"Alex...it's starting to get late now..." Said twilight behind me, suddenly taking away the blissful dirt action of my past, and pulling me into reality. Through the whole time we were walking I was reminiscing about my past. I looked up and noticed that it was indeed starting to get late, we need to find a place to stay. We had been walking for a long time now, this town is surprisingly larger than I remember, and I've been starting to forget my way around. I can remember where I live perfectly well, but finding my way around the town is proving difficult. As we were walking we did have to fend off various mutants, we ran into another one of those screaming bastards, I didn't want to have to deal with that and ignited it instantly. We ran into several of this bloated, corrosive mutants and a few other ones like the tall and skinny black ones, a few mutated dogs, and we ran into a couple of strange mutants who crawled along with just their two arms. Their legs fused together into one large kind of stinger... They were surprisingly fast, but not too strong.

"You're right...c'mon, there should be a few homes up ahead... We can take refuge in one of them..." I said making my way down the street. We were in one of the uptown rural areas. The was the part of town with all the farmland and such. I figured it would be a good detour instead of going through the center of town where there's most likely more trouble... So far I've been right. "Over there..." I said pointing down a dirt path to our left which led up to a small, old farmhouse by a horse field. It wasn't boarded up or destroyed, it looked perfectly safe as well. We started making our way down the path to the farm house when there was something that stopped us. A strange sound came from the field to our left behind a bunch of trees. We stopped and I pointed my gun over. Then something emerged from behind the trees... It was a horse.

"Oh...it's a horse." I said...at first, then we got a better look at it.

"Not like any horse I've ever seen." Said Derek. The horse was mutated, it's mane was messy and thin, and it's flesh was melted and open, almost porous like a changelings body. The horses cloven hooves stood strong though and on its side it had a twisted pair of bat-like wings which is lapped slightly before the shaking it's head and leaning down to graze on the grass. It let out a huff of air and stomped its hoof on the ground twice before it continued grazing. It didn't seem to care for our presence in the slightest.

"It's not attacking us..." Said twilight.

"Hmm...I guess it friendly..." I said.

"You're not thinking about going up there and touching it, are to Alex?" Asked Derek giving me a sly look.

"You know... I kind of was..." I said. I was silent for a moment and we watched the horse graze peacefully. "Wait here...I'm gonna go touch it..." I said in all seriousness but also making a little jeer at Derek.

"Keep your gun up..." Said Derek. I waved him off and started to make my way over towards the horse slowly and gently. Once I got somewhat closer the horse noticed me and propped its head up. It then started to lightly trot over to me, I was a bit jumpy at first, but when I noticed the care in its step I relaxed. I didn't expect it to just trot right up to me, but it did, and it started circling me and sniffing me, probably looking for something to eat like a carrot or apple, or something. It made me light slightly. I lead the horse back in front of me and pet his muzzle. "Good uh..." I said pausing to check his undercarriage, "girl... Good girl." The horse let out an almost playful whinny and trotted its hooves in place. Like normal horses this one licked the side of my face and started to try and eat my hair. I laughed and pushed the horse away. The horse trotted closer to the house and started grazing right by the kitchen window. I wiped the horse slime off my face and fixed my hair.

"Good thing it's friendly..." Said Derek.

"I kinda like it..." Said twilight. "It's good to know that we can have friends out here..." She said walking over to the horse which immediately took an attraction to twilight, for obvious reasons of course. She giggled and pet the horse.

"So this is what ponies are like in your world..." She said. "Well... This is how they act... Right, I know that this ones mutated...but the regular ones that were at the house we stayed at act like this, right?"

"Yeah... They're playful." I said. "This ones extra playful, so it must have been raised well... C'mon... Let's check the house." I said making my way to the house and trying the door. It was unlocked. I opened it up and walked in. I looked around, making sure to be cautious. It was a single floor house, I couldn't sense any evil presences, and I couldn't smell any signs of death or decay. As far as I could tell, it was clear. There could be a basement with gardening tools or such, but it's probably pitch black. I made my way around and so did twilight and Derek. I looked through and it was a rather old house. I checked the living room and bedroom, twilight and Derek checked the kitchen and dining room.

"Hey... Alex...come here." Said Derek. I made my way through the pathways to find him in the kitchen holding up a bowl of fruit "look... Fruit...and it's real too." He said taking one of the bananas and peeling it.

"So..." I said just as twilight joined us.

