shift from excited to disappoint. "Aww... I almost had it." She said.
"Don't worry twi..." I said. "Here..." I said handing her the stuffed rabbit. She smiled and took it.
"Thanks crimson... Er, I mean Alex..." She said smiling. "That's very kind of you."
"No problem... So what do you want to try next?" I asked with a smile. We spent some time in the arcade playing games and having fun. I showed her how to play one of those fighting games and we tried that, and I beat her. We played again but that time she was more used to it. It only took her one pass over the moves list to memorize the whole thing and she completely destroyed me... I mean, really... Without any mercy whatsoever... Utterly, destroyed.
"Hey I won!" He said. "That was easy..."
"I never really thought you'd ever beat me in a fight." I said.
"That was fun... Let's play again." She said smiling. So we did, but this time we decided to choose different characters. We quickly glanced over our moves lists, but it still didn't make a difference, she had completely destroyed me yet again. Apparently the game was popular too so there was a line of people behind us that now wanted to play twilight. She was a bit nervous, but I coerced her into playing and she did, against everybody in the line... And won... Every time. It was kinda funny watching other people, who have played this game plenty of times before, loose and get a bit angry. It was even funnier when people asked her how long she has been playing this game, to which she replied "actually this is my first time... And it's so much fun!". That's when people really lost it... And it was damn funny. After all the people had cleared out I walked back over to her and smiled.
"You're surprisingly good at this." I said.
"It's not hard... I've got a good memory." She said. "So I can memorize the button combinations quickly and execute them with good timing."
"Most people who start off with a game like this just choose a random character, mash the buttons, and hope for the best." I said.
"There's no strategy in that though." She said. "C'mon, let's play again." She said.
"Uhm... I think it's time to give this game a rest... Let's check out the others." I said.
"Alright..." She said and we walked away from that game only to go to another one. The next game we went to was, of course... Ski ball. After I explained that to her, and we started playing I found out that she was pretty damn good at that game too. We went around the arcade and had fun for a while before we were out of tokens and had to go back. Twilight didn't mind though, but she asked if we could go back again, so I told her we would. We left the arcade and made our way outside to the car. At this point it was starting to get a bit dark outside and once we got into the car the clock on the radio said that it was almost 6. Once we got in the car and buckled up I could hear twilights stomach rumble.
"Hungry...?" I asked smiling.
"Uh... A little."
"Let's go home and put the groceries away and then we can go out to eat." I said. So that's what we did. We went back home and arrived to see Derek just watching TV. We brought in all the food and put it away, but we double times it because we had left it in the car while we were in the arcade... Which wasn't the best. Luckily for us none of it had gone bad... So we lucked out that time. Once all the food was away I offered Derek to come and eat out with us and he agreed. He said that we should go to a bar and get some drinks and food, which sounded kinda fun. So we all headed out to the town after locking the house. We drove around until we found a decent looking bar and drove up to it. It was an old Irish bar named "the leaky flagon." Which was an interesting name for a bar. We pulled up and walked into the bar.
Once we got in we took our bar seats up front sitting next to each other, twilight in the middle of us just like at the diner this morning. The whole place reeked of booze and was a the lively bar. People sitting at tables were having fun and telling jokes. And there were games going on at the two pool tables and at the dart boards. We settled down and a female bartender strolled over, wiping down as glass and set it down to take our orders. She was a rather thin and pretty looking girl, she definitely didn't look like she could be working the bar scene, but then again, I don't really care. She handed us menus and we went through them.
"So what's it gonna be?" Asked the waitress.
"Uh... I'll have a salad." Said twilight.
"Anything to drink sweetie?"
"Uhm... I don't really know... I haven't really tried any of these drinks before." She said.
"How's about we start you off with something sweet... How's a margarita sound?" She asked.
"Uhm... Sure?" Twilight said not really sure what that was.
"Great... How's about you son?" She asked pointing to Derek.
"Uhm... I'll have a steak, medium rare... And a miller light." He said.
"Alright... And what about you pretty boy." She said pointing to me.
" I'll have, buffalo wings... And a pint of the daily brew." I said. I don't really know what it is but I can't really decide, so I'll leave it up to chance.
"Daily brews pretty strong today... Hope you ain't planning on driving home..." She said. "Wouldn't wanna wreck that face of yours." She wrote down the orders on her notepad and waltzed off to the kitchen and came back to tend to the others.
"Hey Alex... What's a margarita?" Asked twilight.
