(Dress Description: The dress has a strapless sweetheart neckline with pleated bodice. A crystal belt that ties in the back to a bow at the waist. With a tulle ball gown skirt with a short train towards the back. I hope you are able to get a sense of what the dress looks like I was unable to add a picture of the dress)
"Michael why are you calling me?" I said in a whisper.
"Is he there with you? Is that why you are whispering?"
"No I am actually trying on wedding dresses and I am with my grandmother and Linda."
"Wow I know you look beautiful. I wish I could see you. It's great that you are sharing this moment with your grandmother. She is a great woman. I just wish the dress you were picking out was for our wedding."
"You know what, I am about the hang up the phone."
"Wait, wait. Sorry about that. I just wanted to make sure that you are going to meet me tomorrow as I asked."
"My better judgement tells me no but if I don't it will nag at me. Can't you just tell me whatever your findings are now."
"I wish I could but it's better to show you in person. I will just say a picture is worth a thousands words."
I hung up the phone and just sat there trying to get myself together. Wondering what could he possibly have.
"A picture? what kind of picture?" I thought.
**Knock knock**
"Hey Athena you almost done changing I have to get ready to head out and wanted to say goodbye first."
"Just give me a second I'll be right out."
I stood up and gave myself a quick look in the mirror.
"Smile, be happy. You just found the dress of your dreams and soon you will marry your best friend and perfect match. Get yourself together."
I opened the door and forced a smile on my face.
"Thank you so much for coming with me to dress shop. It would not have been the same without you."
"No need to say thank you. We are practically sisters. It was never a question, I will always be there. Just like you are for me. Just wish I could be there for the food tasting. Now that is a true tragedy."
"Don't worry I will take pictures of all the food and cakes and try to bring something tasty for you."
"You better!"
"Okay girls are you ready to go? I just spoke with Betsy and she said they are going to have another dress that hasn't been tried on sent here to the Bridal Shop for you. So it will be crisp and brand new."
"Thanks grandma you are such a help for me."
After leaving the Bridal Shop we dropped Linda off back at the apartment and headed to the restaurant that was going to be handling the food for the wedding. Once entering we were greeted by the owner and head chef.
"Let me guess my fiancé called before we got here?"
"Yes your husband to be called a couple of days ago and asked that we provide only the best for your wedding and money is no object."
"I think there is a theme running here."
"Right this way ladies." The owner said ushering us to a private room.
"So from the email I sent you I wanted a five course menu. Dishes that would be filling for the big guys I have coming to the reception and dishes for my regular people. I also wanted vegetarian options for my non meat eaters."
The chef came out with the first course which was a soup course. He had three different soups. A roasted tomato and basil soup, a broccoli and cheese soup and a garden soup. All three tasted delicious. The second course is a salad dish. A butternut squash salad with warm cider dressing, a spinach artichoke berry salad, classic Caesar salad and tomato feta cheese salad. Again all four were very tasty but I am personally partial to the Caesar salad. The third course was a appetizer course. A coconut crusted crab cake dish, a ricotta cheese on basil flat bread dish, buffalo wings with blue cheese chopped, fried ravioli and pomegranate guacamole dip served with blue corn tortilla chips. The fourth course is the Entrée dishes. A rack of lamb dish, a surf and turf of lobster and rib eye steak, a filet mignon with chicken breast, a citrus smoked salmon and a vegetable lasagna. For the fifth and final course the dessert dishes. We would have a stations set up with several cakes, donuts, cupcakes and handmade mini candy bars with to go boxes so people could take some home.
"Wow everything was so delicious. I am stuffed."
"Me too dear. It was a hard job but someone had to do it. I am going to have to make sure that I visit that gym in the hotel tonight." Grandma said laughing.
Before leaving I went into the kitchen and thanked the chef along with his kitchen staff for helping to make my wedding day more special. Before leaving I had them wrap up a surf and turf meal of filet mignon, crab cake and a twice baked potato for Linda so I wouldn't have to hear her complain about not taste testing the food. I made she to add an oversized cookie for good measure.
After leaving the restaurant that was catering the reception dinner I dropped my grandmother back at the hotel and headed back to the apartment. I surprised Linda with the food and took Blue into the bedroom and just laid down. I was feeling drained at this point. Not so much from the dress shopping and food but from the issue with Michael.
That night I didn't get much sleep. So the next morning I went for a run to try and clear my mind. I ran for about an hour and my mind still was not clear. I went back home and took a hot shower trying to wash the worries away but nothing worked. I ate a chicken wrap and got dressed in a pair of jeans and one of John's sweatshirts and headed out to meet Michael.