"Don't you think its a bit odd that this fruit is still fresh?" He asked. "Everything else here is covered in a thick layer of dust...and this fruits perfectly fine... And look here too." He said opening up the fridge next to him. It was full of food, meats cheeses, milk, and vegetables... A true banquet. "All of it... Fresh." Said Derek.

'You're right..." I said. "All of this food should be expired and rotting."

"Do... Do you think it's safe to eat?" Asked twilight.

"This is weird...the plants and trees and such are all thriving, but things like houses and cars are broken down, the roads are cracked, and there are mutants everywhere... And things like fruit and meat is all fresh... It doesn't make sense.

"WAIT!" Said twilight shouting like she was suddenly hit with a stroke of genius.

"What?" I asked softly.

"I know this..." She said excitedly. "This is just one massive evergreen spell..."

"An evergreen spell?" Asked Derek.

"It's a spell which prolongs the life of plants and produce... It's also known as the farmers spell." She said. "It makes crops grow and keeps them healthy even in the winter or in times of drought."

"So that's what's happening here... It's an evergreen spell." I said.

"I don't know what else it could be..." She said. "You said it yourself, the explosion was a regular one, it was just a magical release of... Sizable magnitude."

"True..."

"So is all this food good to eat?" Asked Derek.

"I don't see why not..." I said walking over to the fridge and grabbing a carrot. "Let's see." I said. I took the carrot and walked outside with it. I whistled to the horse which was grazing in the field and she propped her head up. "C'mere girl..." I said motioning for her to come over. Seeing the carrot in my hand she rushed over and trotted around me playfully trying to get the carrot in my hand. I smiled and petted her muzzle and held the carrot up. She ate it without hesitation and once she was done she began to rub her head against me and whinny. "Good girl... Good girl." I said petting her muzzle. I walked away and made my way into the house, to my surprise though, the horse followed me in.

"Aww... She followed you in here..." Said twilight as I walked into the kitchen with the horse behind me, I didn't even notice until she said so. I looked back to see the horse looking at me with wanting eyes... She knew I would give her food... I guess there can't be any helping it.

"Uhm...here...have an apple..." Said Derek holding out his hand with an apple In it. The horse made her way to him and ate the apple, and proceeded to do the same thing where she rubbed her head against Derek and whinnied. Twilight fed her another carrot and the horse whinnied and did the same. We were having fun, but then the horses head suddenly shot up and looked out the window, and it started to grow anxious, it started moving around and trotting in place knocking things over and bumping into everything. I had to lead it outside where it then took off into the field and flew into the air with its wings, and it flew to the very end of the field to a barn which had open doors. The horse disappeared into the barn and the sun was beginning to set.

"What was all of that? Did we do something?" Asked twilight walking out with Derek.

"No..." I said getting my gun ready. "It could sense something... Something spooked it off."

"No... It felt like it was rushing somewhere...not running away." Said twilight. "It didn't seem panicked, and it didn't just bolt off into the woods or anything, it ran right to the barn."

"What do you think it could be?" Asked Derek.

"I don't know, with all this magic soaking everything, it could be anything... We should watch out... Make sure your guns are loaded." I said. I kept my eyes on the barn until there was a loud thundering neigh that came from the barn followed by an echoing laugh.

"What the heck was that?" Asked Derek getting his gun ready. Suddenly the barn the horse ran I to caught flame and started to burn.

"Holy shit...' I said. Even from here the flames were intense. And suddenly from the bright flames, a shadow emerged. A tall dark figure ridding upon the same horse that was so friendly with us. The horses mane burned with fire and the open pores in its flesh spit fire and burned. Even the horses eyes and wings were fiery. Atop the horse was a figure wearing armor and a cape. The figure, however, had no head on his shoulders, yet still let out a mighty, and terrifying laugh.

"The fuck is that? The headless horseman... What is this? How is that even possible?" Said Derek.

"Non magical creatures don't react well to copious amounts of magic... That's how..." I said. The headless horseman hand in his hands a large and dangerous looking, gardening scythe. The horse he sat on started to trot slowly over to us and he stayed on riding bareback. The horse then began to gallop and soon was sprinting towards us with its demonic, fiery wings spread slightly on its side. I fired multiple shot and so did twilight and Derek, but no matter how many times we hit it, nothing seemed to work. The horseman dashed right at me and swung his scythe at my head, going right for my neck. I quickly ducked and managed to dodge the blow. I got up and signaled for twilight and Derek to run. We began running towards the field before we were then trapped in a burning circle of fire. There was another laugh as the horseman flew over the flames. The horse landed and flapped its wings and closed them by its side. This one enemy seems to be oddly sentient. He charged again and we tried shooting once more, but bullets seemed to be ineffective. He swung at Derek, but he dodged the attack.