"It's like a really fruity drink... Like a smoothie... Except with alcohol in it. It isn't that strong, but it still packs a bit of a kick." I said.
"Sounds kinda good." Said twilight. We sat there and waited for our orders while we looked up at the big screen and watched the football game that was going on. It's been five years so I don't really care about football or sports anymore, not like I really ever had time to watch those kinds of things anyway... But still. It wasn't much longer before our food and drinks came and we started to dig in. Twilight enjoyed her margarita a lot so she ended up getting another. I tried the brew and it was a sweet but strangely spicy brew which was very, very strong... It's doesn't matter for me though, my liver works better than most since I'm a deity, so I won't get drunk easily.
We sat there and enjoyed our food and drinks and ended up finishing our food, but stayed to drink a little bit more. Twilight stopped after her third drink because she was starting to feel dizzy, she always was one who wouldn't handle her alcohol as well as others. Derek had a bunch if light bears and was getting a bit dizzy too, I was on my third pint and I still felt fine. Not long after Derek said that he was going to the bathroom and he got up and left. The bar had cleared out a little now, but it was still busy. The seats next to us were empty and the bar was a bit empty with only two others than us sitting there far on the other end. The waitress walked over and saw that I was just finishing my third pint of the daily brew and she grabbed the empty cup once I set it down.
"Damn son, you sure know how to put away your alcohol, and you can handle it too... I didn't mix up the order did I?" She asked.
"No... That stuffs pretty strong... Does a good job of living up to Irish expectations." I said making her giggle a little.
"Well, your friends don't seem to be able to take it as well." She said looking over to twilight. "What's wrong sweet cheeks... You only had three margaritas, that ain't that bad..." She said. " Point tell me your already feeling dizzy."
"I am..." Said twilight.
"Poor girl..." Said the bartender. Just then Derek came back from the bathroom but didn't sit back down with us, he just walked over and stood by his seat. "How's about you... You feeling alright?" Asked the bartender.
"Yeah... I suppose." He said. "It's really stuffy in here though. I'm gonna head outside and get some fresh air... I'll be gone for a bit... I'll wait for you guys to finish then we can head back home." He said.
"Yeah, don't worry we'll be out soon." I said. Derek walked out of the bar and as he did a group of guys walked in past him. They walked over to the bar and took the remaining seats, even Derek's. They ordered drinks and sat there and drank while we finished up. As we sat there I had a shiver run down my spine, which meant there was going to be trouble... And I knew where it was going to come from. I looked over to see the man sitting next t twilight peering at her and staring right at her breasts, it wasn't long before he spoke up to her.
"Hey there sweet thing... Let me buy you a drink." He said.
"No thanks... I've had enough to drink." She said.
"C'mon, don't play that way..." He said. "What's a fine ass looking lady such as yourself doing alone in a bar?"
"I-I'm not alone." She said. She was kinda out of it, so she couldn't really tell that this guy was obviously trouble.
"She's me." I said standing up and putting my hand on her shoulder. "So back off..." I said.
"Oh yeah, and what the hell are you to her?" Asked the guy also standing up. "She your wife or something?"
"She's my sister." I said. "And I don't appreciate thugs trying to hit in my sister..."
"Thugs huh..." The guy said breathing his fist into his palm as some of his buddies got up too.
"Whoa woah woah guys..." Said the bartender. It's good to know that she's gonna try and keep some kind of peace in this place. "If y'all are gonna fight, you're gonna so it fair...one on one."... God damnit.
"Sounds fine to me... Let's go buddy... I'll show you to call me a thug and ruin my drinking." He said. He threw a punch right for my face, and my fighting instincts kicked in and I grabbed his fist with my left hand before it hit me. I shifted my stance and pulled him into a strong uppercut to the stomach which he wasn't expecting. He stomach was soft, meaning he didn't have the time to tighten it and he felt the full on brunt of that blow. I saw his eyes shrink and as I let him go he dropped and then threw up all over the ground.
"Holly hot hell son..." Said the bartender
"You son of a bitch..." Said some guy behind me, one of his buddies. He ran towards me and got ready to hit me. I quickly moved to the side and spun to face him. I swung my arm out and clothes lined the man. My arm connected with his neck and he dropped to the ground. He hit the ground and gasped for air before getting right back up and putting his fists up. I did the same and he went to punch me again. I stopped his fist with a block and jabbed my fist at him. I hit him in the face once, twice, repeatedly and every hit his head bobbed back and came forward right back into my fist. I finished him with a jawbreaker, which was a vicious uppercut to the side of the jaw. I hit him and he dropped, his jaw was misshapen now, showing that I had unhinged it. He was out cold now... Knock out.
