***Again I am really sorry for the delay in the story. I go through phases where the words just flow; then there are times my mind goes blank in regard to where I will take the story. I hope there are still people interested. If so please review. Now back to My Life With John Cena :-)***
It has been a couple of days since I last saw John and I missed him like crazy. I even found myself sleeping in his sweatshirt because it smelled like him. We texted each other and video chatted when we had the chance but it wasn't the same. In the back of my mind what Michael said was still nagging at me. But today was going to be all about wedding planning. My grandmother just came into town the night before from North Carolina to help me dress shop among other wedding planning.
"No fair I wanted to be able to go with you all day today."
"Well you are going to be with me for the dress shopping, and that's the most important part."
"It is but I want to be there for the food and cake tasting." Linda said whining
"You poor thing." I said giggling "Let's get ready to go so I can pick up grandma at the hotel and not be late for my dress appointment."
John had paid for my grandmother to stay at the beautiful Hotel in the City we would sometimes stay at if he was only in town for a night. This actually made it convenient since the dress shop was not too far from there. By the time we pulled up in front of the hotel she was already downstairs waiting on us. Linda and I jumped out of the car and gave her hugs and kisses.
"Hi sweetheart how have you been? Step back and let me look at you... Wow you look great and so happy. Love will do that to you. And Linda let me look at you. Have you lost weight you look great. Remember you have to tell me about that Matt fellow your talking to."
"Thanks grandma. You are looking great also."
Linda and I spent many summers with my grandmother in North Carolina. Linda was always considered as a second grandchild.
"So girls where are we heading first?"
"Have you had breakfast yet?" I asked.
"Yes that cute fiancé of yours had breakfast brought up to my room this morning. So delicious! I had eggs, bacon, fruit and a basket of pastries. He also had flowers waiting in the room for me. Daises which are my favorite."
"He didn't have breakfast and flowers sent to me." I said pretending to be jealous.
"Hush girl, I'm special." Grandma said giving me a squeeze.
"Hey I made you breakfast this morning." Linda said.
"A glass of juice doesn't count. And I had to pour it myself."
"You two stop fussing and let's get a move on."
"Yes Grandma!" Linda and I said in unison.
We hopped into the car and headed to the bridal shop. We were met at the door by a middle age woman dressed all in black.
"Good morning ladies, my name is Betsy0. We are so happy you chose our bridal shop to help you find the perfect dress."
Walking into the shop you could smell a soft scent of fresh flowers. The walls were pale pink with light gold stenciled vines on it. There were glass cases with sparkling wedding accessories along one wall and against the opposite a white receptionist desk beside a small seating area for waiting brides to be. Along the back wall were a set of gold trim double doors.
"Where's all the dresses?" Linda asked looking around.
"We don't want our brides to be too overwhelmed so we don't keep the gowns out here. We have a separate floor for that. I assure you we have hundreds maybe close to a thousand dresses in our lower level." Betsy said with a forced smile.
"I am sure you will help me find the perfect dress." I said poking Linda in the back.
"What, I was just curious." Linda whispered.
"If you ladies would follow me." Janet said gesturing to the double doors towards the back of the room.
"This place is fancy." Grandma said looking around.
Once through the double doors there was a huge room with pale pink doors lining a side wall and a large white circle in the middle of the floor that a bride would have to step up on to see a front and back view of the dress. In front of the circle was a large mirror and behind it was a long pale pink plush couch. Hanging above the circle was a beautiful crystal chandelier.
"Wow this is beautiful." I said
"Only the best for our customers. We have several rooms that our brides use to try on the dresses. Since you are a VIP customer you will be the only person shopping for a bridal gown. So you will have extreme privacy." Betsy said very proudly.
"What do you mean by VIP? I didn't ask for any special treatment when I set the appointment."
"You didn't have to. You're lovely fiancé requested you have the store to yourself to make your search for finding the perfect dress easier."
"When did he make these arrangements?"
"Three days ago I believe."
"He knows I don't like a fuss to be made over me. But I know his heart was in the right place."
"If you don't want the fuss. I'll take it." Grandma said laughing.
"Me to." Linda added raising her hands.
"If you're ready to get started I can start pulling some dresses for you to try on. Just tell me what you like, your fiancé said price doesn't matter."
"I think I'm feeling dizzy."
"Come sit dear." Grandma said ushering me to the sofa.
"Are you feeling overwhelmed dear?"
"A little. I don't want a fuss to be made over me. I'm marrying John because I love him, not because of what he can give me."
"I know that as well as John knows that. He just wants to make you as happy as you make him. This is his way of showing it. Let him show appreciation."
"Thanks." I smiled. "It's just that I don't want to be seen as someone who wants what he has. I've been with him since before he was so famous. "
"People are going to think whatever they want to think. You can't change that. Just worry about how John feels. That's what matters."
"Thank you."
Even though I was worried about people seeing me as a user I also was worrying about what Michael was up to. And what were these findings he mentioned in his letter. I know I shouldn't meet him but I just have this nagging feeling. It's not just me I have to worry about it's John also. Who knows what he may have up his sleeve.
"Are you feeling better? I brought you some water" Linda said handing me the cold bottle.
"Thanks Linda, I am."
"That's what the maid of honor is for." She said with a giggle.
"Now let's get you in some dresses before I start trying some on."
After two hours of trying on dress after dress after dress my grandmother came into the dressing room holding a dress.
"Why don't you try this one sweetheart."
I was really tired and ready to give up. But after all my grandmother had done for me I would try the dress she liked on and put a smile on my face even if it killed me.
"Betsy took me downstairs to the dresses and I saw this and thought it may look nice on you."
"I will try it on right away." I said with a smile.
Once I stepped into the dress I knew immediately it was the one. I did not have to fake a smile. In this dress I felt like a princess. Not only a princess but a bride. As I stepped onto the giant circle in the middle of the room and looked into the mirror I could see my grandmother and Linda with tears in their eyes. I turned around to face them.
"So how do I look?"
"Amazing."
"Beautiful, now give your old granny a hug."
"I found the dress I will say I Do to John in." I said holding back tears of joy.
After a few more tears and hugs I headed back into my changing room to take off my dress. I could hear that I had missed a call on my phone by the constant beeps. It was John. I hurried and called him back.
"I heard you found a dress." John said
"How did you know? I just took the dress off."
"I had the dress shop send me a message once you found one. I can't wait to see you in it and then out of it."
"John!" I giggled
"I don't have much time I have to get ready for a meeting with a director about a movie shooting next year. I just wanted to call and say I love and miss you."
"Thanks babe. I love and miss you also."
I hung up the phone and finished getting dressed when my phone rang again.
"Maybe it's John again." I thought picking up the phone.
"John."
"No, it's Michael."