"Bullets don't work..." Said Derek.

"Then Maybe magic will." I said tossing my gun to the ground. I opened up both hands and burning white fire ignited in the palm of my hands. I snapped my fingers and the horseman burst into a torrent of white flames. The flames turned into regular flames and the horseman was unscathed. He let out another laugh and started to charge at me. I quickly summoned a greatsword made out of light and held it strongly. The horseman rushed at me and swung the scythe, I parried the strike and the horseman ran past. The horse turned around and started to dig its one hoof into the ground. The horse let out an audible huff of air as smoke and ash spewed from its mouth and nose. He charged at me again and swung the scythe at me. I dodged and as I dodged I swung the sword and cut off the front and hind left legs of the horse. The horse let out a painful cry and fell to the ground. The horse,n stumbled off of the horse and fell to the ground, but he wasn't scathed. He got back up and let out an angered cry and picked up the vicious looking gardening scythe.

"At least he's off the horse..." Said Derek. His fists burned with blue energy. He chucked a magic missile towards the horseman who managed to cut right through it with the scythe. Twilight fired several bolts of magic at the horseman but he cut through them all. Twilight, seeming distraught, took a wide stance now and spread her arms wide apart. A large light began to glow all around her, and with a fierce shout, she pushed her hands forward sending several magic missiles from the light towards the horseman. He slashed at them and they exploded around him creating a purple mist. It wasn't long before he leapt from the mist with his scythe held up high, going right for twilight. I used my magic to give me in heavy boost of speed and I shot right between him and twilight. I cut my sword through the earth and into the air to strike back at his own attack. As I pulled the blade from the earth I pulled up spouts of white flame which covered the sword and arched up with my attack as I struck the scythe of the horseman, creating a small burst of white flames. He stepped back from his attack and I pursued. Blow after blow, he blocked or dodged them all, and when he retaliated the same could be said for me. We traded bows for a while, but my stamina was starting to wane. The same for the horseman, even though he didn't have a face to show it, I could tell by his stance.

He's by far the strangest mutant we've run into. He doesn't have a head yet still functions, and he's oddly sentient. He seems to show emotions, and seems to be more in control of his actions other then the other mutants which in all honesty, act just like zombies. The other ones are instinctually driven and rely on their senses, this guy seems to be far ahead of the others. The rest of them are like monkeys, and this guys actually human. He's capable of cold and calculated movements, he can communicate, or vocalize his feelings, he was able to ride a horse, and he can use tools...or a weapon, in a tactful manner. I hate to admit it, but his skills with that scythe are impressive. I let out a deep breath, swallowed all of my emotions, and focused as hard as I could. I mustered up all of my energy and bolted at him hoping for one last, devastating attack. I ran, and he did the same. He swung first and I blocked with the side of my blade. I parried his attack, spun around for increased momentum and struck at him, he also blocked. He spun his scythe and struck it at me and I dodged. I swung at his legs and he jumped and swung at me and I dodged. This whole time we swung and struck at each other.

He swung once more and I blocked his attack, I could see the opening and for a moment, time seemed to stop. I pushed his blade up as I spun around for extra momentum. I kept my blade on his scythe making sure it stayed put until it was time to attack, after spinning to face him again I pushed the sword down and to my side and spun once more for a devastating sideways blow. I finally got him, the great sword cleaved through his whole self. He fell back, now ripped in two, and both halves of him burst into flames and were reduced to ash before he even hit the ground. The horse he rid also burst into flames and the fires that were burning around us in the field and the ones that burnt the barn disappeared leaving only charred remains behind. I dispelled my magic sword and picked up my gun, breathing heavily.

"That was rough..." I said waltzing over to twilight and Derek.

"Are you okay?" Asked twilight.

"Yeah...I'm fine...just tired." Derek nodded and we started to make our way back to the farmhouse. It was still dark outside and the night had only started. We made our way inside and I quickly used my magic to create a sphere of light which lit up the house. I placed it in the living room and it lit up everything. I walked over to the couch and laid down on it. There was a bedroom in the other room but nobody really wanted to sleep at this point, except for me.

"Have you noticed how odd that mutant was?" Asked Derek.

"It was strange..." Said twilight agreeing.

"We'll have to be more cautious from now on..." I said laying on the couch and taking a breather, I let out a heavy sigh and rested my head on an old pillow laying on the couch.