"Anybody else?" I asked looking around at the people. I now had the attention of everybody in the bar. One of the guys at the bar took his bottle of bear and smashed the end of it over the counter creating a weapon. He slowly walk up to me holding it. He seemed somewhat scared thought. "Really?" I asked. I brought my leg up and kicked the bottle he was holding into him and e went flying into the counter with glass stuck in his stomach now. He realized what happened and started freaking out because of all the pieces of glass stuck in his thigh and stomach. He was bleeding, but he would be fine.
"Alex... Are you okay?" Asked twilight walking over to me.
"I think we're done here..." I said. "Let's go sis..." I said. I grabbed her arm and started pulling her out of the bar and we went to the car. We grabbed Derek and I got behind the wheel and we left. On the way back home I had to explain to Derek what had happened. The rest of the car ride was silent, until we got back home. Once we got home Derek and twilight decided that they wanted to go to bed and they headed upstairs. I just sat down on the couch and flicked on the TV and just sat there. I suppose it isn't that bad that I got in a bar fight, it's kinda common to be fair... But I can still feel the adrenaline of the fight surging through me still. I was a bit on edge now and I couldn't get to sleep, so I'm just going to waste my time down here watching TV.
As I sat down for a while waiting for my body to get tired the house had grown dark and silent. I kept my eyes on the TV and was watching some random show that I didn't know much about. It's about some guys in a pawn shop. As I sat there waiting for something... I don't know what I was waiting for, but I guess I just expected to fall asleep at any moment now. As I sat there I then heard footsteps walking down the stairs. I turned around to see that it was twilight, who was completely naked. I quickly turned around and covered my eyes. When I did get a good look at her, she looked like she was tired, but not really. More like she was just fatigued.
"Twilight... Why aren't you wearing clothes?" I asked.
"Sleeping without them is more comfortable..." She said. "But I can't sleep."
"Why not?" I asked still covering my eyes. She was silent for a little until I felt someone sit down next to me on the couch, so it must be her. She grabbed my hands and pulled them away from my face letting me see again.
"Crimson, I don't care if you see my body... I really don't." She said. "It never mattered in Equestria, so it shouldn't matter now... Besides, it's just the two of us." She said hugging my arm and pressing the palm of my hand against her breast and resting against me.
"Uh twilight, you really shouldn't." I said as my face turned beet red. Her body was warm and soft and her breasts were soft and supple.
"Thank you crimson..." Said twilight.
"Uh... F-for what?" I asked.
"Everything that you do... And everything you did for me today." She said. "You showed me a good time and were kind to me all day, then you jumped to my side and protected me." She said. "I'm not strong... I know that, at least... Not as strong as you, so I really rely on you to be there for me when I need you the most..." She said. "There was a Time a long time ago when I was in trouble and you weren't there... And I was heartbroken... You're always there... Even when we had that fight, you still wanted to be my friend, even when nopony believed me, and I made a fool out of myself... You were still there to protect me, and the others." She said.
"Twilight... I..." I said but she cut me off.
"Crimson, you're my best friend... And I love you." She said. "So as long as you stay by my side, I'll be by yours... No matter what happens to you or me... I'm going to do my best to become strong so that one day you can lean on me for a change."
"Twilight... You are strong... In more ways than you think." I said. "Don't worry... Twilight. I'm going to make you this promise right now." I said. "I swear on my life... That as long as I'm here... And my heart is still beating... I will be your shield and your sword... Not just for you, but for everypony in this world, and the next... And every world after, so long as I have life in me I will be the shield that protects my friends from any threat. And I will destroy any evil that threatens to hurt you or any of my other friends... I swear this on my life." I said.
"Crimson..." She said with a sincere look, then she smiled. "Thank you crimson... For everything." Said twilight hugging my arm tighter. "You're a great guy... And I promise that I'll follow you on any adventure."
"Thanks Twi... But after all this is done and through. I think I'm going to take a long... Much needed vacation." I said.
"Mmmm... I'd like to go home too..." Said twilight. "Be with friends again... I'm sure they must all be worried." She said. "I wonder what they're doing right now?"
"Probably carrying on. Living their normal lives, but I'm sure that they're thinking of us right now... I'm sure that they're all worried, even the princesses too I'm sure." I said. "Don't worry... When we get back we're going to have all the time in the world to catch up and tell them about what happened." I said.
"I'm sure we will crimson... I'm sure we will..."
