I tried to take the longest way possible to the place I first met Michael. The movie theater.

***Flash back(4 years earlier)***

"Man, why did I listen to the weather man and believe it wasn't going to rain." I mumbled to myself.

I work a few stores down from the theater, and I wasn't planning to wait out the rain storm at work. I checked my wallet to see if I had extra cash for a movie ticket, with soda and popcorn of course.

"Well I don't get paid for another two days. If I go to the movies I will have to eat Ramen Noodle for dinner for the next two nights. Oh well, I really like noodles."

I made a run for it from my job to the movie theater. Hoping not to get to wet. Running with my jacket over my head I ran into someone and almost landed flat on my back.

"Sorry about that." I said making my way to the ticket booth. Not taking the time to see who I ran into.

I got my ticket and made my way to the concession stand to get my soda and popcorn. After being on the concession like for what felt like 10-15 minutes I had my snacks. The lights were low in the theater and the previews were already starting. The theater was packed. This comedy movie I was going to see had already been in the theaters for two weeks now. I was surprised it was still so packed. I did manage to see one available seat towards the front. I normally prefer the middle or the back but couldn't complain being that the movie was starting so I just eased into the row.

"Excuse me, sorry, excuse me, pardon me, excuse me."

I finally made it to my seat. Trying to sink into my seat to avoid all the annoyed looks targeted in my direction.

"Sorry!" I whispered to the person next to me that I hit with my jacket while sitting down.

"I hope you don't plan to try and knock me down again."

"What?"

"Outside the theater you tried to knock me down from behind."

"Who stands in the middle of the sidewalk anyway on a rainy day." I said annoyed while looking up.

Then I really got a look at who I was talking to. He was so good looking. Black wavy hair. I guess from the rain, and the most intense honey colored eyes I had ever seen. It seemed like he was looking right through me.

"Sorry about that. I didn't bring an umbrella and was trying not to get wet. But that is still not an excuse."

"Apology accepted once again."

"And you…?"

"And me what. I was the one hit." He said nonchalantly.

"But you were standing in the middle of the sidewalk. You were bound to be hit by someone. It just happened to be me."

"Well anyone with eyes would have seen me. I am not a small guy."

"No he wasn't." I thought to myself. He was hot. And I could tell that he worked out looking at the way his wet button down shirt clung to his arms.

"Aren't you cocky." I said as if I didn't care.

"I've been told. Well Ms. hit and run what's your name?"

"My grandmother told me to never talk to strangers. And sir you are strange."

"Well I think it is a little late for that. Or I can just call you Ms. hit and run."

"Don't say that too loud. People will think I actually ran someone over in a car."

"Ms. Hit and Run!" He said loudly.

"Alright alright my name is Athena. And yours, or is it just Mr. Cocky."

"My name is …"

"Be Quiet Over There!" Someone screamed from the back.

The man beside me just raised his shoulders and hands in a "Sorry but they want me quiet" look. It annoyed me that he knew my name but I didn't know his. I really didn't pay much attention to the movie. It had some funny parts but I didn't see what the big hype was over the movie. I spent most of my time wondering about Mr. Cocky next to me. At one point during the movie when the lead actor and actress kissed he looked over to me and gave me a smirked.

"What the hell. Why is he smirking at me?" I thought

"You got something, right there." He said leaning over and whipping a popcorn kernel off my cheek.

His touch felt like hot against my skin.

"Oh you can say that but not your name!?" I whispered

"KEEP IT DOWN!" Someone yelled.

I just sank down in my chair and looked over my shoulder to see who kept yelling at us. Just then I felt a soft breath on my ear.

"Michael, my name is Michael."

For the rest of the movie I sat there sunk down in my chair with my arms wrapped around my popcorn bucket. The lights began to lighten the theater and the end credits were showing. Michael stood up and stretched. Now I could really appreciate how good looking he was and the eyes. They were the color of honey.

"So…"

"So…" I said trying not to look into his eyes.

"Well since you got me yelled at during the movie… I figure you owe me."

"What! How do I owe you." I snapped

"Well for starters the embarrassment of being yelled at and the fact that I could not concentrate during the movie. Your perfume was kind of intoxicating. So for that you must join me for dinner. Or will your boyfriend be upset?"

"Hmm dinner with a good looking guy or Ramen Noodle back at my apartment while watching lifetime movies." I thought.

"Sure then you can walk me to the train after."

*** Back to Present***

Even though I tried as hard as I could to drag my feet to the movie theater I was there. As I approached the theater it was almost exactly the same as when we first met minus the rain.

"Michael."