"Crimson has the right idea...we should rest..." Said twilight.

"Yeah... Let's get some sleep... Whoever wakes up first wake the rest of us." Said Derek. He took a spot on a chair and started to doze off, it looked comfortable, but sleeping on it might not feel that great, but he was asleep before I knew it. Twilight was fast asleep as well on a smaller couch across from the large couch I was resting on. She dozed off too and soon I began to pass to myself. Before I knew it I was asleep, and I don't know how long I slept for, but when morning rose I was suddenly woken up by a familiar face. Somebody grabbed my shoulders and started to shake m gently. I let out a soft moan and brought my arms up and rubbed my eyes.

"Ugh...what?" I said still half asleep.

"Alex...wake up." Said a familiar voice. I opened my eyes and saw it was twilight who had woken me up. Derek as well was just getting up himself and stretching out. I let out a powerful yawn and woke up and stretched. I got off the couch and had that drowsy, and uneasy feeling whenever you get up in the morning, I must have slept well, but it wasn't very bright out, so it must be early...that's good, it means we have more time to burn.

"We should have breakfast before we go..." I said out of nowhere.

"And a decent one too... Not just something out of a can." Said twilight. "There's plenty of fruit and vegetables in the kitchen, it's perfect for waking up... Along with plenty of water." She added. She made her way into the kitchen, a but bright eyed and cheery. Twilight is strange in the mornings, when you wake her up she's like a slug, but when she wakes up on her own she's always energized and ready to go. I let out another groan and a second yawn and I got up myself. I walked into the kitchen with Derek behind me and twilight had already helped herself to the fruit. We found her happily eating an apple. We ate too, bananas, apples, grapes, and grapefruit. We drank water and I admit that it did help wake us up a lot.

"It's good that we woke up early..." I said taking a bite of an apple. "We'll be able to make it to my house before noon." I said.

"I'm still slightly doubtful that this portal is even here..." Said twilight.

"Well...it's our best shot, and I can't think of anywhere else it could be." I said in defense. "Besides, this place is literally soaked in magic energy, it has to be here..."

"It might be in the wasteland... But how do we know that it's at your house?" Asked twilight.

"Well...because I feel like the world is just taunting me like that..." I said. "And I didn't bring it up, but I had some strange vision."

"So we're here because you had a dream?" Asked twilight obviously not believing me.

"Look... Sometimes I think my subconscious self knows more than I actually do... And it was pretty believable too... But you probably wouldn't understand." I said.

"Your right crimson... I probably wouldn't..." Said twilight seeming a bit upset. "You need to be more careful, you're not the only one you know... Me and Derek are here too, and you can trust us..." Said twilight.

"I know twilight... But... Sometimes it's better if I don't talk about these things." I said as the argument started to heat up a little.

"Like when...? When is it ever good to keep these things away from your friends?" She asked still seeming mad.

"Twilight..." I said. "Trust me... There's some things is rather take to my grave." I said somewhat depressed..

"Whatever...let's just...let's just go..." She said making her way out of the kitchen still a little steamed. I looked over at Derek and he just gave me a shrug and followed her. I let out a depressed sigh and started to follow after them. They went outside and started to make their way down the road. I followed them, but I had to tell them which ways to go since I'm the one who actually knows where we're going. Once we had made our way out of the forested, farmland area we walked onto a street which was a very cultured town road. It was heavily settled with beautiful oak trees and family houses. This was my neighborhood, we lived on a very family friendly street, me and my wife...and my daughter. I'm glad that there aren't any of those walking corpses anywhere.

We started making our way down the road and i was starting to remember everything now. We kept walking until I came to a slow stop and looked over at one of the houses. It was a yellow house with green shutters. A large bay window and picket fence, flowers growing near the base of the house and bushes. A car in the driveway, a silver Chevy, and a big oak tree growing near the end of the lawn right next to the driveway. Twilight and Derek noticed that I had stopped and turned around and walked back up to me. I didn't even bother to notice them, I was too focused on the house in front of me.

"Crimson... What is it?" Asked twilight.

"Here..." I said.

"Here?"

"This is my house..." I said taking a few steps. I walked up to the picket fence and opened up the gate to walk into the front lawn where my wife had kept her garden which was flourishing. I walked past it and made my way towards the front door. Twilight and Derek followed right behind me. I walked up to the door and grabbed the knob. I twisted the doorknob and the door opened up. I opened the door fully and looked into the dark and dusty house. I took one step inside and everything was eerily still. I looked around. A hallway with a staircase right across from the door leading upstairs. To the right was a living room. To the left, a kitchen with a dinning room and a bathroom down the hall. I ignored everything and started making my way up the staircase, everything was silent.

"Crimson..." Said twilight walking forwards, but Derek grabbed her and held her back, kept her from following me.

"Don't... Not yet..." Said Derek holding her. She looked at him and then let out a defeated sigh. I made my way up the stairs and up to the second floor hallway. Right across from the stairs was a bathroom with a shower and tub. To the left was a guest bedroom...and my daughters room... Sarah. To the right was the master bedroom. I looked towards the master bedroom, the door was open, but from here the only thing you could see was half of the dresser and a window which was darkened by the curtains. I walked forwards and made my way into the room. I felt a chill run down my spine and I looked around. Everything felt very nostalgic, but when I looked over to the bed I saw something that made my heart stop.

Corpses... Skeletons, a mother and child embracing. I didn't need any kind of magic or science to tell me who's bodies those were... I knew. And I felt terrible, not because they were dead, but because part of me wished they were. If they were still alive, I don't know if I'd be able to return to my other world, I don't know if I'd be able to continue, or if I would just stay here. That's the whole reason I stayed and tried to start a new life anyway. I thought that I had nothing left... And I'm almost glad that I really don't have anything left. Before I knew it, tears began to roll down my face and then drop to the ground. I just looked at the and let the tears roll down my face. I couldn't bring myself to cry, or to sob, I feel like I don't deserve to, or maybe that I shouldn't instead. All I could do was stare blankly at them with hollow, haunted eyes, and just let the emotions leak out of my eyes.

"Crimson..." Said a voice softly as it began to approach from behind. Twilight who had come up the stairs had now walked into the room. She walked up next to me and stared at the same thing I was staring at. She could tell from my face, and where we were, she knew what this was. She looked at me with sorry eyes but I didn't look at her. "I'm sorry... Crimson." She said.

"Portal or not... I'm glad we came here..." I said. "I'm glad that I know... Now I can finally leave everything about this world behind me... And keep only the memories." I said.

"Uh crimson... I'm... Sorry about all the stuff I said." Said twilight. "I didn't notice how hard this might be for you too... I've been a little selfish."

"No... You're right." I said. "I'm not the way I used to be... Looking back now, I can see just how much I've really changed, and it makes me sick." I said. She didn't say anything back and we stood there in silence for a good while. "The portal is here..." I said. "I can tell... I just know it."

"Can you feel it, the magic energy?" Asked twilight.

"Not the magic energy... But a disturbance, something is wrong in this world, and it's right under our feet." I said. "There's something sucking in all the magical energy, like a black hole." I said. "I felt it long since now, that the energy was slowly and gradually being pull towards something... And I can feel the magic energy being pulled even more violently now, the portal isn't necessarily right where we are...but it's very close..."

"Are we leaving now?" Asked twilight, sounding a little concerned.

"Yes... We are..." I said looking at her and then looking back to the skeletons on the bed. "And I don't suppose we'll ever come back." I said walking out of the room now and going downstairs. Derek waited outside of the door with a concerned look on his face. I walked past him but he stopped me by putting his hand on my shoulder.

"Watch..." He said. "It'll all turn out for the best... I know it will." He looked at me and he smiled, and I smiled back.

"Thanks..." I said as twilight approached from behind.

"C'mon... It's this way." I said. I began making my way down the street following the pull of the magical energy in the air. We were getting closer and closer, until I halted and we came to a stop just at the crux of an intersection branching off to other roads. I looked ahead, and there was a glimmer, a sort of translucent shine in the air. I walked forward a few steps and held my hand out. As my arm moved forward, soon it disappeared, like there was a wall In front of us where nothing could exist. We've run into something like this before already.

"What is that?" Asked twilight.

"It should be familiar..." I said. "The immense fluctuation of energy must have caused time and space to collapse here and created a breakage in the passing of time. It's blocking off our view of the event horizon, which I predict is out ticket out of here."

"But magic can still pass through?" Asked Derek.

"Magical energy exists throughout space and time, that's how come spells like teleportation, and also the freezing, or traveling of time are possible." Said twilight. I took a few more steps forward and walked through the barrier. I watched as now everything changed around me. Twilight and Derek followed through and we all looked around. Everything was torn and destroyed, there weren't even any signs that this was a neighborhood anymore. Giant spikes of earth jet from the ground, tears and rifts opened up in the ground. And everything was cracked and broken. Magic energy visibly seeped through the cracks and rifts in the ground and was being pulled towards a large mass of antimatter, and black hole for short. A swirling vortex of darkness and magic pulled all the magic into it, but had no affect on physical objects.

"What is that?" Asked Derek.

"That's our portal..." I said.

"Were jumping into that thing?" He asked.

"It's a naturally occurring link between worlds, some portals are created with magic, others are formed when there is too much magic." Said twilight.

"These portals are links to other worlds that exist through time and space." I said. "For example, this end of the portal only exists in this moment of time, and possibly others. But the end might shoot us out a thousand years into the other world, or in the far past...or anything." I said.

"So we just jump into it?" Asked twilight.

"It's not that simple..." I said. "We need to tether ourselves together, or else the portal could shoot us out in different points of time." I said. "When I arrive, twilight could have gotten there first and had to wait a couple days or hours...but it might be thousands of years until you arrive through it..." I said.

"Alright... How do we tether together?" Asked Derek.

"That parts simple..." I said reaching into my backpack. "Rope..." I said pulling out a decent length of rope.

"Really? Just rope?" Asked twilight.

"Just rope." I said. "As long as there's a physical object connecting us, it will be like we're one unit of mass , and there fore can't be separated. But it would help if we were decently close together.

"Well...what are we waiting for... Let's go." Said Derek. He said just before the ground began to shake and tremble.

"Wait...what's that?" Asked twilight taking note of the trembling, then after even more trembling was a terrible roar, a strange roar. And suddenly something came crawling from a large rift in the ground. We turned our attention to the beast emerging from the crevice. When the beast emerged we took note of it. It had no flesh, no muscles, it was a skeleton. It had a strange oblong skull with a jaw like a wolves, with favor sharp teeth. It had a long slender, spine body with legs, much like a centipede. It snaked towards us and scurried along with its legs moving it incredibly fast. Up front it had two hands, or more like claws...one claw, long and seemingly made of steel, shaped like a scythe.

"What the hell..." Said twilight looking up at it. I got ready to fight, but it had a blatant feeling that guns wouldn't work. So I dropped them and switched out for my sword. I focused my energy and was soon dawned in armor that glowed like light. I held my large sword in my hand and got ready to fight. Twilight focused her energy and began to summon spells, along with Derek. The beast lurched over to us and let out a terrifying roar. It swiped at us with its blade arm and we dodged. The blade stuck into the ground and was removed. I lept into the air, high into the air, and struck the beast on its head. But that didn't seem to harm it. Being here, here this vortex, i can feel the magic energy being sucked from me. Even twilight, could tell. She cast a magic missile, but it didn't make it far through the air before dis integrating and being pulled into the black hole. I flew back and landed next to twilight.

"What do we do?" Asked Derek looking at me. I looked at him, then at twilight... Then to the beast, and final at the portal. I thought hard for a brief second before the beast could attack again. When it did we all dodged in the same direction.

"We run..." I said.

"Really?" Said twilight seeming surprised.

"Here...take this, tie yourselves together while I keep it distracted, then jump in." I said.

"But what if we get separated?" Asked twilight.

"Don't worry...il be sure to grab the rope..." I said.

"Crimson..."

"Trust me... Twilight... I promise." I said. I gave her a faint smile and she nodded. While they got to work I leapt forward to meet the attack of the giant beast. He swung his scythe bladed arm and I blocked it with the sword. He swiped at me with the other arm but I quickly pushed the first one off and blocked the second. He continuously swiped at me and I blocked every attack making sure to throw some spells at him to keep him angry at me.

"Alex... Hurry..." Said twilight. I looked back and saw her and Derek tied together, the beast struck once more and I used this opportunity to dodge back and started running towards the portal, and the giant beast pursued.

"Run... GO!" I shouted. Twilight seemed hesitant but she was pulled in when Derek jumped into the portal. They left a good length of rope behind them for me to follow. They soon spiraled into the vortex and I quickly jumped in after them, barely escaping the beast. I flew through the swirling vortex of space, time and magic. I saw them flying forwards through the portal, and I tried catching up. I saw twilight trying to shout, but sound doesn't travel here, so there was only the violent sound of the swirling vortex sucking us through space and time. I tried as hard as I could to grab the rope, I got closer and closer. I reached for it and tried to grab it, only to barely hit it with the tips of my fingers. I tried again but before I could, twilight and Derek vanished, they were gone...like dust. I stopped, I'd thought I'd have more time, but before I knew it... I was gone to.

And where I ended up... Was like the realm of hell itself.
